Transmigrated Into The Body Of The Cursed Prince Wife -
Chapter 146: "I’ve missed you."
Chapter 146: "I’ve missed you."
Far away from the loud and noisy hall, inside one of the many chambers arranged for the guests who were temporarily staying in the imperial palace, the ambassador of Banzai Kingdom tried to groom himself in front of the mirror. He had changed into a fine gold robe that made his rounded large belly, narrowed waist, and flat board fanny more prominent, with the center of his head where the thinning hair had been lost to age shining as greased leather under the sun.
He smiled in anticipation as he tried to smooth the little hair he had left on his head in place. He had watched as the girl danced in the hall and how the blouse she wore had clung to breasts that looked and seemed as ripe as a mango waiting to be plucked from the tree. She was beautiful, he admitted, so beautiful it would be a waste for a man like him not to have a taste of her before he departed from the imperial palace.
The thought of her alone sent his blood rushing through his veins and made him as excited as a young boy in heat. He hadn’t been able to sleep the whole night last night because he had been thinking about the redheaded woman and looking forward to their time alone today.
Who knows, if possible, he might end up making a bargain with the Empress to take the girl back with him to Banzai in exchange for his loyalty to the third prince. She was worth such bargaining, with her beauty and talent. It was a surprise he hadn’t noticed her earlier in all of his visits to the imperial palace until now. She had bloomed even more than he saw her last year.
The ambassador smiled at his reflection, satisfied with what he saw and how wonderful he felt. He caressed the beard at his jaw and then rubbed his cheeks before he looked around. Everything was set—the wine and the chamber—thus he moved to go and sit down and wait for the girl. But he heard faint approaching footsteps and grinned from ear to ear. She was here sooner than he’d expected; it seemed the Empress was as eager as he was to seal their deal.
He hurriedly sat down on the sofa and reached out to pour himself wine into the gold goblet on the table. As he heard the doorknob turn and then the door crack open, since he wasn’t looking and was busy pouring his wine, he smiled as he heard the door close and then the approaching footsteps.
"You must be thirsty after such an intense dance, Milady. Come join me so you can feel refreshed before we get on with our—" he was saying as he looked up after pouring the wine for himself, holding the goblet in his hand. However, he stopped short as his eyes fell on the person standing at the door, staring at him with a smile he always found unsettling. He frowned as he wondered what this person was doing here when he had been expecting the redheaded woman.
"With that look on your face, My Lord, I reckon you are not expecting me here but someone else," the person at the door remarked as he walked into the chamber and sat down at the edge of the bed while his eyes were still locked on the ambassador, a smile still playing on his lips. "Am I right?" he questioned.
The ambassador hurriedly schooled his expression and put up a smile that mirrored his unease at the presence of the person he hadn’t invited and had no reason to be here in his chamber at this time of the night. "Of course not, I just didn’t expect you to come here. What brings you here? Do you have something to talk about?" he asked as he sipped his wine to hide his frustration and irritation at being interrupted when the woman must be on her way now.
The person chuckled as he leaned back on the bed with the heels of his palms flat on the mattress as he cocked his head to the side and studied the ambassador’s face, which looked red from irritation.
"I have a lot to talk to you about, My Lord. Like how you are here sitting and waiting for a girl who could be your granddaughter so you could nudge your fat old testicles into her. Tsk, don’t you feel ashamed of yourself? What do you think your wife and grandchildren would think once they hear about your shameless bargain with the Empress?" He arched a brow in dark amusement as he sized up the fat old man with his eyes.
The ambassador dropped his goblet and jerked up to his feet in a speed that shook the sofa and then looked down at the person. "Your disrespect towards me shall not be tolerated. I would like you to leave my chamber immediately!" he rebuked furiously as he pointed to the door. He had a big family back in Banzai, and he knew if they were to know he had taken a woman as young as that redheaded woman, they would not only be disappointed in him, they would mock him.
The amusement in the person’s face immediately disappeared as quickly as a cat chasing after its prey. His expression turned displeased as he stood to his feet and towered over the elder man with a dark look in his eyes. "You sure have a big mouth, Soran. I will leave your chamber, however, not before I have finished my business with you," he drawled in a chillingly cold tone as he retrieved a dagger from his waist that made the ambassador take a step back, but then he ended up falling on the sofa behind him.
Looking from the dagger in his hand to the person’s face, he demanded angrily, "What do you think you are doing pulling out your dagger? Before I call the guards to throw you out, I want you out of my chamber!" he warned, looking towards the door.
"Go ahead and call the guards. If you have a voice loud enough to reach the hall, perhaps they’d hear you from there where they all are trying to get the leftover meals from the servants," said the person with an almost bored voice as he began to roll up the sleeves of his shirt. "This is going to be a long night for you and I, My Lord, because I intend to decorate you to the point where your soul will bear the mark I will leave on your body. Tell me what kind of mark you’d like me to give your fat, saggy testicles, hmm?" He looked down at the trembling ambassador with a dark smirk playing on his lips.
The ambassador gripped the armchair as he felt chills go down his spine at those words. "Y-you are sick in the head. I have always known you are sick but nobody wants to believe that. Do you think you can get away with hurting me? You—"
"Who said I want to hurt you?!" the person gritted as he leaned down towards the trembling ambassador, his both hands gripping the arms of the sofa as he caged the elder man on the seat. "I don’t want to hurt you, I just want to skin you alive, My Lord. I want to cut you limb by limb until you regret the minute you made a deal to have the body of a woman precious to me."
"A... a woman precious to you? Wh-what are you talking about? You don’t even know her, how is she precious to you?! I didn’t do anything to..." He couldn’t finish his sentence, he couldn’t dare even move as the blade of the dagger moved dangerously close to his throat where if he were to speak, it would cut him. He began to pee himself as he knew he was going to die; he wet the sofa and trembled so hard his bones were audibly quivering.
"She or anybody might not have known it, but she is the most precious woman in my life and she will forever be, and whoever, and I mean it, whoever dares to harm or touch her... shall be granted the worst death in history. Saron, you have fallen into one of those people now, and for that, your fate has been sealed," his voice as deep and darkly quiet as he said. "Give the Devil in hell my greetings, because that is where you’ll spend the rest of your after life."
The ambassador’s eyes widened in horror, but before he could even scream or do anything, his vocal cords were cut off right before his eyes, and what followed after that was something no one would have wanted to witness or see. His death was the worst of any in history.
Away from the chamber where the ambassador lay at the mercy of the person who had invaded him, in the corridors that led to the chamber, Ave walked behind the maid who was leading her to who knows where as she walked unsteadily and tried to get her eyes to focus, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t get the corridors to stop spinning around. She had been just fine until now.
Ave didn’t know what was wrong with her but her body was suddenly acting funny, it was like she had been drunk. She giggled at the notion, how could she be drunk when she didn’t drink anything alcoholic?
"Where are we going?" she questioned the maid as she shook her head to stop the dizziness and the ringing in her head, not to mention the heat that was slowly curling its way through her body and making her feel uncomfortable.
"To show you your present, Milady," came the maid’s voice. But before Ave could register anything that was happening or why they hadn’t reached the room where her so-called present was, she felt someone pull at her wrist and tug her into a corner, and before she could react to the sudden tug, she was enveloped in a familiar warm embrace where she felt the person’s arms around her waist and then his head resting in the crook of her neck where his warm lips pressed against her skin.
"I’ve missed you," he whispered against her neck, and she found herself relaxing into his warm embrace, basking in his familiar scent that enveloped her like his strong arms did.
