Chapter 61: 060 Arm Wrestling_2

Sisi Tian was seated next to Xinhua Tian and Chengsi He. Xuewen He noticed that everyone seemed unsurprised that Sisi was seated up at the table for the meal, which probably meant it was a usual occurrence for her. He gained a new understanding of Sisi’s favored status in the Tian Family and felt even more grateful towards them.

The Old Man signaled Xinhua to pour drinks for everyone at the table. He picked up his cup first and toasted to Xuewen He and his son, "Today, we really must thank you, Mr. He, and your son for your heroic assistance. I, Liu Jin Tian, will drink first as a sign of respect."

Xuewen He, with a beaming smile, was about to drink from his cup when Chengsi, who was next to him, stopped him, "Grandpa Tian, let me drink on behalf of my Daddy, please. My Daddy has been injured before and shouldn’t drink."

"It’s fine, Daddy’s happy today, a little drink won’t hurt." As he said this, Xuewen coughed lightly, clearly vexed, thinking to himself how disappointing his weak health was.

"If he really can’t drink, then better not to. Drinking is just for fun, as long as our intentions are conveyed, that’s enough. Mr. He, instead of drinking, you should eat more dishes." The Old Man noticed that Xuewen’s health was indeed poor, probably due to a previous lung injury.

Sisi’s heart stirred; she remembered the "Lung Nourishing Wine" she had brewed in the Space a few days ago. It should be ready by now. Uncle He had a lung injury, right? Perhaps drinking the Lung Nourishing Wine would help him recover. She didn’t know why, but she just couldn’t stand seeing Xuewen He in pain. Her heart felt uncomfortable every time she saw him cough.

"It’s okay, Chengsi is just too worried about my health. Today, I’m truly happy. Drinking a little will be fine." Xuewen He indeed wanted to drink some wine. Since he became ill, he hadn’t touched a drop of alcohol for nearly a decade. It was ironic for a successor of a prestigious wine-brewing family to be unable to drink wine.

Moreover, the Liu that the Tian Family brewed smelled so good that even a hint was enough to tempt him. If he didn’t have a few drinks now, he wouldn’t even be able to sleep. Sisi couldn’t help but chuckle to herself; who would’ve thought the grand Uncle He was such a wine enthusiast.

"Grandpa, I remember you have some mild liquor. Uncle He should be okay with that. I’ll go get it." Sisi said sweetly to the Old Man.

At first, the Old Man was puzzled, but then he remembered that Lord Bai Yuan must have given Ah Nan some exquisite wine again. He nodded and said, "Yes, yes, yes, I would’ve forgotten if Ah Nan hadn’t mentioned it. Go fetch it, quickly."

Sisi responded and dashed to the Old Man’s room. She closed the door and entered the Space, pouring out a bottle of the ready "Lung Nourishing Wine." She scampered back, first offering it to the Old Man, who declined—he didn’t want any low-proof liquor. After a stern look from Sisi, however, he agreed.

The others at the table found this amusing, as Ah Nan was the only one who could take charge of the Old Man. Xuewen He sniffed the wine in his cup, felt a sense of warmth, and collided his cup with the Old Man’s. He finished the drink in one gulp. The wine flowed down his throat and seemed like a clear spring reaching his chest, moisturizing his dry lungs. For ten long years, his lungs had never felt so comfortable, like a parched fish finally returning to the river.

The Old Man felt the same and was first joyful and then panicked. How could Ah Nan serve guests with such an Immortal Wine? What if someone discovered it? Sensing the Old Man’s concern, Xuewen He asked with a light smile, "Old Man, you must have soaked some medicinal herbs in this wine? It tastes a bit like medicine. Not bad at all, this is a fine wine."

Relieved, the Old Man quickly responded, "What do I, a simple old countryman, know about medicinal herbs? It’s just some local herbs from the mountains that I’ve infused. If Mr. He finds it good, please drink more."

At the table, everyone was drinking merrily cup by cup, while Sisi busily served dishes to Chengsi He, who accepted without hesitation. Since he saw Xuewen He drink and cough less, Chengsi felt at ease, lowered his head, and ate heartily. Over the past few years, he and his Daddy had been wandering all around, seldom cooking for themselves, usually eating in restaurants. Though he could always fill his stomach, none tasted as good as Granny Tian’s cooking.

Xinhua Tian, seeing Sisi constantly urging the big.simple Chengsi to eat and even giving him the chicken leg that was meant for him, felt a sour taste in his heart, like drinking a bowl of vinegar. Humph, wasn’t it just that he had thrown Ah Nan out of a pit? If he had been there at the time, how would this simpleton have gotten the chance to show off?

"Little brother, is your name Chengsi He? What ’Cheng’ and what ’Si’ are those?" Xinhua Tian coughed deliberately and asked.

"The ’Cheng’ as in inherit and the ’Si’ as in ponder." Chengsi He swallowed a large piece of meat and stated his name, sizing up Xinhua Tian and seriously saying, "You can’t call me little brother; I am much stronger than you. I am definitely older than you, so you should call me brother."

Xinhua Tian felt a burst of frustration, dissatisfied with the aspect of himself that looked too delicate. Despite having plenty of muscles, his appearance made him seem thin, fittingly described as "looks thin but is muscular to the touch." Hence, he was the most diligent practitioner of martial arts in the Tian Family, and the best at it.

The competition between them was evident. "That’s not necessarily true. You might look strong, but I might have more strength than you!" Xinhua Tian lost his usual composure under Chengsi He’s provocation, making challenging eye contact.

"Then let’s see who’s stronger. Let’s have an arm-wrestling match. Whoever wins is the brother." Chengsi He also lost his temper. This pale-faced kid, whiter than a woman, spoke with such a peculiar tone. Humph, did he hold a grudge just because he ate his two chicken legs? What a petty guy!

In truth, Chengdian He wasn’t foolish at all, just simple-looking. He had noticed Xinhua Tian’s annoyance when Sisi Tian gave him the chicken legs. He was originally planning to be polite, but seeing the pale-faced kid’s expressions, he deliberately accepted the food cheerfully and enjoyed seeing him looking so downcast without being able to say anything.

"Let’s compete, come on." Clearing a space on the table, Xinhua Tian pushed the bowls and chopsticks aside, took off his cotton coat, and waved over Chengsi He.
