"So we have just witnessed the exchange of what might possibly be the most luxurious and expensive engagement gifts in the history of the empire."

A female tv host that was covering what was now dubbed the best royal engagement said. She was not hosting alone as she had a male co-host who was all too happy to chime in.

"The royal family has been gifted and entire horse farm sitting on land large enough to house an entire district. I am struggling to calculate how much that could be."

The female tv host smiled and replied, "Luckily we don’t have to calculate because the citizens are already doing so for us. According to opinion polls on star net the farm is valued at three billion star coins and if you factor in the cost of the land, two hundred billion star coins."

The male host gasped and looked at the cameras with wide eyes.

"Holy.., wow..., the Su’s have matched the royal family toe to toe when it comes to the monetary value of the engagement gifts."

"Yes, this is not being called the most expensive engagement in the history of the empire without a good reason." The female host said.

On star net, the two hundred billion star coin valuation quickly travelled through circles and became a headline which caused all sorts of debates.

The female host smiled coyly and said, "It’s time for the mama Su to bring out the most precious gem of the day and our incoming crown princess, Carolyn Su. Arguably the most envied woman in the empire now, her unveiling is highly anticipated."

"What colors do you think she will be wearing?" The male host asked.

The female host put a hand over her mouth as if she was whispering and said, "I have it on good authority that she is wearing green, and that her appearance will blow everyone’s mind."

Scarlet commanded in an agitated voice, "Alex, turn the tv off."

"Lets’ go." Mega told all the women in the room.

The women, with smiles on their faces as they were in love with their new outfits, and jewels eagerly shuffled their feet and hurried to the door. There was no organization to their movement and they appeared to be more eager to show themselves off__, much more eager than Carolyn whose day it was.

"Wait," Scarlet told them. "we must do this in an orderly manner."

Outside the door of the dressing room, a loud horn bellowed.

"The royal guards are here." Mega Su said hastily, in a whisper like voice. A smile bloomed on her face and she took Carolyn’s hand. "Let’s go."

Scarlet stopped them however by putting one hand out. "She needs to be in the middle. Me, Fey and Halley will be at the front. Mina, Lena, Kakai..." She mentioned names and arranged the others around Carolyn.

In their midst was Carolyn whose veil was lowered to cover a part of her face and Mega Su who was staring at her daughter with delight, adoration and tenderness.

"We must move together, slowly. Remember that we are bringing out the most precious gem of the day." Scarlet quoted the words of the female tv host.

The others snickered and laughed, including Carolyn herself. With the change of outfit, make-up, surrounded by her sisters and the entourage, she had gained a lot of confidence.

"Now let’s go." Scarlet told them.

Three Su sisters stepped out of the door first. Halley, put her hand in Scarlet’s and another in Fey’s

Scarlet looked down at her sister and shook her head. She also gently removed her hand from the little one’s and said, "Like this."

She placed one hand over the other on her lower belly and the others mimicked her. Then, Scarlet guided their movements with verbal commands, "Right foot, left foot, right foot, left foot."

And so they moved, gently and slowly, led by nine royal guards who protected them from the front, and sides until they arrived at the door leading into the ball room.

Inside, the bellow of a horn was heard again. It was not standard practice to do this at engagements but this engagement was different because it was a royal one. Not just to any royal but the soon to be crowned crown prince.

As soon as they heard the sound of that horn, the mood in the room was switched. The suddenly vibrant and loud environment calmed down. All eyes moved to the entrance and many hearts beat in anticipation.

None, was beating harder or faster than that of Markay. He was so nervous that he gripped Esong’s arm, pinched and then twisted.

Esong scowled but he didn’t tell Markay to let go. It was a sacrifice that he was wiling to make as the best friend. However, later, much later, he would return this painful pinch.

Blad, the speaker of the Blue star was there in attendance to do his duties.

"All rise for the in coming crown princess."

The reporters who had been assigned a special seating area rose up much quicker than the guests. Their drones which were inconspicuously hiding amidst the designs on the ceiling zoomed in on the doors.

The deciding moment had come, would the incoming crown princess bedazzle or horrify? This would be her first official image as a member of the royal family. It would be included in history books and passed down for later generations to see.

There were mixed feelings in their groups as some hoped to see her amaze the masses and others hoped that she did the opposite. It would be better for the news, ratings and sales if she was a mess.

The doors slid open and everyone held their breath in anticipation, not knowing what to expect. The royal guards stepped aside first and finally, they had the first glimpse of Carolyn’s entourage.

The three Su sisters first, dressed similarly in royal blue and gold silk. Adorned in gold jewels and their hair tied at the back or flowing down with round white flower hair bands or crowns.

That alone, was enough to bedazzle the masses.

Scarlet had already prepared the music before hand and given Alex instructions. The moment they took the first steps into the ballroom a song named how long will I love you started to play.

They walked slowly, in an orderly way, like one entity with beautiful smiles on their faces.

As they moved, guests from far and wide, in the room, outside the castle or in their homes were bedazzled. The only thing that was left to see was Carolyn, herself.
