Chapter 446: Is it stress or sleep?

Chapter 446: Is it stress or sleep?

The cars hurried off to the people’s hospital despite Chi Lian’s insistence through out the entire ride that she was doing okay. The old madam was worried about whatever it was that the doctors had seen on the scan of Chi Lian’s brain.

The old madam was also answering phone calls from her husband, the in-laws and Muyang himself.

Chi Lian was truly fine physically, all the exhaustion she was feeling was just making her drowsy and she craved sleep. If she could just shut her eyes and fall on a bed for a few hours she would be fine. Listening to the old madam recount the tale of what happened in the MRI worried her a bit. Was her brain damaged?

"T4, was something detected in the scan of my brain?"

"No, your brain was just hyper active and lit up like a Christmas tree. It should be fine now, you just need to hydrate, eat something and sleep. You will be fine once you do all that, your family members like to exaggerate everything. They are acting as if this is the end of the world, the old woman in particular."

"Didn’t you see the reaction of those doctors? I would be the same if I were her. They acted as if they had seen the next medical marvel. If they had their way I would be handcuffed in an isolated ward somewhere and all sorts of needles would be poking into me with all sorts of EEG’s being conducted."

She tried to twist her body but there was barely any space in the back seat of the car. She was squeezed in with the old madam, Qi Qing and Ai Wei. The sniveling soft sobs being held back forcibly she could assume were coming from Qi Qing.

Every once in a while the old madam would gently caress her head and ask her how she was feeling while calling her baby. This made her wonder where her actual babies were at the moment.

"T4, where are my children?"

"When I last checked they were building plastic blocks with other toddlers of their age in a classroom in the emperor’s courts but now I think they are on their way to you."

’Eh, this has really been blown out of proportion.’ she thought. "Grandma," she raised her head.

The old madam pushed Chi Lian’s head back down on her shoulders.

"Don’t talk, save your energy."

"I am really fine." she said in a small voice.

"We have arrived at the hospital." the old madam told her. "Let the doctor’s check you out first then I will be satisfied."

She did not really have any choice but to exit the hospital and then follow the the doctors for another MRI scan.

"Everything is normal." the doctor said.

"See, I told you everything was okay grandma." she said cheerfully with a know it all look in her eyes.

The old madam was not convinced and she shook her head reluctantly. "Doctor, her nose was bleeding and look at her right she is pale. When I touched her head I could tell that she was slightly sweaty. Her speech was slurring, she was dizzy and she has not stopped yawning. Nothing about any of that is normal."

"I don’t now what it was but all signs point to this being a perfectly healthy woman that could probably be suffering from stress and mild exhaustion. I think the slight redness in her eyes is because she has been working too hard and sleeping less or staring at a computer screen for too long. We can give her some fluids perhaps and keep her overnight for observation.."

"Do that." the old madam said before the doctor even finished his words. "Send us to the ward."

Besides the doctor was an executive director of the hospital who was anxiously on stand by. "Yes old madam, the room has ward was cleaned and new sheets were put on the bed as soon as you called." he said.

"Chi-Chi get on the bed, you can’t be moving around right now."

"Grandma." she whined.

The old madam looked at the bodyguards and Chi Lian saw that ’put her on the bed’ order in the old madam’s eyes so she lay down on the bed herself and she was wheeled to the VVIP ward and transferred to the large bed.

As the doctor personally put a drip on her, the executive director rotated around the old madam.

"Do you need food we have a special arrangement with the royal kitchen for VVIPs."

The old madam nodded, "Doctor, what foods should she eat in this condition?"

"Since she lost blood and we are not sure of the quantity then some blood replenishing foods would do the young madam good. Add some energy boosting foods and fruits because vitamins will be good for her. Start her off with something soft and light before introducing other things."

Qi Qing was furiously noting all this down.

"What are you doing?" Ai Wan whispered to her.

"Recording the doctor’s orders."

Ai Wan showed Qi Qing a small portable recorder, "Buy one of these, it’s cheap and easy to use. But ask your boss for permission before using one, you cannot record her without her say so."

"Thank you big sis." Qi Qing nodded.

At this very moment Chi Lian was drifting off sleep, she could barely hear what was happening. So when Muyang arrived twenty minutes later, she was off in dream land.

He checked om her carefully, touching her forehead to test her temperature and when he ascertained personally form the doctor that she was more than okay, he took a sit on the sofa in the room.

"Grandma, what happened?"

"Well, she was sitting at the table at first, extremely unhappy with the way the trial went. You know how soft spoken she usually is, it surprised me to hear her shout at her lawyers and then slam the laptop shut. It even cracked, that’s how angry she was...this whole mess can only be blamed on that singer."

The old madam narrated everything else bit by bit exactly as it had gone down. She also included the part about the hospital and the doctors who wanted to study her brain.

"Did anyone delete the records? If they still have them then they can do what they want with them."

"Oh." the old madam gasped.

"Spider deleted them, I think." Qi Qing said in a small voice.

"Tell him to come and see me, I need to ascertain this."

"Yes young master."

As more members of the family arrived, the old madam repeated the story over and over until she was exhausted. When the children came it got noisier in the ward as Little monk cried, wanting to sleep with Chi Lian.

Muyang of course knew that his son understood that something was wrong with his mother.

"Your mother is just sleeping." he carried little monk and assured him. "See," Muyang put his little monk’s finger close to Chi Lian’s nose. "She is breathing normally, nothing is wrong with her."

Little monk calmed down but he insisted on staying close to the bed so Muyang left him to sit close to Chi Lian.

A number of conversations were being held in the room but Chi Lian did not hear any of them. One interesting conversation in particular that would change the course of the lawsuit and Moxi’s life was Chi Rui’s suggestion.

"We should have just sent Du Moxi to prison, if we had reported her for fraud she would be in prison right now." Chi Rui was angry with himself. "I have a text proving that she assented to performing for Phoenix media and accepted the money with a promise to put on a good show. It’s as good as a contract, instead of stressing sister out with a lawsuit we should just send her to jail."

"I agree." Muyang said. "Go and make the report, we can handle the rest."
