Chapter 465: I want to break up

Chapter 465: I want to break up

There were two women in the photo, probably in their early twenties, dressed flamboyantly, and they were both nestled in Xi Yaohua’s lap, kissing him passionately on the face.

Xi Yaohua had a wide smile; having several girls with him obviously put him in a very good mood.

This scene froze Qin Muran’s blood. She had thought that what happened before was just a fluke, and as long as she put in more effort, Xi Yaohua would not be with those women anymore.

However, this scene shattered her feeling of luck. Xi Yaohua had never lacked girls at his side!

Qin Muran’s finger trembled as she swiped on the photo, and there were a few male faces in the corner of the next one. She recognized another person, who was Xi Bingyu. This made her heart go cold. Xi Bingyu was there too?

Thinking about Xi Yaohua’s words just now, she immediately understood. Xi Yaohua was indeed with Xi Bingyu, but there were women with them! These women were quite sleazy. However, Xi Yaohua seemed so close to them...

Xi Bingyu took his son to go whoring! Qin Muran gritted and almost gnashed her teeth. They had really gone too far! It was too much!

If Xi Yaohua was in front of her, she would have slapped him in the face! But she couldn’t do that! If she did that, Xi Yaohua might break up with her. Once they broke up, if something happened in the future, there would be no way back.

At this moment, she hated it so much that her breath seemed to stop. She couldn’t understand why Xi Yaohua would go so far! Didn’t he say he loved her the most? If he really loved her, why would he get involved with all these girls?

Qin Muran’s tears came out, and she couldn’t help but call Lu Yaran. Before she could say anything, she started crying.

Lu Yaran immediately got anxious, "What’s wrong? Who bullied you?"

Qin Muran sobbed and described the situation with Xi Yaohua, "Why does he always like to find other women?"

Lu Yaran was silent for a moment before saying with great difficulty, "Men, well... They are all like that..."

"I don’t want a boyfriend like this!" Qin Muran cried. "I want to break up!"

"No!" Lu Yaran immediately refused. "You can’t break up!"

"I want to break up!" Qin Muran cried even louder. "Why should he treat me like this? It’s not like nobody else wants me!"

Lu Yaran was anxious, "Don’t be reckless! Think about it. It’s been so many years already; can’t you stand it some more?"

Qin Muran cried pitifully, "I can’t stand it anymore! Why do I have to put up with it!"

She was the pampered young lady of the Qin family. There were many people who liked her, so why must she put up with Xi Yaohua?

Lu Yaran made Qin Muran understand the circumstances and asked her to put up with Xi Yaohua if she wished to progress further in her career and if she wished for a wealthy and comfortable life.

Qin Muran cried more but she understood eventually.

Lu Yaran then hung up the call and sighed. As the leaves rustled in the crisp breeze outside the elegant windows of their luxurious mansion, Lu Yaran sat in the dimly lit, ornate living room, her heart heavy with concern and longing. The room was adorned with priceless antiques and paintings, a testament to the family’s wealth and influence. Yet, today, all the opulence around her seemed meaningless.

She stared at the antique clock on the mantelpiece, its rhythmic ticking accentuating the silence that hung heavy in the air.

She didn’t know what went wrong with both of her kids. Qin Muran was not happy and neither was Qin Mufeng in a good state. He had recognized them after a few months of the accident and now he had recovered from his physical injuries as well.

It had been months since the accident that had changed their lives forever. Qin Mufeng had been the apple of her eye, a brilliant and promising young man. But now, he was different. He had returned to college after a lengthy period of recuperation, yet something had changed in him. The spark that once lit up his eyes seemed to have dimmed, replaced by a profound disappointment.

Qin Mufeng’s disappointment with his family had led him to stop calling home altogether. The once-frequent phone calls that brightened her day had dwindled to silence. Worse still, Qin Mufeng had abandoned his role in the family company, leaving his father to handle the business alone.

Lu Yaran’s fingers traced the intricate patterns of the antique vase on the coffee table, her thoughts drifting back to the times when their family had been close-knit and full of laughter. She couldn’t help but feel a sense of helplessness and sorrow.

Unbeknownst to Lu Yaran, Qin Mufeng had started his own technology company with his college roommates during his second year. But his responsibilities in his family’s business had forced him to put it on hold.

Now that he had distanced himself from his family and he had no interest in taking over the family business, he was determined not to let his own company fail.

The months where he was recuperating at home, he worked late into the night on his company’s plans, seeking investors and striving to make it successful, all while keeping it a secret from his family.

He didn’t want his family to become obstacle in his plans. Moreover, he knew that if Qin Yicheng or Lu Yaran knew about his company, they would either merge it with the Qin Corporation or they would force the company to shut down.

Since Qin Mufeng did not like the ways of his parents, he did not want to be entirely dependent on them. He wanted to have a stand in the family and he would only succeed if he was independent at this time.

In this struggle between family expectations and his personal ambition, Qin Mufeng had chosen to focus on his own path to success. It had been almost an year since his accident and since when he had started to ensure the prosperity of his own company.

Qin Mufeng was young and ambitious. He was good at his studies and had strong abilities. In this year, his small company had now grown into a company with assets of over a million. The company that he started had great potential. It was bound to develop into a large company in time.

While Qin Mufeng was away at college, his relationships with most of his family members remained strained. However, there was an exception – his occasional contact with his sister, Qin Yan.

After Qin Mufeng woke up from his accident, something changed between the siblings. They had forgiven each other, and there was a newfound sense of understanding and closeness between them.

Although they could not interact regularly, they hung out with each other occasionally.

The late afternoon sun bathed the university campus in a warm, golden glow, casting long shadows that stretched across the walkways. Qin Mufeng, at this moment, stood near the entrance of the college building, his anticipation palpable as he awaited the arrival of Qin Yan. He had come to meet Qin Yan today for a special purpose.

The college building’s doors swung open, releasing a tide of students into the courtyard. Qin Mufeng’s eyes darted eagerly through the crowd, scanning for Qin Yan’s familiar face. And there she was, her figure gradually materializing from the throng of students. Her long, dark hair cascaded down her back as she walked gracefully, carrying herself with the poise of a dedicated medical student.

Qin Mufeng’s heart swelled with joy as he took in the sight of his sister. A warm smile broke across his face as he called out to her, his voice filled with brotherly affection, "Yan Yan!"

Qin Yan met her brother’s gaze with her usual calm demeanor. She acknowledged him with a nod and a soft, "Brother!"

"Yan Yan, how was your day?" Qin Mufeng asked with genuine happiness in his voice.

Qin Yan replied with a smile, "It was good, Brother. How about yours?"

"It was alright," Qin Mufeng replied.

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Qin Mufeng hesitated for a moment before broaching the subject that had been on his mind.

"Yan Yan," he began, his voice tinged with a hint of vulnerability, "I’ve been thinking... Do you think I can start playing basketball again?"

The question hung in the air, heavy with significance. Basketball had been a passion that had defined much of Qin Mufeng’s life, until a fateful accident had forced him to put it on hold. For the past year, he had endured a strict regimen of recovery, forbidden from engaging in any strenuous physical activities.

Now, he sought the counsel of his younger sister, who had treated him and was his primary doctor from the beginning.
