"Sorry, he is just shy right now." she told the dean. "Perhaps we should all move move inside first and maybe some of you could smile."

She made the suggestion, quite unsure if it would be accepted. Etienne Wu had told her that the test started the moment a child stepped foot inside the high walls of Bartholomew. She didn’t want Justin to fail.

"We were not expecting quite a large group." Another man standing besides the dean said. "Let’s move to one of the larger classrooms."

The whole group moved together and went to the one of the classrooms. Everyone found somewhere to sit and they waited for further directions.

They had barely sat down when reporter Jelly and two colleagues joined them.

"Hi everyone, hope we are not late." she greeted them, whispering the words so as not to be too loud.

Before they could reply, in walked RGB captain Zorl. He was dressed casually in jeans, a shirt and black boots. He had a black coat thrown on top and his hands were in the pockets. He had the appearance of someone who belonged there as if he had been invited or was one of the family.

"Ho!" Esong exclaimed. "We didn’t invite you." He looked around at the others. "Who invited him?"

It was almost as if he seen his worst enemy in the world, an enemy he couldn’t bear to share the same air with.

"Are you here to sabotage my son’s battle?"

"Why would I sabotage a five year old child? Is this how you mecha warrior’s analyze things? No wonder you are all fists first and brains later." Zorl could not help sneering at Esong who was making crazy assumptions.

Esong got to his feet and demanded loudly, "That’s it, you and me, out now. We can have that battle we keep putting off."

Calls of ’calm down, relax, take it easy,’ came from different people in the room.

"Many years later and you are just the same young Esong." Dean Laroix tsked and shook his head. Hot headedness was Esong’s biggest vice in the opinion of the dean. That and his unnatural ability to crush things with his bare hands when his whenever his emotions overwhelmed him.

"I am not the same, I will not fight." Esong sat down. "But that man cannot be trusted."

Zorl rolled his eyes and looked at the front of the classroom where Jelly was setting up a standing drone. "Don’t get it twisted, I came with my girlfriend because your wife wants your son’s battle broadcast live to prove a point I guess."

Esong turned to his wife, and he was not the only one. Why, they wondered would Justin’s battles be broadcast?

Seeing most eyes on her, she explained to them what her intentions were. "I need people to see that Justin can defend himself and if he wanted to he could have done so on that playground but he simply chose not to. There are those who called him weak and those who mocked him.

I need them to know that just because I am pulling him out of his old school does not mean that he is weak. He is just considerate and in his words, ’I told him not to beat girls."

"Are you allowing this dean Laroix?" Etienne pointed to Jelly and her drones.

"It’s not just for the student but the school as well. We require all of our students to have a stellar reputation. Young Lord Justin must earn the respect of the public and his peers on his own, without the help of his mother." The dean gestured at Esong and pointed to Justin.

He wanted Esong to bring Justin to the front. Five more adults, teachers from the colors of their bodysuits entered the classroom and took up seats.

Esong lowered his head and whispered something to Justin which made the little one nod. He let go of Scarlet put on a serious face and got down from the chair. He followed after his father trying to match his steps and pace.

Adler was the closest person to Scarlet, sitting on her other side. She poked his arm and asked, "What are they doing?"

"I am guessing that Justin is going to be asked a few questions before he is connected to a virtual battleground and thrust into some kind of simulation."

"There will be a physical battle after." Mega joined in and told Scarlet.

She was sitting directly behind Scarlet she bent forward carefully to tell her this.

Scarlet whirled around and asked her, "He won’t have to fight one of the adult teachers, will he?"

"Yes." her father confirmed.

Mega knocked her knee against her husband’s knee. "Don’t scare her. Your father is joking. The virtual simulations will allow the teachers to judge which specific grade and class Justin will be assigned to. They will choose one of the best students in that class to battle him and then grade him."

"Does he have to win?" Scarlet asked her mother.

"No, but he has to pass their acceptable standard." She put a hand on Scarlet’s shoulder and re-assured her. "It’s okay, Justin has been trained by Esong, Adler, Celia, Lora and Tion. If there is a child that was born to ace this test, it’s our Justin."

Scarlet grabbed her mother’s hand and kept it where it was. She was nervous for Justin, scared even.

"All my precious deities, please let him excel." she prayed, in her heart.

She had been oozing with confidence before but now she was more nervous than she had been before. It reminded her of her past when it was time for those final exams that decided whether you would go to the university or not. To think that such an intense feeling could come from an entrance examination of a five year old.

"Prayers answered, remember to light some good incense for me and send me some good food." The goddess of love responded.

"You, Love! Why....you know what, never mind. Thank you." She did not specify a deity when she was praying so any of them could respond.

She was actually lucky that it was not chaos, war, pestilence or one of the god of hatred that answered that prayer.

However, the goddess of love was also not exactly her target deity when she made that prayer, the god of wisdom was. If there was ever a time for that deity to pay a visit to one of his worlds, Scarlet preferred it to be now.

He could break down the soul high factory structure and also lend Justin a helping hand. Sadly, he was missing in action, as always. If she ever found him, she would give him a very honest opinion on his mismanagement of his world.

"They have started." Adler whispered to her.

She turned all of her attention to the front. Justin’s small body was standing in the middle of the room, facing a group of eight stern faced teachers. His mouth was moving, but she couldn’t hear a single thing__, no one could.

"Dammit! They have triple blocked all sound." Adler cursed.
