Chapter 64: Chapter 60: A Villain Will Meet His Match (Three Updates of Ten Thousand Words, Asking for Monthly Passes! Asking for Subscriptions!)
When Fujihara Yellow Hair was taken from the interrogation room to the detention room, he was still somewhat dazed.
"Are the police giving up on interrogating me just like that?"
"Were all those little interrogation resistance tricks I thought of in vain? I hadn’t even used them all yet!"
Upon arriving at the detention room, he saw the four guys who had just captured him, either squatting or standing inside, giving him unfriendly stares through the iron bars.
"I want to change rooms! I don’t want to be locked up with them!" Fujihara Yellow Hair immediately shouted loudly.
Two officers directly pushed him in and then locked the door. "Do you think this is a hotel?"
Afterward, they walked away without looking back.
"Kid, didn’t expect to see us again, did you?"
Noda smiled a skin-deep smile as he looked at Fujihara.
"You... don’t mess around, we all have no grudges..." Although Fujihara was already panicked inside, he tried to appear calm on the surface.
"No grudges?" Noda suddenly raised his voice and shouted, then rushed forward and grabbed Fujihara by the collar, "We have a deep blood feud between us!"
Cutting off someone’s means of livelihood is like killing their parents.
"Big brother, you must be mistaken, I don’t even know you guys!" Fujihara felt very wronged.
"You don’t need to know us, the fact that we know you is enough!" Noda delivered a fierce punch to Fujihara’s stomach, "Tell me, where is the money hidden!"
"Ah! They’re beating someone! They’re beating someone!" Fujihara screamed in pain, twisting his features and shouting toward the hallway outside.
"What are you yelling about!" The guard officer came over and knocked on the iron bars, glaring at Fujihara Yellow Hair and said, "Why don’t you reflect on why they are only beating you and not others? Does it not indicate there’s a problem with you? Keep it down!"
With that, the officer walked away.
"Damn!" Fujihara cursed in despair.
Noda let go of his collar, grabbed his hair, and dragged him to the ground, then crushed his fingers under the sole of his shoe, "Tell me quick! Where is the money hidden!"
"I don’t know... Ah!" Fujihara had just spoken when he let out a wretched scream.
Under Noda’s relentless grinding with his leather shoes, Fujihara’s skin was torn, his flesh fuzzy, and his finger joints visibly deformed, as if the bones had been crushed.
The pain of one’s fingers being connected to the heart can only be imagined.
"Is this really okay?" Asai Ayumi frowned as she watched the scene from the surveillance room, turning her head to speak to Aoyama Xiu Xin, "If the media finds out..."
"The media will report that suspects fought in the detention room, not that we injured him with violent interrogation," Aoyama Xiu Xin replied breezily.
It’s quite interesting to watch non-Japanese torture others.
We could often use this strategy in the future, to have a little fun and avoid complaints of violent interrogation.
Noda continued his assault on Fujihara Yellow Hair.
"Tell me! Where is the money hidden! If you don’t tell me, it will be the next finger’s turn!"
"You better make sure you can endure until all ten fingers are crushed, or else if you can’t take it by the tenth finger, all the suffering before would have been for nothing. Are you confident in yourself?"
Fujihara Yellow Hair’s face turned deathly pale, sweat rolling down his forehead like beans, he was in a dilemma, not sure if he could really take it.
"Ahhh!"
Before he could decide, Noda brutally attacked again, this time stepping directly on Fujihara’s little toe, staining the heel of his shoe with blood.
Fujihara rolled on the ground in agony, unable to hold on any longer and cried out, "I’ll talk! I’ll talk! Just tell me to talk!"
This level of torture was such that even a spy who had been professionally trained might not withstand it.
A gambling addict could not be expected to have strong willpower, or he would have quit gambling long ago.
"There’s an old Chinese saying, ’A wise man submits to circumstances.’ It would have been so much easier if you had just done this earlier, why endure all this suffering?" Noda sneered, squatting down to lift up Yellow Hair, "Don’t play dead, talk now."
"It’s... in Muehe District... in the basement of the backyard of the residence at number 23." Fujihara Yellow Hair stuttered out the hiding place for the money and pleaded, "Stop torturing me, I’m telling the truth."
"Alright, alright, still unwilling to speak, huh!" Noda shouted angrily, slapped him down, and then kicked him in the stomach twice, "Talk! Tell me!"
"Ah!" Fujihara curled on the ground, writhing in pain, feeling both suffocated and aggrieved, screaming with tears streaming down his face, "I’ve spoken, I have!"
Can’t you understand Japanese?
"Alright, alright, you sure are tough-mouthed, kid. I want to see if your mouth is tougher or our fists are tougher," Noda said with a cold laugh, commanding his three lackeys, "Let’s loosen up his muscles and bones together."
The surveillance in the police station could only broadcast images and hadn’t yet been updated to record sound.
So watching the scene from the surveillance room, Asai Ayumi couldn’t help but comment, "He’s quite resilient, isn’t he?"
Aoyama Xiu Xin nodded in agreement.
Didn’t expect it, this Yellow Hair, although a gambling addict,
Had quite a tough bone.
Anyway, he thought he definitely wouldn’t be able to endure it.
At that moment, Yellow Hair felt like his bones were about to be shattered. He curled up in a ball silently enduring the beating, racking his brain but unable to figure out how he had offended them.
In the end, he could only conclude that he had wronged too many people in the past and vowed to be a better person from now on.
"Stop! That’s enough!" Noda, knowing his limits and that he couldn’t beat the guy to death or cripple him, timely halted his brothers and squatted down pretending to listen closely to what Yellow Hair was saying. Then he stood up and made an OK gesture to the surveillance camera, signaling that everything was taken care of.
Moments later, he was brought before Aoyama Xiu Xin and Asai Ayumi. His first words were, "That kid’s lips are sealed tight—he’s got me worn out from all the beating."
"Cut the crap and tell us where the money is hidden," Aoyama Xiu Xin urged impatiently.
"Hey! Hey! Hey!" Noda immediately put on a flattering smile, nodding and bowing as he respectfully said, "It’s in a cellar in the backyard of a residence on 23 Muehe District, Block 3... He was nearly beaten to death before he spilled it, so it should be true, no lies."
Ah, if only they hadn’t run into Aoyama Xiu Xin tonight, that money would have been theirs.
Truly a regrettable encounter.
"I’ll send someone to check it out right away," Asai Ayumi stated, and then stepped aside to make arrangements.
Noda, being cautious, asked Aoyama Xiu Xin, "So, can we go now?"
"Go?" Aoyama Xiu Xin sneered, giving him a sidelong glance. "Fighting in the station, nearly killing a fellow suspect... We’ll detain you for a month first. Otherwise, if he decides to cause trouble and sue, wouldn’t we, the police, be cleaning up your mess? Do you think that’s even possible?"
"This..." Noda was both shocked and furious.
Damn it! What happened to the honor among thieves?
Just like that, the promise they made was being ignored.
Aoyama Xiu Xin glared and said with a fake smile, "What’s the matter, you don’t accept it?"
"I accept, I accept," Noda’s momentum deflated in an instant, with nothing to do but grind his teeth and swallow his pride.
After all, when you’re under someone else’s roof, you have to bow your head.
Aoyama Xiu Xin casually waved his hand,
signaling them to take him away and proceed with the detention formalities.
Half an hour later, Asai Ayumi came to inform Aoyama Xiu Xin that they had confirmed the truth of what Fujihara Yellow Hair had said.
The two of them immediately went to report to Asai Youki.
"Excellent! Well done!" Asai Youki, thrilled beyond expectation, patted Aoyama Xiu Xin on the shoulder, and then added, "Let’s keep it simple and have your firearms division set up the ambush at the money hideout. I’ll immediately release the news of Fujihara’s arrest to the public. Once his accomplices hear about it, they’ll surely rush to grab the money and flee."
"Yes, sir!" Aoyama Xiu Xin and Asai Ayumi responded.
Asai Youki then added, "Police Chief Asai doesn’t need to go along. The capture can be led by Deputy Chief Aoyama. I have another task for you."
"Senior Police Director..." Asai Ayumi looked uncomfortable, especially in front of Aoyama Xiu Xin.
Asai Youki interrupted her, "That’s the decision. If there’s nothing else, you’re dismissed to prepare."
"Yes, sir!" Aoyama Xiu Xin turned and left.
Asai Ayumi, hesitating to speak in front of her father, ended up leaving with Aoyama Xiu Xin. Just as they stepped out of the office, she said, "I’m sorry, I..."
"Concern for a daughter’s safety from her own father is only natural," Aoyama Xiu Xin spoke jealously. Having a father who’s at the top means not having to face the front lines personally, but still getting full credit when the case is closed.
Listening to this, Asai Ayumi felt even more remorseful and apologetic. She bowed deeply, "About what you said earlier tonight, I’ll help you as soon as I can."
Aoyama Xiu Xin nodded and left without further word.
Asai Ayumi watched his retreating figure, her lips pressed into a tight line.
.........
That very night, Aoyama Xiu Xin led all the members of the firearms division to ambush the residence where the money was hidden.
Meanwhile, Asai Youki called a press conference to announce the arrest of a suspect in the Beitu Bank robbery case and appealed to the remaining three robbers, hoping they would turn themselves in voluntarily.
The next morning, the news broadcast carried the story.
The public had been severely critical of the police force’s capabilities after the robbery, but arresting one of the robbers so quickly helped the police recover some of their dignity.
Seeing the news, Scar Face, the elder brother of Fujihara Yellow Hair, suspected that the police were laying a trap. He contacted his other three accomplices one by one, and only after failing to reach Fujihara Yellow Hair did he confirm that something had indeed gone wrong.
He immediately gathered the remaining two to discuss the situation.
"Fujihara might be in trouble," Scar Face said to the two men the moment they met.
"What? He wouldn’t have sold us out, would he?"
"Boss! What do we do now?"
"From what I know of Fujihara, he could withstand initial interrogation, but it might not hold later on," Scar Face said gravely, then added, "We’ve got to leave, and leave now."
"What about the money?" the Bald Man asked.
Scar Face pondered for a moment, "The police cordon’s still tight now, it’s not realistic to take all the money with us. Just grab a portion and escape. After all, it’s here; we can always come back for it after things cool off."
"Okay!" Though the other two were uneasy about leaving so much money behind in the cellar, they had no other choice.
Once they agreed, the three of them wasted no time and set off by car towards the money hideout.
"Stop the car!"
When they were almost there, Scar Face suddenly shouted.
The middle-aged driver, on reflex, pressed down on the brake and called out in confusion, "Boss?"
"I think Fujihara could survive the initial police interrogation, but we can’t pin all our hopes on this," Scar Face said, his expression flickering. After a moment of contemplation, he said, "Just in case, let’s have someone else check for police ambushes for us."
