Chapter 204: Rescuing their son[2]
Without patience, she drew her gun which she was carrying on her back and said, "They know we are here and they are carrying their own guns. When we get in there do not hesitate to take down anything that crosses your way. Everyone should be careful, let’s make sure we all go home tonight."
That said, she descended into the underground room, it was brightly lit and it smelled like bleach and disinfectant, just like a hospital.
Old Tiger, Ground mole and two of Muyang’s men quickly went ahead of Chi Lian leading the way like trained mercenaries. Her men were carrying steel bats while Muyang’s men were carrying guns, perks of working for the government.
The first room they entered was empty; it had some medical equipment but nothing else much. The second room was full of cleaning supplies.
"T4," she called impatiently. They could not keep going from room to room; it would simply give these people time to escape.
"Found them host, there is an elevator leading down from where you are. I can only sense heat signatures for now, if you can get a drone down there I can give you a clearer picture."
Chi Lian wanted to curse once again. These people had really pulled out all the stops. On top of an underground lab, they went even further deeper underground to hide just like the rats they were.
"Elevator." She pointed to it.
Old Tiger was the first to reach it, "Boss, this needs a special key card to access."
It was one of those elevators that had no buttons, just like the private elevator in phoenix building. One needed a specific card to open the doors.
Fortunately, T4 made her a card which could bypass all magnetic and electronic locks.
The one thing that made her happy was that the people down there would not try to escape, they would assume that they were very safe since one needed a special card to reach where they were. In fact, once they saw the elevator coming down, they would probably think it’s their guards coming to reassure them that the situation had been handled safely.
When they got in, Chi Lian gave the card to Old tiger so that he could come down with the second group. They could not all fit into the elevator at once.
The first people to go down were Muyang, Chi Wei, two of the triplets and Chi Lian. In her hands was a small drone, the minute the elevator opened, she released it and T4 started scanning quickly.
This was most certainly a lab, a very expensive, clean highly functioning lab. There were at least ten to twelve children here, each of them in an individual glass partition on a bed with wires attached to their heads. IV bags were also attached to their hands.
There was different equipment monitoring their heart rates and brain activity.
There was a screen on the walls in each partition running some kind of simulation. From where they were lying, the children could see the screens.
"Who are you?" a woman in a lab coat and a mask on her face approached them and asked. "You don’t look familiar, are you here to deliver new specimens and why are you wearing masks?"
"Specimens?" Chi Lian said unsurely. Did she mean children? The only people being experimented on here were children after all so they qualified to be called specimen to this woman.
Chi Lian’s heart clenched tightly, she put a hand over her chest. Was her son one of these children or specimens as the woman called them? These were children!!! Little children who were supposed to be playing, eating and being loved by their parents. Instead they were being poked with needles and fed through feeding tubes as though they were invalids. They had been kept here underground for years.
Had any of these children even ever seen the sun? Did anyone comfort them when they cried?
Did these people plan to poke and prod these little children all their lives like test animals? To what end were they willing to go to achieve their dirty goals?
Was T4 right, did some people deserve not to exist at all?
"T4, redeem the evaporating gun." She said coldly.
"You are not part of us." The woman suddenly said in an alarmed voice and she turned around to run.
Chi Lian shot her with her sniper rifle in the back.
"Chi-Chi," Muyang called her name.
"Find our son." She told him.
From there, she went marching like a terminator, shooting anyone who worked in the lab with her ice bullets. They were injured, but they would not die. The military would arrest them and they would serve as an example to others.
She did make sure however, to aim for parts of their body which would ensure that they remained paralyzed forever as long as they did not get immediate medical help. Since they enjoyed feeding little children through tubes, they could also try it out and see how much they enjoyed it.
Old Tiger and the rest of the group took out the other scientists and any other lab worker that they found.
T4 was snapping pictures of the lab and sending them to that number that the emperor gave her. If he wanted legitimate reasons to raid this school, now he had one.
"Old tiger, blow up every computer and destroy any information they have about this crazy experiment." she ordered.
T4 had already accessed the information and downloaded it. She would not allow it to fall into anybody else’s hands. T4 had sent a virus to corrupt the data but she wanted to go the extra mile and destroy the hardware as well.
For all she knew, someone else in the empire or the world had a system too or was highly brilliant and they would try to restore the information as long as the hardware was still working.
In fact, she was going to set fire to this place or destroy it completely before leaving.
"Get all the children and these criminals out as soon as possible. " she told the rest of the team, "The place is set to self destruct in thirty minutes." she lied.
"I have found him." She heard Muyang’s voice through the radio and she took off running in the direction where she had last seen him heading.
She found him standing outside a glass partition labeled Ouyang. They could not quite clearly see the young boy on the bed.
"Are you sure?" she asked.
"Well, Ouyang brought him so it’s safe to assume that he registered him here under his own name. We should take a closer look to make sure it’s him." He replied.
They entered it nervously and approached the bed, not caring about the sound of gunfire and breaking glass around them. This is what had brought them down here.
The first thing they noticed was that the little boy had no hair on his head; it was bald, shining and shaven clean just like that of a monk. He was staring at that screen as if his life depended on it.
"Baby." Chi Lian called unsurely. She wanted him to look at them.
The little boy did not look at them; he ignored their presence completely which made Muyang plant himself in his direct eye view.
The little boy then turned his big brown eyes on Muyang, staring at him angrily with a frown as if he had just interrupted with an important task.
Chi Lian broke down in tears, happy tears just at the sight of his eyes alone. They were just like Mei-Mei’s, in fact exactly like Muyang’s. "It’s him," she said, "It’s our baby Muyang; I have no doubt that it’s him." She sobbed.
