Chi Rui’s office was occupied by four lawyers in black suits and two bodyguards that were shadowing Du Moxi. She looked so petulant, unapologetic just a bit proud in front of Chi Lian and Chi Rui.

She was dressed in a short white dress, the design was similar to the dress that had she wore on her debut at the camp ground. She was obviously doing this to mock them in a way.

She was adorned in expensive jewelry, the necklace on her neck in particular was outstanding, it was a green sapphire key shaped necklace. It must have cost an arm and a leg to someone like Moxi. She was wealthy but not carelessly throw around money wealthy.

The lawyer sitting in the middle seat took some documents out of his briefcase and placed them in front of Chi Rui on the table.

Another lawyer opened a briefcase of cash and placed it on the table.

Chi Lian raised her foot and kicked the briefcase full of money away. It flew to the side and some bundles of money fell out and landed on the floor. If the money was not tied up in bundles, it would be flying around in the room.

Her actions were rash but her anger had multiplied when she glanced upon the money.

The lawyers were looking at her in shock and Du Moxi had moved her body closer to the bodyguards as if she was terrified.

"Do you think that fifty million impresses me?" she asked the lawyers. "Do you think that money is enough to compensate us for the time and emotions we invested in her?"

"Miss there is no need for violence." the lead lawyer said. "This is a simple issue.."

"Simple!!" she raised her eyebrows. "If your mouth has nothing good to say then shut up and say no more. I want to hear all this directly from the horse’s mouth." she was looking at Du Moxi when she said this.

"Miss.." the lawyer tried to say.

She turned her head to the lawyer and said, "You were not here when she signed her contract therefor I do not care for your words."

"We already know that you are moving to Glory entertainment." Chi Rui told Du Moxi. "You do not need to pretend anymore. I just want to know why you could not come straight to us, look us in the eye and say you wanted to leave. This is a legitimate company not a prison, we would not have refused to let you go."

Du Moxi crossed her legs, as they all watched. She looked forward and said, "I am simply moving to greener pastures, this company is no longer big enough to accommodate me. Glory entertainment has promised to make me the number one female musician in the empire. Next year I will be headlining a carnival in the city of New York in the American empire. " she looked at them haughtily and said, "What else can an up start company like this offer me?

Chi Lian laughed and Du Moxi stopped talking.

"You were paid to perform at my wedding stop making it seem as if you were forced to sing. "

Chi Rui’s mouth opened widely because of the shock he had just experienced.

"So two million to sing four songs for a few hours with periodical rest and refreshments in between is cheap to you?" he asked her.

"I am worth more than two million." Moxi replied proudly. "I have fifty million followers online, I am not that old fat Moxi you pitied. I have outgrown you, it’s time for me to shine on a bigger stage."

She uncrossed her legs, stood up and said, "The lawyers will take it from here. I have to prepare for my performance tonight."

She sashayed out of the room like a top model. Chi Lian had helped her lose weight with medicines from T4’s world. She had blossomed into a beautiful slender woman. Her skin was pale, her lips cherry red.

It was no wonder that other companies could see her value now and they were jumping out of the wood works to get her to switch sides.

Chi Lian leaned back against the chair and she laughed loudly for a minute. Then she grabbed the papers from the desk and perused through them. It was a standard agreement between Du Moxi and phoenix entertainment stating that she was paying the required fee for terminating her contract.

"Thank you so much." the lead lawyer smiled.

She did not reply but she silently watched them leave the office and then she started laughing again.

Chi Rui was worried that maybe she was feeling emotional about the betrayal.

"Sister, it will be okay." He approached her and touched her shoulder.

When he saw the tears in her eyes he leaned down and embraced her.

’What are you hugging me for?" she asked him.

"You are crying." he answered.

"Noooo, I am laughing because Du Moxi is an idiot. You know how they say the devil is in the details. She signed two contracts that day, one that made her a singer with us and another with me that clearly stated she had no copyright over the songs I gave her. Those rights are all mine and I decide the fate of the songs.

Back then I just wanted to make money to pull our family out of poverty as quickly as possible."

Chi Rui was surprised, "Is that why you generously gave her fifty percent of the proceeds from the music videos and downloads."

"Yes, I wanted her to get rich too so that she could enjoy what she was doing. How many companies do you know that do that for a singer that is just starting out. It’s so funny that she does not even remember it. I have legal ownership over almost all of her hit songs. I am going to make sure that she will never sing any of those songs ever again."
