Chapter 478: Dear emperor I brought you a gift.

There was tension between the maid that came to deliver the crown princess’s orders and the old madam. Not just them but even the royal guards and the guards of the Jun mansion were eyeing one another fiercely. One wrong move in this situation and punches would go flying, a serious fight would ensue all because one maid did not know how to address a situation. That maid in particular was looking at the old madam with anger in her eyes. She probably enjoyed using the authority of the crown princess to undermine and Lord over others but today she had failed and she hated it.

"The crown princess’s decree cannot be ignored." She spat out. "Your granddaughter-in-law does not carry the name Jun, she is a Chi. She must kneel down."

The old madam remained completely unfazed. "Is that your mission today, to see my granddaughter-in-law on her knees in front of a lowly maid like you? It seems like someone should put you in your place."

"Grandmother I can deal with her." Chi Lian stepped forward. If the enemy had sent herself to her doorstep then who she she not to behead her? She vowed never to kneel or bow before the crown princess. She also promised herself to teach her a lesson that she would never forget.

"Get inside the house Chi-Chi." The old madam ordered her sternly.

Chi Lian was very much unwilling to do so. "Grandmother..."

"Now." The old madam for the first time since she met Chi Lian raised her voice at her.

"Yes grandmother." Chi Lian said responded in a respectful voice and she turned around to walk away. She had only taken two steps when she heard the maid yelling.

"Hey, commoner, the crown princess has ordered you to make a beautiful custom made crown for her to be worn on liberation day."

Chi Lian spun around and replied, "Tell your crown princess that I am all out of crowns. Tell her that even if I did have one, I would put it on the head of my dog before giving it to her." Since they had come to humiliate her and put her in her place for no reason then she might as well shed all pretense.

"How dare you!" The maid screamed, "Get her."

The old madam noticed that the guards were about to move so she nodded and the Jun family guards grabbed them. Chi Lian has spun around, ready to confront them if they laid a single hand on her. Jun Muyang came out of the house running and she knew that the butler had probably told him about what was happening.

"Grandma, Chi-Chi, what’s happening?" He said at the top of his voice.

"The crown princess has no respect for us it seems." The old madam said.

Muyang looked at the three messengers, the maid and the royal guards that were being held back by their family’s guards. Had they attempted to harm his loved ones physically?

"How should we deal with them matriarch?" The head of the bodyguards asked her.

"Tie them up and send them to the grand emperor, relay to him everything that has taken place here."

"What about her?" He pushed the maid forward.

"She physically attacked my wife and grandmother and injured them so send her to the police and make sure that she is arrested. Strip her of any communication devices." Jun Muyang answered before the matriarch could say anything.

"Yes young master."

"Wait." He said, cover her head with something and send her there, not the police. One week of suffering should suffice to make her watch her tongue next time."

As Muyang, the old madam and Chi Lian were entering the house, they heard her screaming "The princess will hear about this."

"Fool." Muyang mumbled. "Are you okay?" He asked both his grandmother and his wife.

"I am fine, excuse me for a bit I have a phone call to make." She went upstairs with the intentions of relaying all this unhappiness to the emperor. She called that number which belonged either to the emperor or royal butler.

"Hello." A familiar voice on the other end answered.

"I brought you a wonderful gift, a gift worthy of the liberation day celebrations. The kind of gift which makes news or could solve some of your problems."

"Thank you, when can the gift be picked up or delivered?"

"I am afraid that I might decide to free the gift because your daughter-in-law decided to put me in my place. I had no idea that being a commoner was a sin in this empire."

"She will apologize." The voice said. "Bring the gift to the Palace and you will have the apology and a reward from the royal treasury from a list of things you will be handed."

"Then I will be arriving in one hour but this is not the kind of gift that I can just bring in through the main palace doors. And my grandmother needs the apology too, your wonderful daughter-in-law does not respect your royal exemptions apparently."

"A car will pick you both up." The voice said and then hung up.

The moment she got off the phone, without even ordering, T4 said, "I will see what I can gather about the crown princess. All I have so far is her name Yan Ruong, she is a cousin of that woman you can’t stand Yan Daya."

"Ick!" Chi Lian shook her body as if she had heard the name of a ghost. "The Yan family again, I don’t think I have a good fate with those people. No matter how I think about it we are bound to be enemies. Purchase some tiny cameras from the mall, surveilling the Yan family just might save my life or that of my loved ones. I suspect that Yan Daya could also be behind that attempt to drug Muyang. I can’t get the greedy look in her eyes when she was looking at him out of my mind. I would use drones but I have not been getting any from the missions and the available ones in the mall are not up to grade like these ones. I want twenty four hour surveillance both audio and visual in every room of that house."

She went downstairs, Muyang was talking to grandmother at the table. They were speaking carefully in hushed voices, of what they were speaking she did not know.

"Grandmother, we have been invited to the palace by the emperor. A car is coming to pick us up in fifty minutes."

"Eh, why?" the old madam asked. Was it related to the events that had just transpired? How did the emperor find out so soon?

"I did a meritus deed." she responded.
