Chapter 497: The embodiment of chaos strikes
The mighty little peep star: [Since many of you have been asking for updates, this peep star has been working round the clock to get them. There was a meeting of families today between the Jun’s and the Jiang’s. This peep star is not aware of what was discussed but I do know that the elders of both families are satisfied with the marriage. The new bride’s many uncles, cousins and brothers however are not and a few challenged the groom to a fight. Despite this little hiccup, the Jun’s went in with many bags of gifts and left empty handed. I am presuming basing on these facts that this marriage has been sealed.]
Attached were pictures of the old master and his wife entering the Jiang house. They were followed by both of Ringo’s parents. Behind them was a team of ten bodyguards carrying many gifts in each hand. Other pictures showing their departure were also attached. The very last picture was of the new couple holding hands as they waved goodbye to the Jiang’s.
Of course Chi Lian knew what had transpired inside the house, she had the entire recording and she could easily use it but she chose not to.
The footage also showed a moment between the new couple when they let go of each other’s hands and stared at each with an emotion that was definitely not love. Muyang was right, there was more to their marriage than met the eye.
That night, Ringo was standing on the balcony of his bedroom. In his hands was a freshly lit cigarette which he was holding between two fingers. One more had been put out in an ashtray on the table which was pushed to the corner of that balcony. There were frown lines on his forehead and he appeared to be overly exhausted. With every puff of smoke he exhaled, the smell of the cigarettes was carried by the wind inside the bedroom, affecting Cherry that was sitting on the bed and working on her laptop. She had been trying for a while to ignore that smell but the minute she felt an itch in her throat which made her want to cough, she could not take it anymore.
She marched with determination to the door leading to the balcony and stopped two feet away from him.
"Put it out." She told him.
Ringo heard her and he smirked. "I think you are overstepping your bounds. You are not my wife, you don’t tell me what to do."
Jiang Cherry’s lips formed a devilish smile, "You are right, I am not your wife." She stepped back, closed the doors and bolted them shut to ensure that he could not get back inside. They could both see each other through the glass doors and the surprised look on his face made her happy.
He was pissed, she could tell by the harsh glare in his eyes and the clenching of his jaw.
"You crazy woman open this door." Ringo tried the door handle a few times even though he knew that it was pointless.
"No." She mouthed and she stuck her tongue out at him childishly. Chortling, she returned to the bed and continued to work. He wanted to smoke, he should do what he wanted happily.
Two rooms away from theirs, Chi Lian and Muyang whose hearing was extra sensitive could hear Ringo banging on that door.
"Are they fighting already?" She asked Muyang. He was occupied with lightly kissing her exposed shoulders and back playfully while they watched a movie.
"I told you she was chaotic. I don’t know what she has done but he sounds displeased. When have you ever heard my brother raising his voice in this house?"
"Do you suppose the elders downstairs can hear them?"
"No, we are different that’s why we can hear them. If they are not getting along however maybe I should talk him into moving out for a while until they can sort things through. I have been thinking about us moving to the villa too for a while but I am afraid that my grandparents will be lonely."
She turned her head slightly to the side and shook her head. "If you want to move out because of me don’t, I enjoy the love and care lavished on myself and the children by the elders. I never have to worry about their safety because they are always right there to watch over them. Our house is already being built, at their speed we will be able to move out in two to three months. I think we should stay until then."
"You have given this much thought it seems."
She nodded but slowly as if her head was heavy. "I want us to have our own house of course. We are married and we should have some privacy and space to grow our family and live the way we want. It’s only natural for any married couple to feel that way. But I am not uncomfortable here and neither are you I presume. Let’s just stay until our house is finished, I suspect grandma and grandpa could follow us though because they are attached to the children."
"We are building inside the courts, they will have access to the children at any time. I think they will stay here." He did not agree with her on that one point.
"Oh by the way, my meeting with president Qin was successful. I think I should meet more women in business because our conversation was very insightful, there is still so much for me to learn. Should I start something like that, a forum or convention for women in business across all walks in life. It will be good to listen to the stories of others, their challenges, what inspires them. I can make it like a two day retreat in a good hotel somewhere."
"That sounds inspirational." He leaned his head on her back. "It will be more impactful if your target audience is young girls of university going age. I am sure the ones in my economics class will be very interested in attending."
"They can also pitch business ideas to interested investors. Maybe we can add booths too and ward cash prizes to the ones with the best ideas. It could actually help me recruit talent for my science park. Right now it’s still an empty shell in that aspect. With the exception of the three scientists I already recruited that is." The further they discussed it, the more excited she became because the vision became clearer in her mind. "I am going to call bear right now and see how it can be arranged."
Muyang tightened his hands around her waist. "Not now honey, we were both busy all day and this is our time together. I want every second of it, business and ideas can wait until tomorrow."
"Okay, you have me all to yourself now, tell me about your day. What was my favourite professor up to?"
"He was missing his wife mostly. Yichen and the others have invited me out for drinks tomorrow night. Do you want to go with us?"
She rolled her eyes and laughed lightly. " What could I possibly be doing at what sounds like a boys night out? I would rather meet my friends for drinks too."
"Maybe we should do a mutual get together, your friends and mine. Or we can go to the same place but enjoy our time out separately. In between, you and I can sneak away for some stolen kisses." He counter suggested. "Think about how exciting it will be."
She reached her hand back and patted his head "Although the last time I went out for drinks with my friends it did not end well. Our engagement banquet was almost ruined." she reminded him of that terrible incident.
"I found out who was behind that move by that move by the way. It was San Huing, he is one of Yan Fei’s henchmen. I messed around with his business as a punishment so for a whole year he is going to be busy fixing it."
"He probably did it for Yan Daya." Chi Lian squeezed her eyebrows close together in a frown."That mother tree cannot get here fast enough. It has been quiet for a while, has your brother been allowed back into the bedroom?"
"I think he found another way inside." His brother was a very resourceful man. He was probably sleeping in his bed already.
Muyang was right, Ringo was in bed smiling while his annoyed wife aimed little kicks at him beyond the pillow wall made to separate them.
