Chapter 471: The real reason you are here.

Chi Lian smuggled the young girl out of the palace through another gate by getting the princess to call the guards away. Her car with the two guards who escorted her was waiting for her there. She was impressed at their level of professionalism because neither one of them blinked or asked her about the young girl who was covered in a large black coat and pushed first into the car.

They did not turn around even when the girl started sobbing loudly, not even showing a hint of curiosity why the mistress did not bother to comfort the girl or say some soothing words. But it was not that she did not want to comfort the girl, it was simply that the girl needed to cry. Tears could be cathartic and if someone needed a good cry, it was this girl. What she could do was give the young girl a box of tissues and one chocolate bar and a bottle of water.

"Ding! Urgent mission for the host."

"Now?" she asked.

"Yes, this mission is the real reason why you actually came to this empire. You don’t have much time host, it’s just close by."

Mission: Take Yi Sijui back to the empire and hand him over to the emperor.

Reward: One hundred blocks of solid gold.

She told the driver to stop the car and wait for her because she wanted something to buy something. "Don’t let the girl out." she told them. She changed her shoes from heels to sneakers for speed and comfort just before getting out of the car.

"Who is he?" she asked T4.

"A wanted fugitive and active rebel."

"You could have just told me this before I arrived, you convinced me to come here because taking a picture with the princess was a great idea and I am leaving with no picture. Instead I am returning with a child and a rebel, why do I ever trust you?"

"Because good things happen to you when I am with you." he answered. "Turn left from here, the target is exactly twenty steps ahead of you."

This was a busy street, like most streets in LA it was filled with people dancing, singing, holding conversations, standing in line as they waited for their reservations in a restaurant. How was she supposed to kidnap someone in a busy place like this without drawing attention? These streets were full of cameras, smart phones and human eyes. To make it worse, there was a crowd of atleast one hundred or so people demonstrating with posters about something environment related. This was not just difficult it required speed and precision.

"Two steps." T4 announced.

"One, two." she counted them and her steps led her to a hot dog vendor. "A hot dog vendor, really!!"

"What were you expecting?" he asked her sarcastically.

"You said an active rebel I was expecting someone that looks like an assassin, you know the type. Mean eyes, muscles, a scar here and there. This guy looks like an overstuffed teddy bear."

"He has to blend in and he probably eats to many of his own hot dogs. It’s also easy to drop and pass off information this way."

"Scan an image of him and the cart, when I am leaving we can use a realistic life like hologram of him walking away." She suggested.

Standing in one place and looking at the vendor intensely was drawing attention to her so she started walking around from cart to another, looking like any other person that was simply shopping for food, asking about prices and being indecisive.

"Fireworks, It’s the best form of distraction. When everyone looks up I can spray him with some sleeping gas, cover him with an invisible cloth and the you send the entire cart to my storage space."

"Miss, are you going to buy my tacos or not? You are holding up the line." the male food vendor whose stall she was currently standing in front of complained.

"Sorry." she mumbled and walked away. Then she went back into the crowd, found a spot next to a garbage trunk and waited for T4 to deal with the cameras. She looked at the watch on her hand, she had been seven minutes into this mission now. She faced the wall and put on a mask, changing her face.

"Go." he said.

She shot something up in the sky from a green gun five times, quickly returned to the hot dog cart just as the fireworks in the sky started exploding. They were so bright, beautiful and blinding that they drew the attention of most of the people in the crowd. The crowd gained mass and the food vendors panicked, each trying to protect their cart carefully because thieves could easily mix into a crowd like this. For exactly four and a half minutes the attention of everyone would be on the sky.

"Hello miss." the hot dog vendor smiled invitingly. "I knew you would come back.."

"Hi.." she answered, raised her hand and sprayed something in his face. She proceeded to send the cart into her storage space, and then she picked up Yi Sijui who was deeply asleep and carried him over her shoulders. Thanks to the fire works the hologram image replaced the actual vendor briefly before tagging along ten steps behind her and it disappeared around an alley. Since nobody could see what she was carrying anybody that looked at her simply believed that she was one of the many performers on the street or she was just weird. Still she was able to move quickly and find her way back to the car.

The whole thing was done pretty quickly and successfully but her heart was beating very fast. Abrupt missions with no preparation time were really the worst.

She knocked on the driver’s side of the window. "Open the trunk." she told him.

The guard in the passenger seat exited the car to try and help her. "Get back in the car." she told him sternly. Then she bent over and dumped the invisible body in the trunk.

"How long will he be sleeping?"

"Six hours, you need to tie him up really well and dress him in an invisible suit when you get back to the house so that nobody notices him."

She got back in the car and it set off for the manor. The young girl in the back was not crying anymore. To her surprise she was actually sleeping and the chocolate wrapper was on the floor of the car.

Her attention went to the virtual screen and she noticed that the mission was still incomplete. "Why is the mission timer still running, I got him?"

"You have not yet got him out of the country or delivered him to the emperor."

"In that case find a private hangar, send the plane there and the three robot butlers. One of them should act as a pilot, soonest tomorrow we are leaving. I don’t want to be here any longer than I should." The trip was not what she imagined in her head. If she ever received another invitation from a stranger again she would not show up.
