Tokyo: From Lawless Madpolice to Minister -
Chapter 246 - 239: We don’t follow the law, neither do you, right?
Chapter 246: Chapter 239: We don’t follow the law, neither do you, right?
Masheng Jiubao’s home.
A large black suitcase was placed beside the coffee table.
Inside was a suitcase full of US Dollars, all counterfeit.
Among the stack of counterfeit bills near the bottom, a hole had been dug in the middle, and a tracker, which was currently active, had been inserted. Unless Big Black Moles or Ponytail happened to pick up and inspect this specific stack, they would never discover it.
After all, except when it comes to women,
men rarely pry something apart to look inside.
Masheng Jiubao sat nervously on the sofa, continually swallowing his saliva as beads of sweat formed on his forehead.
"Ding-a-ling, ding-a-ling!"
A burst of urgent ringing from the telephone suddenly filled the room.
Masheng Jiubao took a deep breath, his sweaty hand gripping and then releasing his knee, and leaned forward to grab the cordless phone. "This is Masheng Jiubao."
"Manager Masheng, this is Mister Criminal. Have you prepared the ten million US Dollars I demanded?"
"Of course!" Masheng Jiubao replied, then added, "I can give you the money, but I hope you keep your promise and give me my stuff."
"Depends on my mood. You don’t have the right to negotiate now. Bring the money personally to the convenience store at 114, Putian 1-chome in Shinagawa District. There’s a white Toyota Corolla parked in the alley behind the store, the key is on the left front wheel. Just put the money in the trunk, lock it, and leave."
"Understood!" Masheng Jiubao responded earnestly.
The caller hung up immediately.
A policeman, responsible for monitoring and recording the call, put down his headset and immediately contacted Yoshikai Youzai.
"Police Chief Sakai, the criminal just called Manager Masheng, instructing him to deliver the money now to..."
Since it was uncertain whether Big Black Moles and Ponytail would first ask which of the five men to bring the money, Yoshikai Youzai had made the same arrangements at the homes of all five men.
"Let Manager Masheng do as the criminal instructed," Yoshikai Youzai ordered before hanging up, then turned to his subordinates and said, "Keep one person monitoring the signal from the tracker. The rest of you, get in the vehicles and stand by."
"Understood!" everyone responded in unison.
Since the strong anti-surveillance skills of Big Black Moles and Ponytail were confirmed by the kidnapping case of Heize Shengli’s only son, their choosing the location to collect the money indicated that they could ensure it was safe there.
Therefore, Yoshikai Youzai didn’t position anyone to watch the money collection point, in order to avoid alerting them and disturbing the operation. He planned to rely solely on the tracker to pinpoint their final location, then rush out, grab everything, and kill them quickly.
Afterward, they could plant some evidence on an unsolved case on the two men. After all, once they were dead, they couldn’t defend themselves.
Meanwhile, on the roof of an apartment building in Putian 1-chome of Shinagawa District, Big Black Moles was meticulously observing the area around the convenience store at number 114 with a pair of binoculars, checking for any suspicious vehicles or pedestrians.
"Big bro, see anything? Let me have a look?"
Ponytail reached to snatch Big Black Moles’ binoculars.
"Back off!" Big Black Moles dodged and after a while, handed over the binoculars, "No discoveries."
"No discoveries, that’s good. These officials are the weakest and most likely to compromise. They can always embezzle more money, but once they lose their position, it’s gone for good. We’ve got a tight grip on their weak spot, they wouldn’t dare call the police," Ponytail began to play with the binoculars, muttering under his breath.
"They are the weakest and most likely to compromise, but they are also the most ruthless and vicious," Big Black Moles lit a cigarette and took a slow drag, "Indeed, they might not dare call the police, but what if they take the chance to arrange a hit? That’s why we can’t afford to be careless."
"In a little while, follow the plan. After Masheng Jiubao places the money in the car and leaves, you go down, move the money to the trunk, leave the cash box, in case there’s a tracker in there. Then purposely drive around Ooi Town a couple times. I’ll stay up here watching to see if anyone follows you. Once I confirm it’s safe, I’ll call you, you come to pick me up, then we take the money back to our hideout before asking the next person to collect the money."
Even though he was extremely cautious, unfortunately, Yoshikai Youzai had predicted his prediction, and did not place the tracker inside the suitcase but had hidden it inside the money itself.
"Okay." Ponytail, holding the binoculars, stared intensely at a girl changing clothes in the building opposite, drooling with desire, his throat pulsing as he scratched his crotch absently and responded.
Big Black Moles noticed the carelessness in his voice, furrowed his brows, unconsciously turned his head, and followed the line of sight to the building opposite, catching a glimpse of the enticing figure changing clothes.
All of a sudden, Big Black Moles couldn’t help but jump up and slapped Ponytail on the head, "What are you looking at, pervert!"
He then snatched the binoculars and started leering at the girl who was changing, his expression growing increasingly lecherous.
"Damn, she’s really big!"
Though they indulged in women often, the thrill of peeping at decent women was even more exciting.
"Big bro, let me see too!" Ponytail was nearly frantic, reaching for the binoculars.
But Big Black Moles was unyielding, pressing a hand against Ponytail’s face, firmly restraining him.
Only after the woman had finished changing did he, still somewhat reluctantly, hand the binoculars to Ponytail.
Ponytail eagerly raised the binoculars to look.
But realized the woman had already changed. As he was about to put down the binoculars, his expression suddenly changed drastically.
He saw a man, who had been sitting on the couch, suddenly stand as the woman bent over to pour water, pull out a dagger, and stab her in the neck, then fled without looking back. The woman slowly collapsed onto the floor.
"Damn it, big bro, look! The woman who just changed got killed!" Ponytail exclaimed in shock.
Big Black Moles put out his cigarette, took the binoculars for a quick look, and indeed saw the woman lying in a pool of blood in the living room, then frowned, "She’s dead, so what? It has nothing to do with us."
Ponytail smacked his lips, feeling it was a pity.
After another ten minutes, Masheng Jiubao’s car entered the back alley of Convenience Store No. 114 and parked next to the white Corolla. Then he found the car keys, opened the trunk, and placed the cashbox inside.
Big Black Moles watched this scene through his binoculars. After watching Masheng Jiubao drive away, he said, "Alright, he’s gone. It’s your turn now."
"Roger that!" Ponytail immediately turned and went downstairs.
With binoculars in hand, Big Black Moles watched as Ponytail walked up to the Corolla, opened the trunk, and poured stacks of US Dollars into it; then he tossed the cashbox aside and drove out of the alley.
Seeing that Ponytail had driven around Ooi Town twice without being followed, Big Black Moles confirmed that Masheng Jiubao hadn’t played any tricks and immediately made a call to Ponytail.
"Alright, drive to the apartment building and pick me up."
.........
"How’s it going? Are they still going in circles?"
Inside the police car, Police Chief Sakai asked his subordinate who was monitoring the tracker signal on the other end of the phone.
"The signal has started to move in a straight line, now leaving Ooi Town, currently heading towards West Ooi via Optical Road; it’s turning now, driving into..."
"Keep me updated," said Police Chief Sakai before picking up the radio and issuing an order, "Depart! All units follow me, turn off sirens and lights."
"Yes, sir!"
Big Black Moles and Ponytail, oblivious that the police were tracking them, drove to their hideout located at Putian 1-chome, 112-113, Ota District.
It was a duplex without a yard. They parked the car in a nearby open parking space and began loading money into bags they had prepared earlier.
Ten million US Dollars, a thousand per stack, ten thousand per bundle, which also included a hundred bundles, and it took a while to pack.
Neither had checked if the money was counterfeit, believing Masheng Jiubao wouldn’t dare give them fake notes.
Japanese people don’t generally make casual visits. Other than busy commercial areas, residential zones in daylight are virtually pedestrian-free, and the Ota District is particularly secluded in Tokyo. Thus, the duo boldly stuffed cash in broad daylight without fear of being seen.
Having just finished packing the money, Police Chief Sakai and his crew, following the tracking signal, also arrived. Before the car had even fully stopped, they saw Big Black Moles and Ponytail walking towards the front door from the parking spot with bags in hand.
Big Black Moles and Ponytail were taken aback at the sight of the sudden appearance of the police cars. Ponytail instinctively reached towards his back, but Big Black Moles stopped him with a look.
Confident they hadn’t been followed, Big Black Moles concluded the police might not be there for them. Acting prematurely could blow their cover, he thought. Better to try bluffing their way through.
And if the police were indeed there for them, drawing their guns later wouldn’t be too late. After all, escaping now was futile; the police wouldn’t likely shoot without cause.
The initiative was still theirs.
"Excuse me, officers..."
Big Black Moles forced a smile and waved his hand.
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"
In the next second, as the sound of shattering car window glass resounded, Police Chief Sakai inside the car took the lead and began firing through the window, his gun sounding like firecrackers non-stop. Caught off-guard, Big Black Moles and Ponytail were hit by several bullets and staggered before slowly falling to the ground.
The bags spilt open, scattering banknotes.
Then Police Chief Sakai and his men finally got out of the car and surrounded the fallen duo.
Since police bullets are relatively weak,
both men, despite having at least twenty-two bullets in them, were still alive, lying on the ground, chests heaving as they looked up at the circle of police surrounding them, with a look of confusion and frustration.
Damn it! Are these guys really cops?
How come they act more like thugs than us?
Wasn’t it supposed to be a negotiation first, a warning shot, then opening fire? What kind of police start shooting through car windows without warning?
Are they arresting a suspect here?
This is like a gang vendetta!
Is there no law left? No justice?
We don’t obey the law.
You fuckers don’t either, huh!
"Spurt—"
The more Big Black Moles thought about it, the more aggrieved he felt. Overwhelmed with emotion, he spurted blood and then breathed his last.
Ponytail also followed suit, letting go of life.
Thus ended the criminal lives of two notorious gangsters who had dominated South Korea and had sailed over to break into the Japanese market.
"Police Chief, the casualties are stable. Should I call an ambulance?" asked a subordinate looking at Police Chief Sakai.
"Go ahead and call," Police Chief Sakai said, holstering his gun.
Calling for an ambulance at least proved that the police wanted to preserve the suspects’ lives as much as possible. Unfortunately, the men themselves were too weak to wait for medical help and died before it arrived.
So this really couldn’t be blamed on the police.
After all, it was the criminals who fired first, shattering their car windows, forcing them to retaliate.
