Transmigrated As A Feisty Omega -
Chapter 133: A bet
Chapter 133: A bet
He smirked, "I love it."
The expression on his face pissed me off, but I didn’t let it show. I’m on a mission to help my friend, and I’m not ready to leave until I complete it.
I stared hard at Theo, whose gaze was racking through my body. He started from my head and slowly down to my toes.
"So, what are you doing here?" He asked in a bored tone, sounding like he didn’t have all the time in the entire world to speak with me.
"I wish to make friends with you," I brought my hand out for a shake, "let’s introduce ourselves once more. I’m —"
"Did he put you up to this?"
"Who? Storm?" I scoffed, "why will you think that way?"
Should Storm ever get to know that I came out here to look for his brother, he will wreak havoc on the entire palace, looking for me. That damned jealous man will never willingly allow me to meet any of his brothers. He will undoubtedly see it as cheating.
"Then, what are you doing here?" With a smirk on his face, he closed the distance between us and leaned down to whisper, "are you interested in me?"
"As if," I stood my ground with my arms folded, knowing I could take him on should he try something funny with me. I’m not trying to act smug or anything like that, but there’s this liberating feeling when you know that you can easily get yourself out of any trouble.
"Oh, the sheep willingly came into the wolf’s den. Aren’t you scared of getting eaten by the wolf?" He asked in an amused tone, looking so much like the wolf in Little Red Riding Hood.
"Not if the sheep happens to be a wolf in disguise. There are wolves in sheep’s clothing. You know that, right?"
My words caused him to chuckle —darkly. Since I met him, I have never seen him genuinely smile. Just like the Storm of this world, he looks like he has a secret weighing him down.
"You amuse me, Omega. I wonder where the hell Storm got you from," he raised his hand to touch my hair but froze when I levelled a stern glare at him. He brought his hand down, looking amused. "He better watch out because I’m out to steal," he turned his back to me and made to leave.
"Hey! I’m not through with you. I came here to extend an olive branch. Isn’t —"
"Let’s make a bet, then?" He turned to me with a mischievous smile on his face, looking like he was enjoying this far more than he let on.
"And what are the terms of the bet?"
Always a lover of competition, I placed both hands on my waist and gave him my undivided attention.
"If you win, we can be friends, but if you lose...." His eyes trailed my body, from my head to toes before his tongue snaked out, and licked his bottom lips.
Yuck.
I hope he’s not thinking what I think he is.
"If you fail, you will become my pet," he smirked, giving me a once-over. "I will take you as mine if you fail. What do you think?!"
"What is the bet about?"
I’m not ready to agree to a bet I don’t even know what it entails. What if it’s a bet about who fucks the hardest?!
Just kidding!
"Well, let’s see," he gently touched his beard. "Storm is going on a quest in 13 days. Let’s bet on his success."
"What?!"
I gaped at him, staring at him with a dumbstruck expression on my face. To say I was shocked will be a damned understatement.
"Oh, don’t you know about the quest he’s going on?" He asked in a smug tone, "well, let me tell you. As the chosen ’crown prince’ he’s expected to go on a quest to prove his eligibility for the throne."
"What?!"
This is the first time I have heard about the so-called quest. Neither Storm nor Ray has ever told me of it. They are still keeping me in the dark about things concerning the princes in this damned place.
"You see? He doesn’t hold you in high esteem. If he did, he would have told you about the quest. But fret not, now that you know, and have met me, I will keep you up to date," he winked at me but didn’t make a move to touch me.
"That’s not true! He will tell me about it!"
But even as I said those words, I knew that’s not the truth. Storm won’t tell me about it. He might think that doing that will give me enough chance to get to choose the man I will be with until his return.
It’s funny how he thinks I will willingly be with another, despite how much I have tried to prove my love to him.
"Oh, is that true?" He raised his brow and pursed his lips, "if you think that way, who am I to refute those words?" He turned his back to me, "have a nice day, pretty. The bet starts now. We —"
"I have not agreed to it!" I yelled at him.
"Don’t worry, I will treat you well if you become my Omega, better than he has ever treated you," he winked at me. And for a moment, I swore he genuinely smiled at me.
"I know an Omega, who will love to be yours," I suddenly said, recalling my reason for seeking him out.
"Oh, you do?" He turned to face me, "pray to tell, who is that Omega?" He looked amused as he asked the question.
"Ray. He —"
He broke out into a throaty laugh, "God, I never thought I would hear such an expensive joke. He might be an Omega, but I don’t swing that way. I don’t do men, especially those working for Storm or any that has anything to do with him."
"What of me, then? Am I not a man?"
"You?" He gave me a once more before a smile graced his face, "you are the only exception."
With a smile on his face and a swagger in his steps, he turned and returned the way he came, leaving me to stand at the spot as I watched him leave.
It wasn’t until he entered the last door in his hall that I turned to leave, deciding to seek Ray out, intending to have his ear cut for not telling me about the damned quest.
I know I have never asked him much about Storm, but at least he should have known that the quest is something worth mentioning. But no, he didn’t do that.
Halfway down the hall, noises caught my attention. It sounded like the chants of warriors. Though not pleasant to the ear, it spurred my curiosity.
Without a moment of hesitation, I ran towards the place I heard the sound from, eager to know what it was. In a moment like this, my gossiping streak shows up for the game.
I ran down the hall until I got to the place the noises were coming from. It was outside the palace — I had to run out through the back door to be able to get there.
More than twenty guards stood by the door with their backs to it as they made sounds that sounded akin to the one someone makes whenever they are spurring others to fight.
I got eager to see what was happening on the other side. When jumping proved futile, I resorted to using my strength to push them off.
Luckily, I was able to push three guards out of my way, and with a push from one of them, I found myself at the forefront, stunned as my eyes locked with that of a man, whom I thought I would never see.
His blue eyes, which were icy back in Dark Moon kingdom, looked so dull and filled with fright. This was one of the expressions I never thought Mr Kim would have. Even when he was about to die, he didn’t look frightened. But here he is, cowering like a scared lad. His blonde hair was dirty, with leaves sticking out of them. There were splotches of mud on them, shocking me as I wondered how a neat freak got to be this dirty.
His wrapper was torn at every side, and had it not been for his loincloth, his nakedness would have been exposed.
Another guard towered over him with a whip which he kept on hitting him with countlessly. Oddly enough, the marks it made on his body with each strike didn’t completely heal.
It kept on turning black as it formed scars on his body, making it difficult for anyone to differentiate between the scars and the tattoos.
I watched him as they whipped him, with his blood pooling around him. I know I should have felt satisfied by what I was seeing since the man in front of me was the one that subjected many Omegas to intense pain.
But I couldn’t help it.
"Stop!" I yelled before I knew it.
