Transmigrated as the fake young master, I'll beat up the scumbags and b*tches -
Vol. 1 - Ch. 327 - New Teacher
The rain was pouring down hard.
Han YunXi stood motionless, staring at the downpour outside.
She had originally planned to walk home by herself—but she hadn’t expected it to rain like this. And to make matters worse, she’d even given her umbrella to a classmate so they could go home more easily.
Now, standing here staring at the torrential rain, a quiet melancholy stirred within her.
If this were before… HuMing would’ve shown up here, wouldn’t he? He would’ve come to take her home.
Ever since HuMing left, the house had grown noticeably quieter. Even though she knew he was doing well with the Gu family, a part of her—selfish as it was—still hoped he might come back.
But she also knew… that was wishful thinking.
HuMing was thriving in JingDu now, doing better than most could dream of. Not to mention, his position in the Gu family was something ordinary people could only envy.
Leaning against a pillar, Han YunXi quietly watched the rain, then pulled out her phone and checked the message from her father.
He’d already sent someone to pick her up. She just needed to wait here.
“Hmm? YunXi, you haven’t gone home yet?”
Startled, Han YunXi turned around.
A tall, elegant woman with striking features was walking toward her, cradling a stack of books—likely school materials. The sight of her made Han YunXi instinctively straighten up.
“Hello, Ms. Hu. You’re still here? I thought you’d already gone back to the dorm.”
“I was just in the office grading assignments. Everyone’s been working really hard lately—probably trying to get good scores before finals.” Ms. Hu smiled, the corners of her lips lifting gently.
Her smile had a warmth that could effortlessly brighten the mood around her.
Han YunXi had even heard rumors that some students saw Ms. Hu as their ideal romantic partner.
But it was strange—despite her approachable demeanor, Ms. Hu remained elusive, impossible to really get close to, like trying to press into dough that just refused to take form.
At times, Han YunXi felt Ms. Hu didn’t quite fit the image of a teacher at all. Something about her didn’t align with the role.
“Ms. Hu, why are you still here? The staff dorms aren’t far from this side of campus. Are you going to run back in the rain?”
“I’m not in a rush. But what about you? Did you tell your family to pick you up?”
“I did. If you don’t mind, I can walk you back to your dorm after they come.”
“Would that be alright?”
“Of course.”
They stood together in silence as the school grounds grew increasingly empty. Unlike the typical aloofness of other teachers, Ms. Hu turned to the girl beside her and asked in a soft tone:
“YunXi… I heard your family used to be quite complicated. Would you mind telling me about it?”
Han YunXi blinked in surprise. She hadn’t expected her teacher to bring up something so personal.
Normally, teachers wouldn’t ask such things.
But looking at Ms. Hu again, it hit her—she couldn’t be much older than twenty. A young woman freshly out of college. A little gossip wasn’t that surprising.
Although Han YunXi didn’t like talking about the person now sitting in prison, it wasn’t a forbidden topic. With the rain pouring around them, she spoke freely.
Ms. Hu quietly listened as Han YunXi talked about the past—about Han ShuYi’s arrival, HuMing’s transformation, Han ShuYi’s schemes… Her voice trembled slightly when she reached the more painful parts, but she didn’t hold back. The past was the past. No point in getting tangled in it anymore.
What she cared about now was simply studying well at school.
Unknowingly, her way of thinking had become more and more like HuMing’s. She really was starting to embrace the “whatever” attitude.
“YunXi… what do you think of HuMing?”
“Him? At first, he was impossible to like. I mean, with all the ridiculous things he did, I didn’t even want to bring them up—it’s too embarrassing. But… he really did change. He became motivated, easy to talk to… Even Ye QiuXue—our former student council president—became his friend.” Her smile was tinged with bitterness.
“Honestly, it was hard to believe. Back then, no one wanted anything to do with him. But Ye QiuXue didn’t give up on him—not even once. Sometimes I think… she’s really incredible. She never abandoned anyone, no matter how bad things got.”
To Han YunXi, that had been the biggest wake-up call.
As his sister, even she hadn’t believed in HuMing back then.
It was obvious—she hadn’t really known him at all.
“Hearing you talk, that student council president must’ve been amazing. It’s a pity I wasn’t teaching here at the time. I would’ve loved to meet her.”
“She was wonderful. But I think she’s decided to keep studying in JingDu. The principal was pretty disappointed about it for a long time—Ye QiuXue was someone you could truly rely on.”
Ms. Hu nodded, then glanced toward the school gate.
“Your car’s here. You should head home.”
“Huh? But I said I’d walk you back.”
“I’ll go when the rain eases up a little. You go now—you’ll catch a cold out here.”
“…Okay then.”
The driver came running over to escort Han YunXi to the car. Ms. Hu watched her leave, then quietly lowered her gaze to her phone.
The forecast didn’t say anything about the rain letting up soon. And if she ran back in this outfit… she might end up showing more than she intended.
She sighed, just about to lift her books over her head to run out—when suddenly, Han YunXi’s driver came running back. This time, he held a second umbrella.
“Miss Han wanted me to give you this, Ms. Hu. That way, you’ll have a safe trip home.”
“Ah… thank you.”
“No need to thank me,” the driver said with a nod, then turned and left.
Ms. Hu stared after the car as it drove off, then raised an eyebrow as she glanced at the pink umbrella in her hand.
“That Han girl really is a sweet one… That brat HuMing must’ve racked up some serious karmic points in his past life…”
She was just about to open the umbrella and leave when suddenly—her brows drew tight.
Her body slumped against the pillar, slowly sliding down.
She pressed a hand to her chest, breathing growing ragged.
Sweat poured down her forehead like the rain outside.
But she didn’t make a single sound. It was like… she was used to this.
No one knew how much time passed before she finally stood up again, her eyes sharp as blades.
On her chest, a lanyard flipped over.
It showed a photo ID—her work badge, with her name printed clearly beneath.
No one would’ve guessed—
That someone missing for years… would be hiding in plain sight at this school.
And no one would’ve expected—
That she was still using her old name.
HuMin raised the umbrella and stepped out into the rain. Her heels splashed into puddles with silent precision.
“That kid… how did he get here? Didn’t I tell him… to live a quiet life?”
Her gaze dropped to a manhole beneath the water—
Then swiftly turned away.
