Chapter 157: Chapter 153: Lifted But Couldn’t Kill, Prison Turbulence (Seeking Monthly Pass)
"Read it out." Aoyama Xiu Xin was too lazy to read it himself.
"Zhongshan Mie, female, 50 years old, Tokyo resident, deceased parents who were both National Members of Parliament, her deceased sister Zhongshan Miwa was the ex-wife of former Supreme Court Vice President Takizawa Shikou..."
Upon hearing this, Aoyama Xiu Xin perked up.
"After marrying Takizawa Shikou, Zhongshan Miwa had a daughter, Takizawa Chiyu, who is now 25 years old and serves as a judge at the Tokyo Family Court. After her father married his current wife, Hashimoto Miho, she moved to live with Zhongshan Mie. For her, Zhongshan Mie has had several conflicts with Hashimoto Miho... That’s all."
Aoyama Xiu Xin roughly guessed why Hashimoto Miho wanted to target Zhongshan Mie—it was nothing more than Zhongshan Mie supporting Takizawa Chiyu in the competition for benefits, which annoyed her.
Hashimoto Miho must be the proverbial wicked stepmother. To her, everything that Takizawa Shikou has now should belong to her and her child, so how could she possibly share it with Takizawa Chiyu, the daughter of the former wife?
And Takizawa Chiyu herself must be of a delicate disposition, entirely reliant on her aunt Zhongshan Mie to protect her interests, which is why Hashimoto Miho wanted to deal with Zhongshan Mie instead of directly targeting Takizawa Chiyu.
This woman truly harbored malicious intentions.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend, Aoyama Xiu Xin felt he could definitely cooperate with Zhongshan Mie.
"Okay, you can go now." Aoyama Xiu Xin waved his hand after forming a plan in his mind.
"Yes!" Nakamura Shinichi bowed and left.
At noon, the Tokyo District Court issued an arrest warrant for Heize Xunyi, who trembled with happiness upon hearing the news and wept with joy.
In the afternoon, the lawyer arranged by Mrs. Heize met with Heize Xunyi and conveyed the words of Heize Yonghe.
Already chilled to the bone by the air conditioning, Heize Xunyi couldn’t take it anymore. With instructions from his father, he promptly confessed and cooperated with the evidence collection.
Before the end of the workday, the case report was written.
After Aoyama Xiu Xin reviewed it and confirmed there were no issues, he took the case report to Renping Kuniaki’s office.
"Knock, knock, knock!"
"Come in!"
Aoyama Xiu Xin pushed the door open.
"Police Chief Aoyama, what is it?" Renping Kuniaki looked up briefly before returning his gaze to the documents.
Aoyama Xiu Xin deliberately left the door open, stood at attention near the doorway, and loudly announced, "Director, all three perpetrators of the 1990 serial killings are now in custody!"
His voice boomed like a large bell, resonating through the corridor.
Making sure everyone outside could hear clearly.
After a brief silence,
Buzzing of voices suddenly filled the air.
"The serial murder case is solved? Did Aoyama Xiu Xin really crack it? It’s been so quiet, I thought there was no progress; was he planning a surprise for the director?"
"Shinichi! Aoyama is truly Heisei’s No.1 Detective."
"Quiet, quiet, I can’t hear."
Renping Kuniaki was also stunned for a moment, then looked up incredulously and asked, "What did you just say?"
He wondered if he was hallucinating.
"All three perpetrators of the 1990 serial killings are in custody!" Aoyama Xiu Xin repeated loudly.
Renping Kuniaki was greatly disturbed. He had given this case to Aoyama Xiu Xin as part of a plan to sabotage him. With no progress for a long time, he assumed Aoyama Xiu Xin had made no headway, but it turned out he was saving a bombshell.
In order to complete the sabotage plan, the Police Headquarters had, under his arrangements, exaggeratedly promoted Aoyama Xiu Xin to the public, granting him the reputation of being Heisei’s No.1 Detective.
While promoting Aoyama Xiu Xin, he also repeatedly publicized that Aoyama Xiu Xin had taken on the case of the 1990 serial killings and was confident in solving it.
The idea was for Aoyama Xiu Xin to face backlash from all sides when he failed to solve the case, throwing him from a greater height for a harder fall, but now Aoyama Xiu Xin had suddenly informed him that the case was solved.
His sabotage plan had turned into a joke.
Now that he had set him up high, not only had he failed to bring him down, but he had also elevated him even higher.
The successful resolution of this case further solidified Aoyama Xiu Xin’s reputation as Heisei’s No.1 Detective.
Thinking that he had unwittingly contributed significantly to Aoyama Xiu Xin’s triumph, Renping Kuniaki felt as if he was swallowing something as disgusting as watery excrement.
And he could only grit his teeth and swallow it too.
"Director, you seem so thrilled you don’t know how to express it, eh?" Aoyama Xiu Xin said with an innocuous smile, appearing totally innocent.
But Renping Kuniaki could clearly sense the mockery and derision from the other side. His anger flared, but he had to forcefully conjure a smile and grandly praised, "Good! Great! I knew Police Chief Aoyama would never let me down, truly living up to the name of Heisei’s No.1 Detective, you bring honor to the police force!"
At this point, he could only bear with the nausea and acknowledge Aoyama Xiu Xin’s merits and capabilities, which at least earned him a reputation for having a keen eye for talent, since he was the one who handed over the case for Aoyama Xiu Xin to reinvestigate.
He also deserved credit for his skill in recognizing and using people.
Besides, he didn’t believe Aoyama Xiu Xin could solve every case in the future. If there was even one he couldn’t solve, then he should wait for the backlash from public opinion.
"It’s all thanks to the director’s supervision that Xiu Xin was able to solve this case," Aoyama Xiu Xin said humbly.
Renping Kuniaki really didn’t want to see this infuriating person linger any longer. He cheerfully said, "It’s getting late. Police Chief Aoyama, you have worked hard. Set the report down and go rest. Energize yourself for the press conference tomorrow morning."
"Yes!" Aoyama Xiu Xin placed the report on the desk, bowed, and then turned to leave.
And he politely closed the door behind him.
Renping Kuniaki’s face instantly darkened, he grabbed the case report, flipped through it to ensure there were no issues, then casually tossed it aside and kicked over a chair.
"Idiot!"
...
At 8 PM, Tokyo Detention Center.
Yamamoto was humming a tune in the shower, eyes closed, enjoying the water cascading down from overhead, completely unaware that the number of people in the bathroom was dwindling.
When he noticed the disappearance of background noise and sensed something was amiss, he opened his eyes to see five robust young men, bare-chested and with towels around their waists, staring at him with unfriendly eyes.
"Snap!"
The soap slipped from his hand and fell to the floor.
"Why aren’t you picking up the soap?" asked Yoshida Tomo, the leader, with a dangerous smile.
This morning, the people arranged in advance outside were finally all brought in, and along with Noda, who had just joined him two days ago, today was the day to kill Yamamoto and avenge the boss.
Yamamoto watched the five men warily and subconsciously stepped back, asking, "What do you want?"
He wasn’t quick to bend over to pick up the soap.
After all, that was a taboo in prison.
"Let me introduce myself, I’m Yoshida Tomo. The Yoshida you double-crossed and killed during a deal a while ago was my cousin." Yoshida Tomo’s expression was icy.
Upon hearing this, Yamamoto broke into a sweat, his eyes filled with sheer panic. He had never imagined that they would follow him to prison, which only highlighted the great danger he was in.
He forced down his fear and panic, pursed his lips, and tried to appear calm as he said, "That night was a misunderstanding, I didn’t mean to double-cross, nor did your brother intend to, it was the money during the deal—"
"Bang!" Yoshida Tomo rushed forward and punched him, knocking him to the ground, "I’m here for revenge, not to listen to your explanations, even if it was a misunderstanding, from the moment my brother died, it was no longer a misunderstanding!"
Yamamoto tried to get up, but Noda kicked him down, and then the other three took out sharpened toothbrushes and stabbed several holes into Yamamoto’s body.
Blood kept spilling out, covering the floor.
After killing Yamamoto, the five quickly left the scene.
Unsurprisingly, Yamamoto was dead, and there was no hiding that the five of them were the murderers.
That night, all five were detained.
Their fate would be prison transfer and increased sentences.
Aoyama Xiu Xin was naturally unaware of what was happening in this closed world of the prison; at the time, he was driving alone to visit Zhongshan Mie’s home.
"Ding-dong~ Ding-dong~"
He rang the doorbell at the gate of the villa.
"Moshi moshi?" A young voice came through the intercom, probably Takizawa Chiyu at home.
"I am Police Chief Aoyama Xiu Xin from the Police Headquarters Investigation Division 1, here to visit on official business. Please open the door."
"Hi! Police Chief Aoyama, please wait a moment."
Then the yard gate opened slowly, and as Aoyama Xiu Xin walked into the yard, he saw a beautiful woman in a black OL outfit with long straight black hair standing at the door waiting for him; her petite feet, clad in black stockings, touched the floor as she stood without slippers.
Envying the floor
"Hello, Chief Aoyama, I’ve heard much about you. I’m Takizawa Chiyu, currently a judge at the Tokyo Family Court," Takizawa Chiyu bowed deeply.
Aoyama Xiu Xin returned the greeting, "Judge Takizawa."
"Please come in." Takizawa Chiyu stepped aside.
Aoyama Xiu Xin removed his shoes before entering, a typical Japanese custom, somewhat impolite for those with foot odor.
He walked into the living room, which was decorated in a completely Japanese style, void of a sofa but furnished with a desk and cushions, making it appear somewhat spacious.
Wearing a kimono, Zhongshan Mie stood up and bowed slightly, saying, "Chief Aoyama, please have a seat."
"Hi!" Aoyama replied, and then he sat down.
After a while, the long-haired black Takizawa Chiyu came over with a tea set, knelt down beside them to make tea, her round buttocks in the pencil skirt gently placed on the heels of her stockinged feet, slightly indenting as they made contact.
"Chief Aoyama, your late-night visit brings what matter?" Zhongshan Mie asked outright.
Aoyama Xiu Xin glanced at Takizawa Chiyu.
Then he took a deep breath, and with a straightforward face, said to Zhongshan Mie, "Lady Zhongshan, Hashimoto Miho asked me to find a way to put you in prison."
"Ah!" Takizawa Chiyu, who was making tea, blanched in shock. Her hand trembled while pouring the water, and a few droplets splashed onto her chest.
Her inner white shirt soaked through, revealing a light green lace underneath, beautifully patterned.
She quickly bowed, "Apologies, how rude of me."
"Go change your clothes," Zhongshan Mie said calmly, watching her speak softly.
"Hi!" Takizawa Chiyu stood up, bowed to Aoyama Xiu Xin, and then hurriedly left.
Only then did Zhongshan Mie turn to Aoyama Xiu Xin.
"Please continue, Chief Aoyama."
