Chapter 174: Chapter 170: Such Revenge, a Night Attack, Truly Disgraceful
Sister-in-law had fallen asleep.
But Aoyama Xiu Xin could not.
Despite having worked all day, he still had to drag his exhausted body to attend to someone in the evening.
At the home of Deputy Chief Justice Takizawa Shikou.
Ever since Takazawa Chiyu was transferred to the Tokyo District Court, she had moved back home at the urging of her aunt.
She was determined to reclaim everything that rightfully belonged to her!
Tonight, Takizawa Shikou had a social engagement and hadn’t returned yet.
His five-year-old daughter was already asleep.
At this moment, only Hashimoto Miho and Takazawa Chiyu, the stepmother and stepdaughter with a seven-year age difference, remained in the living room.
Takizawa Chiyu had just bathed and changed into a light, white camisole nightgown; her black hair was tied up behind her head, her beauty fresh as a dewy peony, free from any artificial adornments.
Hashimoto Miho was still dressed in her business suit and slacks from work, and she hadn’t even removed her black ankle socks because she needed to go out to accompany her master shortly.
Thinking of Aoyama Xiu Xin made Hashimoto’s heart flutter with a mix of fear, awe, and excitement. In recent times, Aoyama Xiu Xin had visited her every night, and under his manipulation, she had become addicted to the indescribable pleasure found between humiliation and shame.
As for her initial thoughts of revenge against Aoyama Xiu Xin.
She no longer had the courage or inclination.
Takazawa Chiyu was not good with words, and her grudge against Hashimoto Miho hadn’t faded; though she had moved back home, she did not initiate conversation with her. And with Hashimoto Miho preoccupied with thoughts of Aoyama Xiu Xin, she naturally didn’t have time for her stepdaughter. Thus, although they were in the same room, it was exceptionally quiet.
"Ding-a-ling~ Ding-a-ling~"
A series of urgent telephone rings broke the silence.
Hashimoto Miho responded as if a switch had been flipped, immediately picking up the phone and answering, "Hi! Hi! Hi!"
After hanging up, with an expressionless face and in a cold tone, she said to Takazawa Chiyu, "I’m going to the office to get a document; tell your dad when he comes back."
With those words, she grabbed her bag, put on her shoes, and left the house.
Takazawa Chiyu furrowed her brows; Hashimoto Miho had been leaving the house every night for the past few days, and as a newly-transferred judge to the Tokyo District Court, she knew very well that Hashimoto didn’t have that much overtime work. Chiyu couldn’t help but become suspicious.
After pondering for a moment, Chiyu got up, cautiously went upstairs to the balcony, and peered down; then her beautiful eyes widened in shock, her expression became blank, filled with disbelief.
She hurriedly covered her mouth with her hand.
Forcing herself not to cry out in alarm.
She was both shocked and angry, and confused. She was shocked to see this hidden side of Hashimoto Miho; she was angry that her own father lavished such favor on her, yet she was so submissive to another man; she was confused as to why she would do this.
Her first reaction was to tell Takizawa Shikou.
But she soon realized something--given her father’s affection for Hashimoto Miho, without evidence, he would not only disbelieve her, he might even think she was slandering her.
She should find a way to get evidence, even ascertain the identity of that man, and then tell her father everything to expose Hashimoto Miho’s true colors.
Or she could use the evidence to threaten Hashimoto Miho: Step-mother, you wouldn’t want dad to find out, would you?
Takazawa Chiyu clenched her fists tightly, a resolution settling within her.
She hurried downstairs, got into her car, and followed.
Half an hour later, in a park, Jin Yucheng lit a cigarette, watching the attractive judge being led into the woods by his boss. He glanced in the rearview mirror at a white BMW trailing behind and his lips curled into a disdainful smile.
That car behind truly had no tracking skills; he’d noticed it halfway.
An hour later, when Aoyama Xiu Xin returned holding a disheveled Hashimoto Miho, Jin Yucheng stepped forward and whispered a few words to Aoyama Xiu Xin. Then, opening the trunk, he revealed Takizawa Chiyu inside, her hands and feet bound, her mouth stuffed with a towel, her face full of terror.
"Chiyu... Chiyu!"
Hashimoto Miho’s face paled.
When Takizawa Chiyu saw Aoyama Xiu Xin, she too froze, never imagining that it would be him.
Aoyama Xiu Xin ripped the towel from her mouth.
It was used for wiping cars.
"Police Chief Aoyama... how could you do this!" Takizawa Chiyu asked angrily.
Aoyama Xiu Xin motioned to Jin Yucheng to untie her and spoke indifferently, "Hashimoto Miho tried to harm me before; what’s wrong with my taking revenge now?"
"But..." Takizawa Chiyu was still very upset.
Aoyama Xiu Xin looked at Takazawa Chiyu and said, "Think about how this woman treated you before. Don’t you want to take revenge on her? What could shame her more than this? She won’t dare to target you again."
Takazawa Chiyu’s gaze was vacant, then a sudden rush of satisfaction flooded her, thinking, You wretch, now it’s your turn.
Half an hour later, Aoyama Xiu Xin sat in the car, watching Hashimoto Miho tentatively follow behind Takazawa Chiyu into the house, a playful look spread across his face.
"Go home."
"Yes, sir."
On the way home, Aoyama Xiu Xin saw a pack of stray dogs fighting over food, meat, and bones, now aware that someone was feeding them. He just didn’t know whether the feeder would be responsible if the dogs bit someone.
...
Kanagawa Prefecture, inside a civilian house.
A pile of liquor bottles cluttered the table in the living room where four or five official members of the Yamakawa Family, their bodies covered with dragon and tiger tattoos, were playing cards, with Yamakawa Ikue among them.
Upstairs in a bedroom, a well-built young man with a beard tossed and turned, unable to sleep. He was the man who had sued Nipponjiro for forcible sharpness.
Listening to the faint noise coming from downstairs.
The bearded man was starting to regret it.
Even though this had earned him a sum of money, he now sensed the danger and had, at least, lost his personal freedom. Although his employer had promised to let him go once everything was over, claiming that they were protecting him now.
But he always feared that his employer would silence him permanently.
After all, that’s how it’s done in the movies.
No! He couldn’t just wait to die!
The bearded man abruptly sat up in bed.
The money had already been received by his family. He could just go back now, take them, and flee far away. As for the rest, what did it have to do with him?
Ensuring his own freedom and safety was most important.
Thinking thus, he got dressed and tiptoed to the balcony, preparing to escape. But looking down from his vantage point, he was startled to find more than a dozen sneaky figures surrounding the house, figures who hadn’t been there before.
Realizing something was amiss, he immediately aborted his escape plan and rushed downstairs to tell Yamakawa Ikue and the others, "I saw a lot of people outside."
The card game came to an abrupt halt.
"Call for reinforcements, grab your weapons!" As soon as Yamakawa Ikue finished speaking, he stood up and grabbed a machete from behind the door.
With the Senate election less than ten days away.
All violent gangs had been warned. During this time, no one dared to use guns, or they’d be cracked down on.
"Bang! Boom!"
With a loud crash, a sedan smashed through the front gate and charged in, followed by a dozen strong men with black bands on their arms, wielding knives and clubs as they surged inside.
Leading them was a bald man in a tank top.
"Go in, snatch the person! Dead or alive!"
The bald man shouted, leading the charge with his knife, dashing up the stairs and kicking the door with all his might.
"Bang!"
The door shook but didn’t open.
"Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!"
The bald man kept kicking furiously, but just as he did, the door suddenly opened from inside. Carried by his momentum, he stumbled inwards. Yamakawa Ikue swung his knife, slicing through flesh with a "schlurp," and the bald man’s neck sprayed blood as he fell to the ground.
But the men behind him only paused for a second before they continued rushing in with their weapons, ready for action. After all, the elite of the gang had been sent to Kanagawa Prefecture for this kidnapping mission.
"Idiots! Come at me, all of you!" Yamakawa Ikue, his body spattered with the bald man’s blood, blocked the door with a ferocious look.
"They’re outnumbered. Attack together, kill him!"
"Monkeys, to the battle!"
"Charge!"
The scene turned into a whirlwind of flashing blades and wild shouts of encouragement.
Though the Yamakawa Family was outnumbered, they held the tactical advantage at the door, making it difficult for the attackers to penetrate. And with Yamakawa Ikue’s terrifying ferocity, they repeatedly repelled the enemy’s assaults.
Kanagawa Prefecture was Yamakawa Family turf, and reinforcements arrived quickly. Seeing the situation was hopeless, the attackers fled or surrendered, and a small-scale gang fight ended, with Yamakawa Ikue wounded by several cuts.
"Wait! Where is he?"
After securing the scene, someone from the Yamakawa Family suddenly realized the bearded man they were protecting was gone.
"He was just here!"
"Idiot! Did he run off in the chaos?"
Panic ensued among them all. After all, this was a task explicitly entrusted to them by the chairman, even assigning the manager to personally lead the protection effort, which spoke volumes of its importance.
"What are you waiting for? Go after him!"
