Chapter 219: Chapter 212: Openly Admit, Personally Slay the Traitor, Eldest Brother and Sister-in-Law
Tokyo, Adachi District.
In an abandoned single-family home.
The house had been vacant for a long time, lacking proper maintenance and repair. The wooden structure was severely damaged, but it still provided some shelter from the elements as a temporary refuge.
Matsuboto Hirokuni was dragged out of the car and pushed into the house by Yakai, with Hasegawa Ze and Big Black Moles closely following and casually shutting the not-so-secure door behind them.
"Mmmmm!" Bound hand and foot, with his mouth sealed, Matsuboto Hirokuni finally came face-to-face with Hasegawa Ze for the first time since being tied up, recognizing him despite the hat and mask.
After all, they had worked together for so many years.
Hasegawa Ze slowly removed his hat and mask.
Matsuboto Hirokuni’s reaction became even more violent, his eyes wide with struggle, and his muffled noises unclear.
"Mmmmmmm! Mmmmm!"
Seeing this, Big Black Moles slightly frowned and discretely took a step back, his hand touching the handle of his gun.
"I actually lied to you guys," Hasegawa Ze suddenly said calmly.
Big Black Moles instantly raised his gun, aiming at him.
Yakai, also holding a gun, kept control over Matsuboto Hirokuni. The gun in his hand had been searched from Matsuboto.
"The ledger I mentioned isn’t actually in Matsuboto Hirokuni’s hands; I just wanted you to help me kidnap him," Hasegawa Ze turned to face Big Black Moles.
Yakai immediately became furious, "You dare trick us?"
"Keep talking, I’m listening," Big Black Moles said, surprisingly calm, knowing Hasegawa Ze hadn’t finished.
Hasegawa Ze wiped a chair with his hat before sitting down, speaking indifferently, "I’ve said before, Takai Baoyu had two most trusted personal bodyguards during his lifetime, one was Matsuboto Hirokuni, and the other was me."
"But Matsuboto Hirokuni betrayed that trust in the critical moment, causing our boss to die. I want to avenge him, but the enemies are not just one, and alone, I am too weak."
"Damn it!" Yakai cursed in frustration, grinding his teeth, "So you fucking used that non-existent ledger to manipulate us?"
"No! The ledger does exist, but it’s not with Matsuboto Hirokuni, it’s with me," as Hasegawa Ze finished, he looked up, making eye contact with Big Black Moles.
"Why reveal this now?" Big Black Moles asked.
"I initially just wanted to deceive you to take revenge, but I felt that with your capabilities, if you were genuinely willing to help me, the chances of success would be higher and the results better," Hasegawa Ze said with a frank expression, pointing to the gun in his hand, "From the moment I handed you the gun, I had already entertained this thought."
At that time, the three of them had only one gun, meaning whoever held the gun held the power. He had handed the gun to Big Black Moles as both a test and a gesture of sincerity, and as preparation for this confession.
Big Black Moles shook the barrel of the gun, "I never leave a job unfinished, you know what I want."
"I’m not interested in money. Let’s make a formal deal now. You two help me exact revenge for our boss, and after it’s done, I’ll hand over the ledger to you," Hasegawa Ze said sincerely.
Yakai responded, "You’ve already deceived us once, what if you don’t actually have the ledger and are just using us again? Don’t give me crap about your life being in our hands. My eyes aren’t blind, I can see you don’t care about living or dying."
"I believe you," Big Black Moles spoke up.
Yakai became agitated, "Boss!"
"I believe someone who’s still willing to risk everything to avenge a dead boss is at least grateful," Big Black Moles holstered his gun and stared at Hasegawa Ze, "We’ll help you revenge, you can’t possibly not repay our favor. If you were that sort of person, you wouldn’t be here now."
"Thank you!" Hasegawa Ze stood up and bowed, adding, "To show my sincerity, and to apologize for the previous deceit, I’ll hand over part of the ledger to you tonight."
Big Black Moles stroked his slightly curled long facial hair, "Don’t mention it, it’s just business. What you’re offering is enough to make us take the risk. We’re not afraid of risk, only that the rewards won’t be substantial enough."
"If the deal goes well, you’ll see how substantial the rewards are," Hasegawa Ze remarked, his heart racing at the thought of the ledger, "It can help you extort many officials, but it can also become a death sentence for you, depending on how you use it."
"Sounds thrilling," Big Black Moles smiled.
Yakai started to speak again but stopped, intimidated by a glance from Big Black Moles, and swallowed his words.
Hasegawa Ze nodded, stood up, and ripped the tape from Matsuboto Hirokuni’s mouth, "We meet again."
"Ze-san, listen to me explain!" Matsuboto Hirokuni, sweating profusely and panicked, "My family was taken hostage, they threatened me with their safety..."
"Family?" Hasegawa Ze interrupted Matsuboto Hirokuni mockingly, "You knew the boss before me. If it wasn’t for him, how could you have established yourself in Tokyo? Married and had children? Without him, you would have no family. Yet you betrayed the boss for what he gave you. You deserve to die!"
Matsuboto Hirokuni was at a loss for words, facing this man who, unlike him, had no family from young and was still unmarried and childless.
"Ze, you don’t understand what family means."
"But I know what loyalty means!" Hasegawa Ze’s gaze was icy as he spoke firmly, "The boss gave you everything, but you didn’t give him anything in return."
As his words fell, he turned to Big Black Moles and politely requested, "Please, pass me a knife, thank you."
Big Black Moles signalled to his subordinate, and Yakai drew out a dagger and handed it to Hasegawa Ze.
"Ze, please spare me! Takai Baoyu is already dead! What good will killing me do?"
Matsuboto Hirokuni struggled desperately, pleading for mercy.
"You now can’t even call him ’boss’ anymore," As Hasegawa Ze’s words ended, his hand didn’t hesitate to plunge the knife into Matsuboto’s chest, leaving only the hilt visible as blood slowly soaked his clothes.
Matsuboto Hirokuni’s body jerked, and as Hasegawa Ze twisted the knife, pain and despair appeared on his face, a trail of blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
"Thud!"
Hasegawa Ze unsheathed his sword, and the blood spurted onto his face and body, forming splotches on the ground.
"Thud!"
He stabbed again and said emotionlessly, "Killing you is useless, the boss won’t come back to life, but it does give me some peace of mind."
"Eh—eh—" Matsuboto Hirokuni opened his mouth wide, uttering indistinct sounds, and managed to say intermittently, "Please... don’t harm my family."
"Every debt has its debtor, I won’t go after your family," Hasegawa Ze replied indifferently.
Matsuboto Hirokuni’s body relaxed, his chest heaving violently, breathing in less and exhaling more. He opened his mouth as if to say something else but weakly closed his eyes.
Hasegawa Ze got up and said to Big Black Moles and the man with the small braid, "Help me deal with the body, I’ll fulfill the promise I just made and give you some of the less important names from the ledger."
"Alright!" Big Black Moles nodded.
Watching Hasegawa Ze leave, the man with the small braid couldn’t help but speak up, "Big bro, should we follow him?"
"This kind of person is trustworthy," Big Black Moles sighed and continued, "Following him aside, what if we are not spotted? Even if he doesn’t notice us, how would we get hold of the ledger? Snatch it from him? He’d rather destroy the ledger than give it to us. If we want the ledger, we must complete the deal honestly. Don’t break this hard-earned trust."
"He might be willing to give up his life, but really even money?" the man with the small braid expressed his skepticism, always feeling that after the deal is done, the other party won’t willingly hand over the priceless ledger.
Big Black Moles exhaled and said, "People differ, what they persue and what they care about varies. Let’s just deal with the body."
.........
"Sir, you’re back."
As Aoyama Xiu Xin’s car entered the courtyard, a blonde with long legs and ample bosom quickly came forward to bend over and open the door.
The previously empty villa, now with four beautiful female bodyguards, finally seemed a bit livelier.
"Sir, your older brother has come back," one of the bodyguards reported to Aoyama Xiu Xin after he alighted from the car.
Aoyama Xiu Xin raised his eyebrows and walked into the living room to find his older brother, Aoyama Sosuke, indeed fidgeting on the sofa, with his sister-in-law sitting cold-faced at the other end.
"Xiu Xin, you’re back!" Aoyama Sosuke finally breathed a sigh of relief, hastily putting down his glass of water that he had been drinking to mask his awkwardness, now feeling bloated.
Aoyama Haruko got up with a composed face and naturally helped Aoyama Xiu Xin take off his coat to hang it up.
Watching this scene, Aoyama Sosuke inevitably felt a sting of jealousy; he used to be treated this way.
"Big bro, why didn’t you tell me you were coming back?" Aoyama Xiu Xin sat on the sofa.
Aoyama Sosuke glanced at Aoyama Haruko and explained, "Haruko said you were having dinner at your father-in-law’s place, how could I disturb you? Besides, I didn’t wait that long."
After hanging up the clothes, Aoyama Haruko walked over.
Aoyama Xiu Xin pulled her into his arms.
Aoyama Haruko’s body shuddered, instinctively trying to struggle free, but also fearing to hurt Aoyama Xiu Xin’s pride.
She could only blush and let him hold her, overwhelmed with shame.
Aoyama Sosuke watching this scene almost spit out his tea, a twitch forming at the corner of his mouth.
"Big brother, did you come to see me for something?" Aoyama Xiu Xin buried his head in her neck, played with her smooth hand, and softly asked with his eyes half-closed.
Being a person who bullied the weak and feared the strong, feeling Aoyama Xiu Xin’s exaggerated size, Aoyama Haruko felt uneasy, her cheeks flushed tenderly, her body trembling slightly, biting her red lips, staying silent.
Aoyama Sosuke glanced at Aoyama Haruko.
Obviously, it was inconvenient to speak in front of her.
Aoyama Haruko, with a mix of embarrassment and allure, shot him a glance and went upstairs, "You guys chat."
Their understanding made it hard for Aoyama Sosuke to judge.
"A corporation approached me, offering to support my congressional campaign next year with funds and connections, but I checked, and the corporation’s boss is Korean," Aoyama Sosuke began discussing the matter at hand.
Aoyama Xiu Xin asked, "What do you think?"
"I naturally refused, as the law clearly forbids accepting campaign funds from foreign corporations or individuals. Moreover, if I agreed, they would have control over me forever," Aoyama Sosuke firmly stated and explained, "I thought it might relate to you, so I came to mention it. Otherwise, why would the Koreans take notice of me?"
"I will handle this matter," Aoyama Xiu Xin knew it must be the work of the Korean Civil Group, then added, "You can start preparing for next year’s House of Representatives election, I’ll arrange a few corporations to support you financially, and you can also visit Heize Shengli, he will introduce you to some connections."
"Alright!" Aoyama Sosuke was thrilled, his primary purpose for coming tonight was to gauge his brother’s role in his future.
He too wanted progress!
Thank goodness his brother hadn’t forgotten him.
Having such a brother, what’s the harm in giving him a beautiful wife? Helping him in any way was totally acceptable!
A man must know gratitude, as a couple is one, it’s only fair for Haruko to help me repay Xiu Xin’s favor.
After the older brother left, Aoyama Xiu Xin called Yoshikai Youzai, asking him to quickly investigate Iihara Nishi and her boyfriend’s backgrounds.
Better hurry and get rid of the green hat on big uncle’s head.
As for the older brother’s green hat, let’s make sure it’s fastened even tighter; he seems to quite enjoy it
