Chapter 404: Chapter 360: In a Critical Moment, Immediately Launch a Fierce Attack and Kill Everyone!
"Inspector, the place is swarming with Police, searching house-to-house, especially the hotels are prime targets, we won’t be able to hide for long."
A officer tasked with gathering information returned and reported to Shinichi Nakamura with a serious expression.
"We don’t need to hide for long, just three or four hours should suffice, backup from the Police Headquarters is already on the way," Shinichi Nakamura said confidently.
He then quickly changed the subject, "However, we can’t stay in this hotel any longer, we must move."
Once the police would knock, the hotel owner would definitely sell them out.
"Let’s go to my place," Yoko Oda blurted out.
Shinichi Nakamura turned to look at the other three men.
The three men exchanged glances and nodded in agreement.
Shinichi Nakamura immediately grabbed a bag containing a camera and stood up, saying, "There’s no time to lose, let’s go now."
The five of them didn’t even bother to pack, only bringing along their issued guns and phones, and hurriedly left the hotel.
Since all vehicles in the city were being checked at temporary checkpoints on the roads and they would not have been able to escape if they got blocked, they decided to just walk.
Luckily, the Oda Family’s home was not too far from the hotel they were staying at, and soon they reached the street it was located on, but the five were already breathlessly tired.
"We’re almost there, just ahead," Yoko pointed at a house while wiping off sweat with her hand.
"Wooh-wooh-wooh-"
Just then, accompanied by approaching siren sounds and flashing police lights, a patrol car appeared from the opposite direction.
The five immediately tensed up, even more nervous than when facing actual criminals.
"Walk normally, don’t look down, acting sneaky might arouse their suspicion," Shinichi Nakamura cautioned, and they walked ahead as if nothing was amiss, chatting and laughing.
The patrol car slowly drove past them.
"Phew—"
Just as they breathed a sigh of relief, the patrol car suddenly reversed and the passenger window rolled down, with the police officer inside shouting out, "Hey, you five, wait a second!"
Shinichi Nakamura and the others froze.
Damn, why did they come back?
"It’s you five," the police from the car shouted again, showing some impatience, "Come here!"
"What do we do?" Yoko whispered.
"There are only two of them," Nakamura said.
Yoko and the other three understood his implication.
Immediately, all five turned and walked towards the patrol car, with Shinichi Nakamura deliberately walking behind with his head down.
"Officer, is there a problem?" Yoko, leading the way, asked innocently.
The co-driver police officer interrogated, "What are your names, where do you live, do you have any identification, show me."
Though Japan didn’t have an ID card system, they did have similar documents like driver’s licenses.
The reason they returned was because they inadvertently noticed from the rearview mirror the obvious sigh of relief from the five, which aroused their suspicion.
Although their main mission was to capture a wanted criminal, catching other suspects in the process would also be considered a great achievement.
"Hey!" Yoko responded, reaching into his coat, then pulled out a gun and warned the officer, "Don’t move! Or I’ll shoot you!"
Shinichi Nakamura and the other three likewise drew their guns.
The two officers paled, instinctively raising their hands in fear; they had expected to catch small fish, not encounter five armed felons.
"Zzz—Car 052, what’s going on?"
But just then, a voice from the dispatcher came through the car’s intercom.
As a safety precaution, they had turned on their radio before reversing back.
"Idiot!" Shinichi Nakamura furiously smashed his gun on the face of the co-driver, then tore off the intercom and threw it out, saying, "Get in the car, let’s go!"
"Don’t kill us! Don’t kill us!"
The two policemen inside the car shivered in terror.
"Enough talk!" Shinichi Nakamura smashed the co-driver’s face again with his gun, then turned to Yoko and said, "Tie this guy up and stuff him in the trunk."
Otherwise, they wouldn’t all be able to fit.
"Alright!" Yoko and the others immediately followed the order.
Then Yoko took charge of driving, with Shinichi Nakamura in the co-driver’s seat, and the other three squeezed into the backseat, holding a local officer from the Osaka Prefecture at gunpoint.
The kidnapped officer quickly realized something—the gang was carrying police guns, and he grew even more frightened as that meant the five had likely killed at least five policemen, showing how ruthlessly violent they were.
He regretted why he had decided to reverse the car.
Since their location was compromised, they couldn’t head to the Oda house anymore. Utilizing his local expertise, Yoko drove swiftly, trying to find a hidden spot to take refuge, but pursuers from all directions arrived in the blink of an eye, forcing them to abandon the car and take a hostage into a house.
The arriving police promptly surrounded the house.
"Attention inside, release the hostage and surrender immediately! Or we will storm in!"
"Inspector, shall we reveal our identities?" Listening to the commands outside, Yoko couldn’t help but say.
Previously, they were the ones giving orders from outside.
This was a new experience for them.
"No," Shinichi Nakamura said coldly, shaking his head, "The surveillance along the way must have captured us; Tanaka Guikuma would recognize me with just one look; they don’t know we are police and treat us like criminals, which prevents them from recklessly attacking while we have a hostage."
