Chapter 277: Fu Jui’s guardian

She turned her eyes upon Fu Jui who had been observing her patiently ever since he arrived in her office. It was an impressive feat for a little one like him to be so humble, quiet and well behaved. Children were usually rowdy and jumpy at his age.

"Hello Fu Jui, we have spoken on the phone before, I believe you remember me." She said with a soft dazzling smile on her face to the little boy.

His reply however took her back a little and brought laughter to her.

"Hello boss." Fu Jui responded in a childish voice. This close, she could hear the slight lisp he had.

In every way, little Fu Jui was very adorable. From his looks, to his mannerisms, the little boy did not fail to bring a smile to one’s face.

"Why are you calling me boss?" she asked him.

"Because it’s what these uncles call you." He responded with no hesitation.

Chi Lian nodded and applauded his logic. The best way for one to ingratiate oneself with someone was to copy the mannerisms of those around that person.

"You don’t need to call me that, you don’t work for me. You can call me auntie Chi." She told him.

"But I will work for you in future." Fu Jui replied confidently. "Uncle Piglet said that you could someone with my big brains." He hurried to add.

Chi Lian looked at the two uncles before realizing that Piggy was probably uncle piglet. She chuckled lightly with her eyes closed.

"I am not piglet." Piggy said with a frown.

"Yes uncle." Fu Jui replied softly.

Wenli brought in the chocolate and cookies then she took a seat in another chair.

"Fu Jui," Chi Lian continued addressing the little boy as he drunk the chocolate ravishingly. "I said that I will pay for your education and take care of all your needs not because I want to force you to work for me in future. I want to do it because you are a smart kid and it would be a shame for those smarts to go to waste."

Fu Jui nodded, agreeing one hundred percent with her judgment of his smartness. "But I will still work for you in future, right?"

The boy was determined to work for her it seemed. Chi Lian could not help but wonder why. Was he planted in front of her by someone deliberately?

"T4, have you scanned his brain?"

"I have scanned him host, his mental strength is at S level. From what I can devise, he has an eidetic memory and that’s why he has all that knowledge about the law. He probably grew up reading those books and articles."

"Fu Jui, why are you determined to work for me?" she asked curiously.

"Uncle said that you are very powerful and you can find anyone. If I work for you, you will help me find my sister." The little boy answered her while looking into her eyes sorrowfully.

"What a smart boy." T4 commented.

Chi Lian wanted to leave her seat and go hug the little boy. The way he was looking at her, it looked like she was his only hope. She made her mind up immediately after all, her TV had a special program dedicated to missing women. Adding Fu Jui’s sister would be no different.

She left her chair and approached him. Gently, she took his hand, patted it and said, "Auntie will help you and you don’t have to worry about repaying me by working for me."

"No, Auntie Chi, Fu Jui always repays his debts. I will do my best for you in future." Fu Jui answered in his childish voice.

Chi Lian sighed and gave up. There was no convincing Fu Jui otherwise; he was determined to repay her with his life it seemed.

"Okay, in that case we should sign the contract." She told him and he smiled brightly.

Wenli who already had a prepared contract in the many documents she had deposited on the table brought it and gave it to Chi Lian.

"Can you read and see if you accept the terms? This contract stipulates that I will be your legal guardian from now on. The other terms and conditions are also included but you can point out what you don’t understand."

She explained the contract terms to Fu Jui and he made his own suggestions. Finally, the contract was signed.

"Auntie, do I have to move in with you?" Fu Jui asked.

Chi Lian paused, she had not considered it yet. As his guardian she did have to take him home but only if he wanted.

"Do you want to live with me?" she asked him.

"Can I stay with the uncles?" he asked. Fu Jui had gown attached to Piggy and Squirrel it seemed.

"You can stay with your uncles but you have to come to my home every weekend. You are part of my family now and you have to interact with the rest of the family occasionally." She emphasized to him.

Fu Jui nodded with a smile on his cute face.

With that business concluded, she quickly went through some documents that Wenli had brought for her to sign and then she went down to the spa.

Old tiger had taken her security precautions seriously and planted one of their men at the entrance to each floor. No one was getting in and out of any floor of the building without being identified.

For this reason, when she arrived at the entrance to the spa, even though she was recognized as the boss, she still showed her official ID before being allowed to enter.

Inside, she found a busy running spa, busier than she had assumed the place would be. After all, this was a private spa inside the building and it was meant to be used by employees and those celebrities.

"Boss, boss," a familiar voice called out to her.

She looked to her right where the reception area was and saw Sally waving at her madly with a wide grin on her face.

"Sally!" Chi Lian said the name in shock. Why was Sally here? Since the question was on her mind, she did not hesitate to ask it as soon as she reached the woman.

"Boss, I work for you here now. I am the manager in charge of the spa." Sally replied proudly. The woman then went on to regale her with the process that had led the spa to go from zero visitors to almost thirty a day.

This was not a public spa, whoever wanted to use paid good money for the services. Employees of course got discounts.

According to Sally however, thanks to the oils and skin nourishing lotions and soaps which she gave to mama Chi after being acquired from T4, the female celebrities were flocking the spa endlessly.

One of the first things Chi Lian noticed was that Sally was not referring to herself in third form anymore. The other was that the woman was rejuvenated, excited and happy. She looked years younger and lighter.

"Good job, keep up the hard work." Chi Lian said to Sally when their conversation eventually ended.
