Chapter 336: A home date
She returned home after leaving the hospital. Before getting out of the car, she sent Piggy a picture of doctor He and asked him to send some men to keep an eye on her and track her every move. If she met up with anyone suspicious, they were to take a picture and send it immediately.
They also had to take pictures of every patient that went in and out of the hospital in the coming two days. Nothing could go wrong during this time; a lot was riding on it.
Dai Zhangye had vowed to give her the location of whatever he hid after he confirmed that his face was new and he had money and another identity.
When she returned home, she went and had a birth then went looking for her children. She had not yet seen them all day and she was craving that sweet baby smell.
"Qi Qing, where are my babies?" she asked when she looked around but found no shadow of them.
Even her parents and grandparents were gone.
"They went to the Jun house for dinner,"
As Qi Qing was explaining her phone rung and she answered it because Muyang was calling.
"Hey," she said happily, "I haven’t heard from you all day, have you been busy?" She went on to ask.
"Yes, I was in meetings all day and then I had to be briefed on the plans for the upcoming end of year company party. If I did not have to approve the budget I would not glance at the damn thing, I hate these parties after all." He complained to her vehemently.
"Oooh, my poor baby, it sounds like you have had a hard day." She answered. "Do you want to come over and have dinner just the two of us?"
"Where is everyone else?" he asked curiously.
"They all went to your house to eat, I am here alone. I was about to join them but when you called I figured this is our chance to eat a meal alone. Like a date, only that it will be at home and we don’t need to dress up fancily."
"I will be there in twenty five minutes." He responded.
"See you soon." She answered and hung up.
Since she had declared it to be a date, she wanted to go all out and create a date like atmosphere that felt special rather than plates of food at the dinner table.
She turned around and said, "Qi Qing, quickly tell me what people do if they have dates at home."
Qi Qing froze like a Popsicle once she heard the question. She had also never been on a home date so how could she know.
"Internet," Chi Lian said suddenly as if a light bulb had gone off in her mind.
She searched the words ’ideas for a home date night’ and quickly perused through the results looking for what was both beautiful and convenient.
She mumbled, "Flowers, pillows, candles, wine, games, lights, tents, bed sheets, a make shift fort."
"Miss, you don’t have a lot of time to prepare." Qi Qing said and interfered with her mumbling. She was seeing so many cute little ideas and she wanted to try them all.
"Is there cooked food in the house?" she asked Qi Qing.
"The chef had prepared beef stir fry and fried rice because he assumed nobody was going to eat from home. We ate noodles and short ribs; I think some of it is still left over."
"Hurry, find the chef and ask him to warm up everything and bring it to the parlor. I am going to set up in there since its large enough for one of my family sized tents to fit."
With food taken care of she hurried into the parlor, moved some furniture around and set up the tent. She laid down a thick blanket, placed pillows all around it and placed sweet vanilla scented candles on the sides. Outside the tent, she arranged the candles in the shape of a heart. The Christmas decorations were yet to be taken down so she grabbed some lights and decorated the outside of the tent with them.
She went to the dining room and grabbed some of those fresh flowers that grandma An liked to decorate around the table. She pinched some petals off and dropped them inside and outside the tent.
She asked herself what was missing and checked her phone then rushed to the kitchen and returned with a bottle of red wine.
Muyang came in with a bouquet of flowers just as she was setting up her laptop just in case they decided to watch a movie.
She looked at him, spread her hands wide and said, "Ta-da,"
"Wow!" he exclaimed.
"It’s a date." She said. "I have tried to make it more romantic for us, what do you think?"
He handed her the flowers, kissed her briefly on the lips and asked, "Did you not hear my wow? I mean Woooow! This is so beautiful; I wish I had thought of it when I was planning to propose."
"Then we should go in and enjoy this much needed date. Yo can ask me questions like what is my favorite color." She joked.
When they were comfortably seated, he said seriously, "So, what’s your favorite color?"
She just started laughing and he joined her. "What? I thought you wanted to tell me your favorite color. It’s pink right?"
She laughed some more and they playfully conversed while drinking wine. They said I missed you to each other at least six times and they took turns asking each other questions.
"My turn to ask you a question, what’s your favourite part on my body?" She asked him playfully.
"I have to say your toes." He responded and then he laughed.
"What?" She asked.
"They look like baby carrots." He said with a chuckle.
"No they don’t." She shouted and jumped on him trying to see his toes in turn.
The food was delivered by the chef and Qi Qing as the couple was giggling and they ate ravishingly in between laughter, teasing and jokes.
When they finished eating, she called Qi Qing through the radio and the plates were taken away.
They watched a movie on the laptop while she curled up on his chest and occasionally bit playfully on his neck.
"By the way, what did you give up to get the pink love?" she asked him.
"Half of my stake in a vine yard in an estate in Spain. Seeing the look on your face however once you glanced upon that ring was worth it."
He kissed her fingers and she smiled happily.
"I think this might be our best date yet, she declared."
