Chapter 595: A new player on the board

"Drop me off at the nearest ATM as soon as we exit the town." Bai Bao, said, "Our business has been concluded, we should say our goodbyes now." She said these words as soon as the gates of the flower farm were closed behind them.

"You are awfully calm for a young woman that suddenly finds herself in possession of one hundred million yuan. It’s impressive." Sally commented.

At the age of eighteen, if she had found herself in possession of such money she would have been so excited, she would be screaming and on her way to a stupidly unnecessary shopping spree. She would have blown nothing less than half a million in one day.

The girl, remained silent, choosing not to comment on Sally’s words. She gazed outside the window, thinking of many things that she did not care to share while she caressed her grandmother’s urn.

The rest of the journey back to the center of the capital was silent, Chi Lian kept her eyes on the book she was reading, flipping through the books at a fast pace while Sally looked at her phone, playing the game created by Code their computer genius. Bai Bao was eventually dropped off at an ATM machine close to a hotel. and as soon as she left, both women took off their masks and abandoned their disguises.

Sally scooted over to Chi Lian and pushed her head closer asking, "Boss, is the book helpful?"

"Yes and no," Chi Lian answered. "The one who kept a record did a wonderful job of it. Each piece of information is greatly detailed, with names, descriptions, addresses, even pictures in some cases. I hope that we did not over pay for something useless, some of the information in here is extremely irrelevant to me. For example, this is a record from 2011 which says, a man named Li Haoyu that works for Zhong enterprises is having an affair with another male executive at the company named Gong Tu Tao. How can such a record be helpful to_"

"Found him." Sally said, loudly and suddenly.

Surprised, she raised her head and looked at Sally with perplexity and inquisity. Why had she bothered to look up such information.

Sally planted her phone directly in Chi Lian’s eye view. On the screen was a picture of a charming man with a broad smile, he was dressed in a black and white stripped suit and the shiny golden ring on his ring finger, which obviously meant that he was married could not be missed.

"This is Gong Tu Tao, he is not just an executive anymore, he was recently promoted to vice president of Zhong enterprises. Look, there is a passage talking about his personal life, he has a wife and two children."

Dragging her eyes away from the screen, Chi Lian told Sally, "This is not helpful to my cause unless he can be tied to the building or the company, the royals, the Yan’s or an aristocratic family and the impending threat to our good lives."

"En, you are right, boss."

"This however, might be something," Chi Lian continued on, T4 had already scanned the books and on the virtual screen, he marked off each page which mentioned the building. "According to this record from 3rd July 2018, half of the building had been emptied out but old drunkard Ti claimed to have seen men fresh faced men that came out of three cars which had stickers from Wun electronics moving in at night." She had no clue what being fresh faced meant.

"Wun electronics," Sally was already on her phone, searching for that company. "Got it," she showed Chi Lian her phone, holding it up for her to read directly just as she had done before.

But T4 too, had done the same thing, filtering out all the irrelevant information and providing that which was crucial unlike Sally.

"The current chairman is Chin Shen Yao, sixty eight years old. Sally, when you get back to the office, add him to the board, he is a new player."

"Why?" Sally asked.

"He grew up in one of those orphanages where the women went missing from. Look here, he is very proud to have built himself up from nothing and he talks about it alot. It’s suspicious, tell the team to start gathering Intel on him."

"Yes boss." Sally sent the picture of Chin Shen Yao to the Intel gathering team, after they gathered data he would be handed off to the surveillance team.

Chi Lian wanted to continue going through the books, finding them more important than she anticipated but they had arrived at the Phoenix building and Sally stepped out, then she bent down and took the books, including the one in her hands.

"You have other things to do boss and a whole team of people paid to gather and study Intel. I am going to scan every page and send it to you." Sally, eager to be found useful was more than happy to take the books off Chi Lian’s hands.

Chi Lian had a feeling that the woman was just eager to dig into other people’s lives. This information was indeed worth a lot to the right person. In fact one hundred million could have been a steal, how much, for example would someone like Gong Tu pay to keep his dirty little secret a secret? And he was not the only one, there were many other people in the books that would pay a lot to see these secrets buried and those who knew of them dead.

"Be careful, I own those books, I paid a lot for them so please don’t damage them." She reminded Sally.

"I will guard them with my life boss." Sally claimed.

Chi Lian shut the car door and Spider drove her to Ctar, she was supposed to meet Ximeng for a dress fitting and she was late. The trip to the ancient street and the mysterious QB bank had eaten into her time.

During the car ride, she rubbed her stomach a few times, ignoring the hunger pangs which were gnawing her continously. If she was alone, she would have taken something substantial to eat from the virtual farm.

"Spider, are you hungry too?" She asked him. It was well beyond lunch time.

"I will eat later." He replied

"That was not a yes or no." She replied. "When we get to Ximeng’s store you should go to a nice restaurant and have lunch. I might be in there for an hour or two."

He nodded, and paid attention to the road ahead.

Chi Lian ate an apple during the remainder of the ten minute ride which held her until she got to Cstar luxury fashions.

While Spider walked away, she ducked into the car for a minute, accessed the virtual farm and came out with a box of pizza, two pies and fresh mango juice in a bottle. Why would she starve when she had such a wonderful cheat?

She was smiling when she walked into the store with her food, but that smile quickly faded when she saw a familiar face, one she had not seen in a long time.
