To His Hell and Back -
Chapter 243: Death Rolls-II
Chapter 243: Death Rolls-II
The sorcerer jumped down, his gray hair shook as the raindrops drenched him. He seemed quite happy, as if he had just had the best entertainment of the year from a theater. His expression showed a genuine delight as well as curiosity, like a person who truly wanted t know what would happen to the end of a tragic story- a story of a brother who have to kill his own sister now.
Cassius had to rush to grab that fucking sorcerer and make him cough the antidote but he couldn’t.
If he released Marissa now, who knows where she would go?
If she disappear into the forest- he couldn’t let that happen.
Cassius still wanted to believe the idea that he could save his sister. If he brings the antidote, if he administer it to her, and if she returns to her normal state, he could try to heal her wound. It’s a chance that was so low but Cassius would rather take that chance than having to end his sister’s life to put her out of her misery.
He knew.
He knew.
He knew he was being too hopeful. He knew he was only trying to prolong what has been set in stone. He couldn’t prevent or stop what had happened and despite him wishing otherwise, the truth was... his head had logically understood that the chance for his sister to survives was low.
"You see," the sorcerer sang, "That one, I mean your sister," he rolled his eyes, "She has been ordained to kill someone and she would keep moving until she kills that person. Not you of course, I wouldn’t be so evil as to make her try to kill you so thus why she hadn’t tried to kill you by stabbing your vitals."
Cassius’s bloodshot eyes turned fiercer. His jaw twitched, his eyes burning in anger that was even more searing than the palace of Hell.
"It’s Arabella who had been ordered for her to kill," the sorcerer then answered. "So this is your choice, Your Highness," he sang sarcastically. "Kill your sister or, kill your lover. Honestly if I am you, I would have killed my lover. To be frank, this wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t due to her right?"
Cassius’s hands were shaking from fury. He had to stop Marissa even more than ever now, knowing that his sister if released would go back to the castle to kill Arabella.
But the sorcerer seeing him struggle smiled wider and as if his words were laced and injected by poison of a snake itself, it continued to speak in a haunting tone, "Don’t get me wrong. You would still have to face sorcerers and fought against us but we wouldn’t have gone after your sister if not for the fact that you have taken our Princess. We wouldn’t have resorted into pulling this trick if it wasn’t for her... so I suppose she is to blame? I wouldn’t like to kill our princess, not when she is vital to us but if I were you, she would have been the first person I would get rid off."
"Shut your fucking mouth," Cassius cussed, his blood boiling and it didn’t help the fact that his power was once again against him as it refused to materialized.
Why now?
Why was this power given to him if it was so disobedient?
Anger reeled Cassius’s head as the sorcerer shrugged his shoulders, "Well that’s all I was here for. But this isn’t fun... seeing you have enough time makes you hesitate less."
Cassius frowned and suddenly Marissa yelled out in pain.
She couldn’t have felt pain now that she’s a remnant yet she was screaming so loudly that all the animals in the forest disperse from the startle. They disappeared from the place, too fearful to be in one forest with a creature who had cried out in such a painful ache.
Cassius snapped his eyes as he saw Marissa’s body that slowly fell to the ground, her body shook all over, as though suffering from a seizure.
"You have only two choice now. Go back and kill the princess and perhaps by some chance that your sister could be saved or kill your sister now."
Cassius raised his hand and the black liquid from his hand finally obeyed to his order turned into a sharp spear, shooting straight to the sorcerer.
With a heinous smile, the sorcerer dodged the spear.
"That was too predictab-" he couldn’t finish his words when he felt the spear he had already dodged earlier now pierce through his back, crafting a gaping hole on his stomach. His eyes was in disbelief as blood slowly seeped from its mouth, "Oh fuck."
Cassius waited for the sorcerer to collapse and he did.
Turns out though the sorcerer had spoken so proudly, it was still a new, perhaps just a small pawn of the sorcerer.
He pulled the sorcerer’s body, rummaging through his items to find that potion but no matter how much Cassius search there was nothing in the bastard’s body, only a syringe that had turned empty, possibly because he had used the content in Marissa’s body.
Ruffling his hair, Cassius couldn’t think of another way. Even if he managed to find the antidote, Marissa would still be left with such a wide wound against her neck and even as a pureblood vampire, she couldn’t survive that deadly wound.
Then what?
He should give up now?
Give up?
Cassius crushed the Sorcerer’s body, stomping on it over and over again even as the person’s head had turned into a bloody red mush. He didn’t stop, unravelling all his anger into this person who had caused for this nightmare to happen. He wouldn’t have stopped either if not for the small voice that spoke from Marissa’s body.
"B.. brother.."
Cassius’s red eyes shifted to his sister, the raw panic, surprise, and confusion all mix in his face was far too raw.
He rushed toward her, holding to her body that was still having its seizure. Marissa’s other eyes were affected by the potion, leaving only her right eyes still red and normal.
She stared at her brother, tears mixed with her eyes as she saw Cassius’s body covered with wounds and slashed that she knew she had caused.
She also knew that she couldn’t control her body any longer and now she’s nothing but a monster.
"Kill..."
Marissa’s tears dripped from her red eyes, her smile appeared despite the pain she was going through as she whispered, "Kill me."
