Chapter 543: How dare you roast my cat!
Chapter 543: How dare you roast my cat!
As she watched the guard that she had just hit with her helmet fall down, for a few seconds, Chi Lian thought that perhaps she should not have been so hasty. Her actions were going to attract the attention of all the guards in this house and whoever was roasting Smarty pants might speed up their actions. Maybe she should have just shot him with her smart gun. But there were cameras at the gates and since entry had been denied from the start, was there any other option but to use means of violence?
"Boss, are we going to fight." Spider looked to her for guidance. Both of them could see the second guard take out the knife from his belt.
"Can you handle him?" She nonchalantly asked him.
"I have handled bigger, stronger and more skillful opponents than him." Spider was confident, cockily confident in his skills, experience and the additional strength which came from the serum that old tiger provided to all of her most trusted men.
"Then I will go further inside." She walked away with confidence.
"A small part of that idiots tail has been scorched, better hurry." T4 updated her.
Chi Lian made haste, kicking the door of the house open and all that were in her way received an apology if they were not hostile.
"Call the police." She saw and heard the butler of the Ai’s yell.
"Yes, please do." She shouted back. All the guards that attempted to stop her were met with a beating from wrath, her bat and finally Chi Lian reached the backyard, the area being used for staging the roasting of a cat show.
She took her phone out of her pocket and started recording. This was actually a cover because there was a drone camera in the air doing all the recording.
"What do we have here?" She asked. Her words surprised the servants and the small six year old boy who was poking a cat that was meowing pitifully. It was hanging from a tree branch by a long rope which was dangling above a dancing fire in a bin.
One servant was standing to the side with a sharp steel knife, ready to cut it which would make the cat fall directly inside and burn to death.
"Who are you?" One of the servants asked.
"It’s her." Another whispered to the one questioning her. There were three servants here, all of them probably served this six year old. The one that whispered ’its her’ was female.
"Great," Chi Lian crossed her hands behind her back and smiled. "This means you are fully aware that I own the little thing dangling above those flames. Oy, little boy how dare you roast my cat." Her cold eyes directly looked at the five year old who in turn was so frightened that the stick he was using to poke smarty pants dropped from his hands and fell into the fire.
The female servant was quick to push the little boy behind her and shield him protectively.
"The little master had nothing to do with this." She said.
"That’s not what my recording says," Chi Lian waved her phone at them. "You do see the thing in my hands, right? I captured the scene of the crime in its entirety."
The three servants shared a look and came to an understanding.
"Get her." One of the men said.
Chi Lian shrugged and put her phone in the back of her pocket ,"Fair warning, I am not that easy to beat." she informed the men.
She was preparing to defend herself when the stern voice of a woman came from behind. "There will be no need to fight, release the cat, now!!!" This was the kind of commanding voice she had found similar among all matriarchs of aristocratic families. They had this way of projecting authority while promising grave consequences if one dared to disobey their orders.
"Oh, this sucks." Chi Lian mumbled as Smarty pants was untied and her run to her, burrowing himself in her arms. Chi Lian spun around and smiled at an elderly woman who was standing in the entrance to the backyard. She looked every bit regal draped in an expensive red fur and leaning on a cane made from fine wood for support. "Old lady, who do I get an apology from for the little circus in your backyard. This cat here in my arms is very expensive, it’s worth more than five million yuan and yet a few hairs on it’s body are singed."
"And you injured several of my guards, that cat also scratched my grandson and he had to get a shot. In the old days, the owner of a rabid animal died before it did." She answered. "Take your cat and leave my house."
"Is that a threat, old lady, are you threatening my life right now." Chi Lian swung the bat in her hands and smirked. "Because, I am getting the urge to burn a few hairs off the head of your grandson. But seeing as to how I am a mother, I will not touch the child, but in the old days, the crime of the child was often paid for by the parent sometimes."
"Ai Guang." a woman came hurrying over, and the boy run to her. Chi Lian guessed that this was the child’s mother.
She smiled cunningly and intercepted the boy, getting in between him and his mother. She grabbed the woman by the hair and said the old lady, "Sorry, someone has to pay the price for burning my cat."
Nobody saw where she got the knife from or how, but all they heard was a scream and a large chuck of hair was cut from the woman’s head. It was so simple to cut since it was held high in a pony tail. Chi Lian then kicked her away, tossed the hair in the bin of fire and the woman fell to the ground, touching her head in disbelief. Chi Lian had a few things to say to the matriarch before leaving this house. "A family like yours should be setting better examples, how can you teach children that burning innocent animals is okay? Will he be burning humans tomorrow? Is he another Hong Sian in the making? I am going to keep the footage on my phone as evidence in case he grows up askew. Our phoenix news will love to do a follow up with him in a few years. Feel free to bill me for the things I broke when I was rescuing my cat because I will be sending a bill after the vet counts every missing hair on my cat. Since you own a bank, it should be easy to pay me back." She smiled cunningly, and then she walked out of the house.
She left behind a screaming woman on the ground and she heard what was the clear sound of a slap. The little master Ai Guang’s servants were probably in for a long painful night but she felt no pity for them because of what they had done.
On her way out, she found guards laying on the ground, they had been beaten up quite brutally. A few were cradling were broken arms or legs, suffering immensely from the pain.
"Spider," she called the man leaning against one of the lions stone heads. "Did you have to go this far?"
"They had weapons and I did not do this alone." he pointed outside and she saw other guards from the mansion. They parted, making way for someone else to come through. Jun Muyang was standing there, and he shook his head in disbelief.
"Hubby," Chi Lian waved, "I got our cat back, look." She looked extremely proud of herself.
