Chapter 516: Chu Xing
Qin Yan was not bothered by the popularity of Dr. Q. Instead, she was busy with her own work. Since Xu Dong was injured, the managerial work of Starlight Entertainment had fallen on her shoulders. Thus, she was even busier than usual.
As she was sorting out some scripts in her hand, Xi Ting entered the living room with measured steps, the soft glow of the evening sunlight filtering through the curtains, casting a warm and serene ambiance in the room. He took a seat beside Qin Yan on the comfortable, well-worn couch.
Seeing Xi Ting sit near her, Qin Yan put down her work and looked towards him. Him sitting so quietly beside her was rare as in normal conditions, Xi Ting would either tease her or sit opposite to her doing his own work.
"What’s the matter?" Qin Yan asked carefully.
Xi Ting gazed into Qin Yan’s eyes and replied, "The results of the investigation regarding your DNA test are out."
Qin Yan, sitting beside Xi Ting, exuded a sense of quiet anticipation. Her gaze was fixed on him, her eyes searching for answers, "Did you find anything?"
Xi Ting nodded, his tone unwaveringly steady, "I’ve investigated Fang Zichen and Han Cheng, and it turns out they are going to adopt a daughter named Chu Xing."
Qin Yan listened to Xi Ting’s revelation about the adoption of Chu Xing with a mixture of emotions, but as the pieces of the puzzle fell into place, a new suspicion started to emerge in her mind. She had always been a perceptive person, and this revelation raised questions that couldn’t be ignored.
With a thoughtful expression, she turned to Xi Ting and said, "Ah Ting, it seems that Chu Xing had a hand in interfering with the DNA test results. If the results had shown that I was Fang Zichen’s biological daughter, it would have meant that I stood to inherit her property and assets."
While Fang Zichen might not have had significant assets of her own, everyone knew that Han Cheng’s assets were predominantly in his wife’s name. This was because Han Cheng loved Fang Zichen dearly and he felt that everything he earned should belong to his wife.
Xi Ting nodded in agreement with Qin Yan, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.
"You’re right, Yan Yan," Xi Ting responded, his own thoughts aligning with hers, "I also had the same thoughts."
As Qin Yan and Xi Ting contemplated the complexities of the situation, they arrived at a unanimous decision: the need to conduct another DNA test. Given the doubts, suspicions, and potential tampering with the previous test, it was the most logical and transparent way to arrive at the truth.
Qin Yan turned to Xi Ting and said, "Ah Ting, I believe the best course of action would be to have another DNA test. This time, we need to ensure it’s conducted with the utmost integrity and under strict supervision to eliminate any doubts. In fact, I will ensure that the test is conducted in my laboratory."
"However," Xi Ting said, "We need a DNA sample of Mrs. Han again. To accomplish this, it is necessary for Mrs. Han to visit us. And for this, we need her to come to C Nation."
Qin Yan was deep in thought. After a while, she replied, "I have a solution."

M Nation.
Capital University.
[Did you know that we got a new student?]
[Yeah, I know. This new girl literally came out of nowhere. I have to admit that the Han family is too powerful. They get to drop anyone they want into universities, even prestigious ones like the Capital University!]
[Everyone’s trying to butter her up hard. They aren’t treating her with any anger. Everyone’s trying to get to her in order to get close to the Han family.]
[To me, that this girl has some tricks up her sleeves. I heard she’s easily sick and for some reason, she was admitted into the Han family. It’s only been a few days since she appeared, yet she’s now considered one of the daughters from the richest families in town.]
[Do you see Lou Yufei and Fu Siying sitting beside her? They were terrified that they wouldn’t be friends and are talking to her now.]
Students of the capital university were discussing with one another about the new girl that had admitted into the university, Chu Xing. Since, she was the girl who was about to be recognized by the Han family, many people wanted to curry favor with her.
Lou Yifei and Fu Siying were buttering Chu Xing. Lou Yifei asked, "Xing’er, I heard that in a few weeks, the Han family is going to formally introduce you to everyone as a part of the Han family. Is it true?"
Chu Xing nodded gently.
Lou Yifei exclaimed, "Xing’er, you are so lucky. This indicates that the Han family is determined to treat you as their own."
Fu Siying pulled on Chu Xing’s brand-named clothes, "Obviously they treat Xing’er as their own. Do you see this? This is bought for Xing’er by Mrs. Han! It’s so obvious how much they love Xing’er."
[The Han family isn’t just a big corporate family. The Han couple does not have any child. It should be pretty obvious how spoiled Xing’er is there.]
[Her status is likely incomparable in this entire country.]
[When she gets married in the future, she will be married off as the daughter of the Han family. With the Han family backing her, who dares to ask about the family she was born into?]
[Now, Xing’er is one of the hottest commodities in our community. After all, if you get to marry Xing’er, you would get the support of the Han family!]
As Chu Xing listened to Lou Yufei, her happiness was through the roof. It was beyond her wildest imagination for her to be where she was today. This made all her cruelty worth it. Chu Xing was still crowded by a bunch of people when Han Cheng personally came to pick her up.
Chu Xing hurriedly walked over, "Uncle, why are you here?"
Han Cheng’s smile was like the spring wind, "I came to pick you up."
Before Chu Xing could speak, the girls behind her began to exclaim.
[Xing’er is so spoiled! Her father is so nice to her!]
[Oh my god! Isn’t she the luckiest?]
Han Cheng smiled and opened the door for Chu Xing, "Let’s go."
"Thank you, uncle."

Han Cheng dropped Chu Xing to the Han residence before he proceeded towards the Han Corporation. Initially, he had planned to stay at home with his wife and Chu Xing, however, his secretary had called him and told him that something important is waiting for him at the office.
Han Cheng walked into his office, the familiar scent of leather and polished wood surrounding him. As he settled behind his desk, his secretary approached with a formal yet slightly hesitant demeanor. In her hands, she held an invitation card for the upcoming auction.
"Mr. Han, here’s the invitation for the auction. It’s happening soon in the capital city of C Nation."
Han Cheng looked at the card, a furrow forming on his brow. He distinctly remembered declining any interest in the auction just a while ago, making the unexpected appearance of the invitation perplexing.
"I thought I made it clear that I’m not interested in attending the auction. Why is this here again?"
The secretary, maintaining her professional composure, explained, "I understand, Mr. Han. But there was a recent update. A 1000-year-old ginseng is going to be auctioned, and it might help Madam’s health, that is why I am informing you."
Han Cheng’s confusion deepened, but the mention of the ancient ginseng caught his attention. He took a moment to absorb the information before nodding in acknowledgment.
"I suppose I should reconsider my decision."
The secretary, sensing his change of heart, nodded in understanding before leaving the room.
After the secretary left, Han Cheng found himself caught in a dilemma. On one hand, he wished to be present at the auction, knowing the potential benefits the ancient ginseng could bring to Fang Zichen’s well-being. On the other hand, leaving Fang Zichen alone in M Nation wasn’t an option. Yet, the idea of bringing her along to C Nation, the site of the auction, sparked a different set of worries.
Han Cheng harbored concerns about the possibility of encountering Nie Qinyu in C Nation. The history between them added a layer of discomfort and tension, making the decision to bring Fang Zichen a risky proposition.
Han Cheng did not want his beloved wife to face the man who was responsible for her lifelong unhappiness.
Finally, Han Cheng decided to find out about Nie Qinyu’s whereabouts. If Nie Qinyu was in the capital city of C Nation, Han Cheng would not go to the auction and just tell his trustworthy person to try his best to get the ginseng.
However, if Nie Qinyu was not in the capital city these days, Han Cheng would take Fang Zichen with him and bid for the ginseng personally.
