Chapter 830: Chapter 834: The Fourth Trial 7
From outside, the cave appeared pitch black, with nothing discernible.
But once inside, they found the light dim but not enough to hinder vision.
Su Tang and her companions walked along the corridor, and in no time, reached a small, sealed cave.
Seeing this, everyone’s heart sank slightly, knowing this was not the correct cave.
In the middle of the small cave, faintly floated a cluster of white light, exceptionally conspicuous against the dim environment.
Gaiyin quickly turned to Su Tang, "Activate the protective shield, and find a corner to stay in."
Su Tang nodded gravely and immediately squatted in a corner with Qiu Mo, ensuring they wouldn’t affect the others’ performance.
The protective shield’s durability had plummeted to 956 after the wear and tear of the third round of trials, which distressed Su Tang greatly.
This was a discontinued item that would not be produced again; once it was used up, that would be it.
Su Tang let out a light sigh.
The moment the protective shield enveloped the two of them, the white light in the center of the cave began to pulse, its intensity waxing and waning as two ferocious silhouettes emerged within.
"Clang—Splurch—"
Several sharp claws reached out from the white light, viciously striking into the ground of the cave.
With the dissipating white light, the true form of the two Long Tooth Beasts became visible to all.
Enlarged versions of Spider-shaped Insect Beasts, their eight spider legs were a purplish-black, faintly reflecting a cold light with reverse-hooked barbs densely covering them, looking enormously sinister.
The spider’s head was covered in eyes as big as fists, flickering with a ghastly light.
Undoubtedly, the most eye-catching part was the sharp fangs filling its mouth; if bitten, one would certainly become a sieve.
The two Long Tooth Beasts pounced toward Gaiyin and the others at a breakneck speed, their spider legs raised high, the sharp points glinting coldly, suggesting even a touch could be crippling, if not fatal.
Su Tang’s heart rose to her throat, her fists tightly clenched, palms sweaty and slick.
Fortunately, Gaiyin and his team were quick to react, leaping, jumping, and rolling in different directions, narrowly avoiding the Long Tooth Beasts’ attacks.
The two Long Tooth Beasts emitted "hiss, hiss" sounds, attacking different targets.
"Xi’en! Bind it!"
Upon hearing Gaiyin’s command, Xi’en nodded forcefully and shot two slender vines from his palms, tightly restricting the movements of the Long Tooth Beast.
Gaiyin, with a serious face, conjured a large knife in his hand and slashed fiercely at the spider leg about to strike, but restrained by Xi’en.
"Crack—"
A spider leg was severed, dark green mucus gushing from the wound, emitting waves of a foul odor.
"Hiss! Hiss!"
The Long Tooth Beast with the severed leg struggled and screamed incessantly.
Xi’en strained the vines, desperately shackling the beast, as if using all his strength, he yelled, "I... I can’t hold on much longer!"
"Crash—"
As soon as the words left his mouth, two of the vines binding the Long Tooth Beast’s spider legs snapped.
The beast struggled even more fiercely.
Wasting no time, Gaiyin lifted the large knife and aimed at the joints of the remaining spider legs, chopping them off with a few swift strikes.
Without its legs, the Long Tooth Beast lay in a pool of thick, dark green blood, gnashing its teeth in a continuous struggle.
Xi’en supported himself on his knees, panting heavily.
The other Long Tooth Beast, at that moment, seemed as if it had drunken itself silly, unable to walk straight in its daze.
