Chapter 148: Atmos Clan [6]

Chapter 148: Atmos Clan [6]

Gio stood up and followed his father out of the study. As they spoke more about the clan, Gio’s history, and Arcadia as a whole, they arrived in a long corridor on the third floor of the mansion.

"All of our rooms are here. Your brother and sister are still young enough to be afraid of the dark, so they are sharing the room over there. You can take any of the other ones."

Gio nodded, glancing over at the room he used in his past life as Kyrian went over and knocked on a door parallel to it.

"Adin! Isadora! Are you there?"

"Coming!"

A small voice came from beyond the wood alongside the sound of shuffling footsteps. A few moments later, the door slowly opened, revealing the one who pulled the handle.

"Isa! When did you get tall enough to open the door by yourself?" Kyrian exclaimed with a smile, lifting his daughter into the air.

"Hehehe!" She giggled happily.

"I’ve been this tall, Daddy! You’re always forgetting!"

"What? I never forget anything!"

Kyrian laughed as she messed with his beard.

"Were you and your brother playing?"

"No! Brother is being mean and playing magic by himself. He won’t listen to me."

"Well, you know how your brother is. Just wait a little and ask him nicely. How could he ever say no to you!"

"Right!"

The little girl named Isadora nodded happily before her eyes suddenly met with those of the boy standing behind her father.

They didn’t look very similar.

Isadora had pale white skin and Kyrian’s aquamarine eyes. Her hair was brown, likely a color she received from her mother. She looked at Gio with big curious eyes that contrasted his own, which were always cold and narrowed.

"Daddy, who is that?"

She was only four years old at this time. Her talent hadn’t blossomed and she barely knew what Original Genes were. The childlike innocence she had now...

Gio didn’t want it to disappear too early like it did back then.

"It’s nice to meet you, Isadora," he said with a warm smile.

"My name is Gio. Have you ever heard of me?"

"Gioo~?" She repeated, drawing out the end of his name curiously.

"Daddy told me about Gio...you’re being abopted!"

"No, no, no. When did Daddy say that?" Kyrian hastily interrupted.

"I said Gio is going to be your new big brother, remember?"

"Yeah! Because you abopted him!"

"No, he’s not being adopt...haa, never mind. That’s right. I’m adopting him, so treat him as your big brother from now on, okay?"

"Okay! How old are you?"

"I’ll be fifteen in a few months," Gio replied.

Her eyes went even wider, something he thought was impossible.

"Fiftheen...? How many is that...?"

She held up her fingers and tried to count it. When she used up all her fingers and was forced to start again, her eyes widened.

"Woah!"

She looked at him with a gaze that almost sparkled.

"Brother is only this many. That means you’re an old man!"

She held up nine fingers for Adin’s age as she marveled at the fact that Gio could be six fingers older.

Kyrian set her down with a smile. She hid behind his leg, but he gently pushed her forth.

"Isa, why don’t you introduce Gio to Adin? Daddy has some work to do."

"Hmmmm..."

She hummed in thought before looking at him and nodding.

"Okay, but Brother might be mad because he’s doing his magic!"

She walked up and grabbed Gio’s hand, leading him into the room. Kyrian winked at him from behind, telling him to handle the rest on his own.

Obviously, he planned to stay nearby in case anything happened, but he didn’t want to make the atmosphere awkward by bringing the presence of an adult into the room.

Isadora pulled Gio over to meet a boy much smaller than himself. Rather than physical work, it was obvious that the boy much rather preferred to bury himself in books.

In fact, even when they approached, his nose was deep in the pages of a massive research paper about Sequences.

"Brother! I brought Other Brother!"

"Am I "Other Brother" now?" Gio asked with a smile.

"Yeah, because Brother is already Brother."

Gio shook his head wryly.

"You can just call me Gio. It’s the same for you," he said, turning his gaze to the boy who was now looking at him.

"I’ll be joining your family from now on, but don’t feel pressured into anything you don’t want."

Unlike Isadora, who was too young to care about anything, Adin had a lot of questions and concerns. He was a smart kid, much smarter than most his age.

He didn’t know what Gio’s presence meant for the house, but he knew he didn’t like it.

Their father never spoke about his first wife. If it weren’t for their mother, they never would have even known about her.

For her child to be in this house now...

Adin didn’t say anything in response to Gio’s greeting. He only nodded his head a little and turned his eyes back to his book.

"Don’t be mad at Brother," Isadora said, tugging on Gio’s sleeve.

"He doesn’t like talking, but when he does, he’s super nice!"

Gio smiled and patted her head.

"Alright. I believe you, Isadora. But since your brother doesn’t want to talk right now, shouldn’t we leave him alone?"

Isadora tapped her chin cutely before nodding her head with a serious expression.

"Right! I’m going to take a nap!"

She ran over to the half of the room that was painted bright blue, contrasting the much darker tone of Adin’s side. She jumped in bed without a care in the world and waved goodbye to Gio before entering her own world.

Gio raised a brow and looked back over at Adin.

’Well, we’ll bond as soon as he realizes I’m a Sequencer. I thought there’d be more of an interaction this time, but if it’s over here, then that’s that.’

In some ways, it was more convenient.

Gio waved goodbye back to Isadora and left the room. Kyrian was still waiting for him in the hallway with words of consolation prepared.

"Don’t worry. Isadora wasn’t lying. That kid is just the quiet type. When he starts to open up, his personality changes completely."

Gio told him he didn’t mind it and the two walked together, conversing for a bit longer. By the time they found themselves in front of Kyrian’s office once more, there wasn’t much conversation left to have.

"Then, Gio, I’ll leave you to explore on your own and get comfortable. As I said, just come to me if you need anything. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, because I’m always willing to provide it."

With those words, he entered his office and left Gio behind.

And Gio almost immediately beelined towards the mansion’s back exit.

’Nobody knew about it until the entire clan was destroyed. I found it in the ruins of the estate while I was looking for survivors.’

In other words, the Essence Blood he had his eyes on was just sitting around waiting for him to go claim it.

Naturally, he was already on his way to do exactly that.
