Chapter 102: A fight to the death

My hands clenched on their accord, not because of anything, but anger at seeing my best friend cosy with someone else.

He laughed, looking beautiful at that moment, and Ray, who hardly smiles, cracked up at whatever it told him.

"That bitch!"

He’s obviously using something on Ray! There is no way Ray can be this friendly with someone he met, a slut nonetheless!

I gritted my teeth, pissed at the sight in front of me. It felt like the scene alone twisted my guts. I couldn’t even bear looking at them because it felt like my insides were getting gnarled.

"My prince," Phil’s voice interrupted my thoughts.

I turned towards him with my eyes narrowed to slits.

He bowed, "The ring has been set. The carriage for the journey has been prepared. We are ready to go when you are." He knelt on the ground and placed his right palm on his right knee and his left hand on the ground.

"Good!"

I stormed out of the room and headed towards the ring. The scene I saw earlier kept on replaying in my mind, leaving me angrier than I was this morning.

I felt the need to strangle someone, and I know just how to solve this. A smile tugged at the side of my lips the moment I stepped into the ring.

Boos came from the men sitting around the caged ring. It has been long since I last fought in the circle, which explains their eagerness to watch me fight.

I cracked my knuckles and smirked at the expression on the faces of the men in the ring. The three of them stared at me with pale faces. Though they are muscular and, the best here, they are no match for me, especially when I change to my wolf — not that I intend to do that.

I gave the men a once-over. My eyes went to their glistening chests and straight to their groins, imagining all the things I could do to them.

I motioned for the men to approach, tuning out the boos from the men around the ring. For now, I just have one need, and that’s to fight these men to the death, to curb my anger.

With a cry, the first man charged towards me, with his weapon extended, only to throw it down when he changed into his wolf mid-run.

His black wolf barred its teeth at me before he went in for the kill.

Tsk.

It’s always fun showing these men who have the upper hand here. I watched him approach, and at the last minute when he jumped with his claws extended, to hurt me, I only dodged, and he fell to the side. He rose with a snarl, going for the kill once more, but I kicked him in the stomach, sending him to the far corner of the ring.

The other men ran towards me the moment I turned my back to them. Unlike me, they have no desire to kill me. They only intend to fatally wound me while I’m going for the kill, eager to bathe in their blood.

My claws elongated in a partial shift, and with a growl, I closed the distance between the first man and me, extended my claws and plunged it into his chest, ripping his heart out.

The crowd quieted, and the man who was behind the now-dead one froze. His eyes went to the lifeless body of the man before it went to my right hand that’s still holding the beating heart, and straight to my face.

All the blood drained from his face at the sight. He took a step back, and then another, before he turned to run. But I was having none of that. I came here to fight, and that I will do.

I ran towards him, faster than the average wolf, and in front of him within seconds. He was too stunned that he fell on his butt, looking at me like one who had seen a ghost.

You would have thought that the people here all know about me, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. He wouldn’t have been this scared if he really knew who I am.

"Rise. We are here to fight for the death. You didn’t strike me as a coward who will bolt at the sight of blood." I threw the heart on the ground and motioned for him to rise from the floor.

His eyes went to the discarded heart before it returned to me. His eyes changed into pure golden to show that his wolf is at the surface.

Good.

This is what I want, the thrill of the fight.

My eyes went to the other wolf, knocked out and unaware of what was going on around him. Well, it won’t be for long, I will face him off —

A scream came from the crowd when the man sitting on the ground punched me. My face turned to the side, and it felt like my bones snapped.

I licked my bottom lip and was ready for him. I blocked his punches and kicks, toying with him, dragging the fight out and testing his patience, so I can feel the thrill of the fight.

***

My eyes took in the bodies on the ground. After the fight with the three initial warriors, with only one of them throwing three punches at me, four ’brave’ men tried to fight for their fallen comrade and I helped send them to the netherworld, so they can stay with those they love, seeing how much they desire to help them.

"My prince, it’s time to leave. The sun is almost setting," Phil bowed when he met me in my room after the fight.

I had just cleaned up and gotten ready for the two-day journey to my home. Well, it’s a day’s journey if I wish to make it so. But I don’t have any wish to return home at all. I just need to drag it out, so I will only spend a day with those stupid brothers of mine.

"And my... the slut?"

"He’s out there with Ray."
