Chapter 211: Chapter 204: Shock, The Sky Flier, Inagawa Calls

August 13, clear skies, perfect for a protest.

This was the third day since the numerous bloodshed incidents orchestrated by Takeda Fuji had been exposed, and thousands of citizens with diverse backgrounds had gathered below the Takeda Fuji headquarters building.

"Shut down Takeda Fuji! Punish Takai Baoyu severely!"

"Bloody debts must be repaid in blood! Punish the murderer!"

"Takai Baoyu must turn himself in to the police immediately!"

Various slogans roared into the air, and on the periphery of the protesting crowd were several heavily armed rapid response police teams, poised for action.

In the top-floor office, Takai Baoyu, wearing an expensive suit, stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, looking down contemptuously at the crowded masses below like ants.

"Idiots! A bunch of troublemakers! Call the Police Headquarters, demand they immediately disperse these rioters disrupting the company’s normal operations. I pay so much tax to the government every year, is it all in vain?"

He had thought that, as before, he could confuse the public by buying off some politicians and media to speak for him and ultimately dissolve the crisis into nothingness.

But for three continuous days, it grew worse. Now, there were no media outlets or politicians daring to take his money.

"President, we just called. The Police Headquarters said that unless the protesters start a riot, they will not intervene," a senior company official replied.

"Dammit!" Takai Baoyu grew angrier by the day and burst out furiously, "I’m the person who pays the most taxes in Japan! Which of those troublemakers has contributed to the country more than I have? Those bastards at the Police Headquarters, they’re spending my tax money!"

"President, perhaps you should find a way to lay low," suggested another executive, wiping his sweat.

Takai Baoyu snorted, "What’s there to hide from? What is there to fear from those troublemakers? They’ll just shout a few times and that’s it. They wouldn’t dare break in here, would they?"

He had risen from the bottom himself, so he understood the mindset of the lower classes well; riling them up to shout with the crowd is one thing, but they didn’t have the courage for more extreme actions.

"Let’s all charge in and find Takai Baoyu!"

Someone bellowed from the crowd.

What had been a noisy crowd fell silent for a moment.

"Let’s all rush in!"

Suddenly, a dozen people took the lead and charged.

This set off a chain reaction, and everyone followed suit, shouting as they stormed in, looting and smashing.

All the Takeda Fuji employees who stood in their way were mercilessly knocked down.

This led some of the more clever employees to blend into the crowd and join them since they couldn’t beat them.

"Take whatever you want, this is all what Takeda Fuji owes us! Let’s destroy this den of evil!"

"Takai Baoyu, come out and face your death!"

"Charge, everybody!"

The police, maintaining order, also took action, wielding batons and riot shields as they rushed into the crowd to stop the disturbance.

"Everyone put your hands on your head and squat down! Squat down!"

"Don’t cause trouble!"

Various voices intertwined, and the scene became chaotic.

"Idiots! How dare they! How dare they!"

Takai Baoyu standing by the floor-to-ceiling windows saw the scene unfold with a mix of shock and rage. He had never expected those troublemakers would actually dare to storm into the company.

Having previously dismissed the protesters, he was now panic-stricken, fearing he would be beaten to death if those people broke into his office.

"Quick! Get a helicopter ready for me immediately!"

As Takai Baoyu took off from the helipad on the rooftop, he saw a group wielding sticks charging onto the rooftop. He breathed a long sigh of relief as his heart pounded with the aftereffects of his terror.

"Aoyama Xiu Xin!"

Takai Baoyu squeezed out four words through clenched teeth.

In his wildest dreams, he hadn’t imagined that he, a veteran of the underworld, would be forced into such a plight by a youngster. That despicable man had actually incited the foolish public against him.

And those ignorant troublemakers, thinking they’re upholding justice, didn’t realize that they were just pathetic pawns being used by Aoyama Xiu Xin without their knowledge!

The news of the protesters’ violent attack on Takeda Fuji quickly reached the desks of the relevant officials, and Prime Minister Miyazawa gave personal instructions to launch an investigation into Takeda Fuji.

The Police Headquarters urgently convened an internal meeting, followed by a press conference. At the conference, Renping Kuniaki claimed that the Police Headquarters had already been secretly investigating Takeda Fuji but hadn’t announced it to prevent spooking the suspects, and he hoped the citizens would rationally await the results.

After Takai Baoyu had hidden in one of his secret villas, he immediately called Yokoyama Ryohi in desperation, "Sir! You must save me!"

Through his own sources, he was aware of the situation outside, but he was not willing to go to jail.

"You should turn yourself in," suggested Yokoyama Ryohi.

Takai Baoyu outright refused, "No! I will absolutely not turn myself in. Can I flee the country?"

"With the situation being so serious, if you leave now, who’s going to take responsibility? Me? Surrender yourself within today," Yokoyama Ryohi said harshly.

Takai Baoyu’s grip on the receiver turned his knuckles white, as he growled with a ferocious look, "For decades, how much money have I made for you people? And now at the first sign of trouble, you abandon me?"

"You turn yourself in, and once the dust has settled, we’ll help you with getting a reduced sentence, parole. You won’t need more than three years to get out," said Yokoyama Ryohi, his tone calm.

"I will never go to jail!" Takai Baoyu answered decisively, his voice full of venom, "Let’s all go down together if that’s what it takes! I have all the evidence of you taking money from me. Either plan a way to get me out of the country, or we’ll all end up in jail together!"

"Takai, think about your family."

"The hell I will! If I don’t have a way out, why should I care about my family? If I go in, do you think they will have a better fate?" Takai Baoyu was hysterical.

He was already 62 years old. How many more three-year periods did he have left in life? He had money in overseas accounts; he could live as a wealthy man abroad and enjoy his twilight years. There was no way he would waste his already limited remaining years in jail.

Moreover, he was well aware of the number of people he had offended over the years. As long as he was free, no one would dare touch his family. But once he was locked up, his family’s fate would be sealed.

Yokoyama Ryohi fell silent. He hadn’t expected Takai to be so mad that he wouldn’t even care about his own family.

"Fine! I’ll let you go, where are you?"

"Do you think I’d tell you?" Takai Baoyu retorted with a question, then coldly continued, "I have my own ways of leaving. I just need a little help from you. Once I have everything arranged here, I will phone you again. As long as I’m gone, nothing will involve any of you."

After he finished speaking, he pressed down the receiver and hung up.

"Beep—Beep—Beep—"

In the office, Yokoyama Ryohi’s face twisted with displeasure as he listened to the busy tone on the phone. Then, he suddenly laughed and murmured to himself, "You clearly have a way out, but you stubbornly insist on a dead-end path. Since you don’t want dignity, don’t blame me for not giving you any!"

.................

"Knock, knock, knock!"

"Hello, I’m here to check the pipes, there’s been a leak reported from downstairs. I need to check each apartment."

Hearing the voice outside, Haruno Junji, in his pajamas, didn’t hesitate to go up and open the door.

"Bang!"

The door was only partially open when someone violently forced it wider, and Haruno Junji was knocked to the ground by the door panel.

Before he could get back up, several burly men pinned him firmly to the floor, leaving him unable to move.

"What are you doing! Who are—Mmph!"

He only managed to shout twice before his mouth was covered.

"Shh!" Yamakawa Ikue squatted down next to Haruno Junji, held a finger to his lips, and spoke with a warm smile, "Mr. Aoyama sends his regards."

"Mmmph!" Haruno Junji’s eyes bulged with fear as he struggled violently, his voice muffled.

Sitting on the floor, Yamakawa Ikue said in a calm tone, "Right now, everyone’s attention is on Takeda Fuji. At this moment, a former Police Bureau chief, dispirited by his dismissal, committing suicide by jumping from a building seems to not warrant anyone’s attention."

Haruno Junji shook his head vigorously, anger and despair filling his eyes. How dare Aoyama Xiu Xin!

"What’s that, do you have something to say? Then, I’ll let you utter a few last words." Yamakawa Ikue said with a slight smile.

The hand over Haruno Junji’s mouth was removed.

Haruno Junji spoke frantically, "I want to see Aoyama Xiu Xin! I want to see Aoyama Xiu Xin! Even letting me call him would do, please, I’m begging you!"

He didn’t want to die.

And he didn’t want to die so pathetically.

"Whatever you have to say, save it for when your spirit returns on the seventh day after your death. Pass your message to Mr. Aoyama in your dream then, lest you meet the deceased and have nothing to say."

With that, Yamakawa Ikue gestured with a wave of his hand.

Then Haruno Junji was covered yet again with a hand over his mouth and hauled up towards the window, his legs kicking wildly, his mouth emitting muffled cries.

In the end, he was mercilessly thrown out of the window.

"Ah—Ah—Ah—Ah!"

"Crash!"

Accompanied by a loud noise, he fell from the building and landed on the roof of a car, dying instantly. Blood dripped steadily from his mouth and nose to the ground, his eyes wide open with rage, clearly dying with his grievances unassuaged.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, how tragic."

Yamakawa Ikue stood by the window, glanced down, then shivered and turned to leave.

But from the corner of his eye, he spotted a lot of information about Aoyama Xiu Xin and his associates on the coffee table. Frowning, he gathered it up, then ordered his men to search the other rooms. Eventually, all the files and photos related to Aoyama Xiu Xin were taken, leaving two underlings to clean up the shoe prints and other traces inside the place before he left first.

An hour later, these files and photos appeared on Aoyama Xiu Xin’s office desk. He didn’t expect that Haruno Junji, even after being dismissed, still hadn’t given up on investigating him. He truly deserved a short life!

He packed these materials into a file bag, planning to take them home after work and burn them all.

"Ding-a-ling! Ding-a-ling!"

Suddenly, his mobile phone began to ring.

"Moshi moshi, this is Aoyama Xiu Xin."

"Police Chief Aoyama, this is Inakawa Hong."

"So, it’s President Inakawa. What can I do for you?" Aoyama Xiu Xin asked with interest.

He had invited several significant violent gangs from Japan to participate in the loan machine promotion, but had deliberately left out the Daokuan Association because he was still sore about their previous attempt at assassinating him.

He had expected the Daokuan Association to appear before him soon, asking to join the feast, but there had been no movement, much to his disappointment.

And now he suddenly received a call from them.

"I know where Takai Baoyu is hiding," Inakawa Hong said in a somber tone.

Aoyama Xiu Xin immediately sat up straight. He had arranged for people to kill Takai Baoyu amidst the chaos when the crowd rushed into Takeda Fuji. However, that guy had escaped by helicopter and was now in hiding. The police needed to bring him out quickly to give the public an explanation.

Moreover, as long as Takai Baoyu was neither caught nor dead, Aoyama Xiu Xin couldn’t rest easy, knowing the ruthless old thug wouldn’t just let things be.

"What do you want?" he asked.

Inakawa Hong spoke sincerely, "We want nothing. We simply want to apologize again for our earlier rashness and truly hope to turn our weapons into jade artifacts with you."

They had been looking for an opportunity to mend fences with Aoyama Xiu Xin, hoping to get a share of the loan market when Nozawa Financial Corporation became the lone giant.

Thus, knowing that Takeda Fuji would undoubtedly clash with Nozawa Financial Corporation, the Daokuan Association was fully prepared, waiting for this chance to prove themselves.

"Fine! Tell me where Takai Baoyu is hiding, and let’s consider all our past grudges forgotten," Aoyama Xiu Xin agreed in one breath, but he didn’t mention letting them invest in Nozawa Finance.

Inakawa Hong was not disappointed, as long as they received Aoyama Xiu Xin’s forgiveness this time, there would surely be more opportunities to sit at his table in the future.

"He’s hiding in a villa in the Edogawa District... with only his two bodyguards."
