Chapter 465: Chapter 408: Hokkaido Police Enforcement Style, New Developments (Requesting Monthly Tickets)

Miyazaki Yu ultimately couldn’t deal with all the police that night, as the higher-ups at the headquarters were pulling an all-nighter, and his trip home was fruitless, forcing him to return and prepare to come back the next night.

After all, it would not be possible to go to the headquarters to find them.

In that area, almost all experienced drug users had been in the local station and left records, and the police had locked down the identities of all the shooters involved that night by checking the surveillance footage from the scene.

Then they divided into groups to carry out the arrests.

In a cheap bar, under dim lights and a surging crowd, men and women twisted their bodies ecstatically to the beat of lively music, occasionally rubbing against each other to revel in the ambiguity.

As everyone was immersed in pleasure, the bar’s main door was pushed open from the outside, and a group of men and women, some dressed in suits, others in trench coats or down jackets, entered in a solemn procession.

Leading the pack was a young man in his mid to late twenties, in an athletic build with a buzz cut, dressed in a silver-gray suit and a red tie.

He wore a badge on his chest bearing his name and position, Mikuriya Shouta, Police Chief, Criminal Department, Sapporo Branch, Hokkaido Police Headquarters.

Sapporo Branch, also known as the Organized Crime Countermeasure Branch, mainly dealt with the Black Society and smuggling, among other things.

Mikuriya Shouta, with his hands tucked in his pockets, strode forward expressionlessly, while his subordinates roughly shoved people to the side to clear a path for him.

"Move aside! Police business, don’t block the way!"

"Idiot! Get the hell out of our way!"

Most of the people who came to the bar were not exactly law-abiding citizens, naturally becoming incensed by such impolite treatment. But upon seeing the badges on the intruders’ chests, they reluctantly held their tongues.

Under Fujimoto Takayoshi’s governance, Hokkaido had gained much praise for its public safety, although the local police reputation was not good due to their domineering and violent approach, compounded by the lack of a place to issue complaints.

"Police Chief, he’s over there."

One of the subordinates looked around and finally pointed to a young man near the bar with silver-dyed hair.

Hearing the commotion behind him, the silver-haired youth turned his head for a glance, then instantly tried to bolt.

One of Mikuriya Shouta’s subordinates grabbed a chair and threw it, striking the silver-haired youth just as he had managed to run a few steps, toppling him to the ground with a cry of pain.

The surrounding patrons stopped dancing and backed away, leaving a clear space for the confrontation while they cheered on the spectacle.

Before the silver-haired youth could get up, two policemen rushed up and kicked him fiercely a few times before dragging him in front of Mikuriya Shouta.

Mikuriya Shouta sat at an angle in front of the bar, one hand resting on the counter, slowly lighting a cigarette. He casually said, "You know about the shooting tonight. We found that your brother was one of the lead gunmen. Where is he?"

Although the shooters had immediately gone into hiding after the escape, unlike Tokyo with its multitude of outsiders, Sapporo was predominantly locals, and their myriad relationships in Hokkaido made it impossible to hide from the police watch.

"Mi...Police Chief Mikuriya, I’ve been drinking here all night, the bartender can prove it. I really don’t know what my brother did," protested the silver-haired youth, looking innocently indignant as he stood unsteadily.

"Ha—" Mikuriya Shouta blew smoke in his face and said indifferently, "Guess whether I believe you? So many people are watching, don’t force me to beat you, let me treat you to a drink instead, tell me the location."

As he spoke, he tapped the bar counter.

The bartender quickly bent down to pour him a drink.

Mikuriya Shouta pushed it toward the silver-haired youth.

"Police Chief Mikuriya..." The silver-haired youth looked down at the drink with a strained face, trying to continue disassociating himself.

"Slap!"

But before he could finish speaking, Mikuriya Shouta slapped his face, spitting out a word, "Drink."

Left with no choice, the silver-haired youth picked up the drink and downed it. "Chief, I’ve learned my lesson since I was last arrested, I really don’t know about my brother’s actions!"

"Keep going." Mikuriya Shouta’s face remained impassive as he signaled the bartender to pour another drink, pushing it again toward the silver-haired youth and flicking cigarette ash as he spoke, "If you don’t talk, keep drinking until you feel that I’ve given you enough face to help me out with this little favor."

It’s a good thing cell phones with photo and internet capabilities haven’t appeared yet; otherwise, with this kind of law enforcement, he would be all over the internet tomorrow, and without a strong enough network, he’d be waiting for dismissal.

In full view, the silver-haired youth was forced to drink one glass after another until he couldn’t anymore, his face pale, drinking and vomiting simultaneously.

"I can’t, I can’t anymore." Not knowing how many drinks in, the silver-haired youth kept waving his hands, refusing more.

Mikuriya Shouta signaled, "Help him."

Two subordinates immediately rushed to help, one controlling the silver-haired youth while the other forcibly poured drinks into him.

"Asshole! Drink! Open your mouth and drink!"

"Our Chief is treating, and you dare refuse? No respect, huh! Idiot! Open your mouth!"

The two policemen were rough, spilling much of the alcohol on the silver-haired youth’s clothes or forcing it into his nose, causing him to cough repeatedly.

"Stop...no more! I’ll talk, I’ll talk!" The silver-haired youth could not hold on anymore and pleaded for mercy.

Mikuriya Shouta then signaled his subordinates to stop.
