Chapter 110: Chapter 109. I’m Here

The next day, Beichuan Si and Master Yutian left together after washing up and having breakfast.

On the road, Master Yutian explained the detailed circumstances of the exorcism to Beichuan Si.

The victim of possession, or rather, the one troubled by a vengeful spirit, was named Hirasaka Hikari. He was the youngest son of the Hirasaka family and was much loved by his family members. After Hirasaka Hikari became possessed, the Hirasaka family quickly contacted Master Yutian in Tokyo, requesting his help.

According to the Hirasaka family, Hirasaka Hikari went missing for a while after going camping with friends. He was later found by his friends, and that’s when things gradually started to go wrong.

He was in a daze throughout the trip back home and eventually started to hide in the house, refusing to come out. Whenever he saw his family members, he would scream in terror—

"The man wearing a white hat... These are the words that Hirasaka Hikari shouted out." Master Yutian concluded, raising an eyebrow, "Who knows where those children went camping. If I’m not mistaken, Hirasaka Hikari probably experienced ’shinobu’, which led to his current state..."

"It must have been somewhere deep in the mountains, otherwise he wouldn’t have encountered those things," Master Yutian speculated.

"What does the mage plan to do?" Beichuan Si didn’t continue the topic but instead turned to ask.

"For a person plagued by evil spirits, we just need to drive the spirits out of his body," Master Yutian said with a smile. "I’ve brought enough tools this time, so it shouldn’t be a big problem."

Hearing this, Beichuan Si’s brow knitted slightly, but he simply replied, "Is that so."

It was quite clear that the other party had already set up a flag, so he had to stay cautious.

The two talked as they walked, and before long, they arrived at the Hirasaka’s house.

The Hirasaka’s house was large and built in a traditional Japanese style.

It was said that the Hirasaka family owned two companies, which explained why they could immediately send someone to Tokyo to find Master Yutian when trouble arose.

Beichuan Si and Master Yutian were received by the head of the Hirasaka family, Hirabashi Ichiro, and invited into the house.

He was a middle-aged man with a rosy complexion, exuding the aura of someone of high status.

However, the situation with Hirasaka Hikari had left him running ragged these past few days, so he did not look particularly well.

Upon seeing Master Yutian, his face lit up with excitement:

"Master Yutian, I’m sorry to trouble you this time."

Master Yutian intoned a Buddhist chant, "Mr. Hirasaka, there’s no need for such formality. We are old acquaintances after all. I shall do my utmost to help Hikari survive this ordeal."

"Then I shall rely on... Oh? Who is this?" Hirabashi Ichiro only then noticed the young man standing behind Master Yutian.

"This is Mr. Beichuan. I brought him to Ibaraki Prefecture at the request of an acquaintance."

"Hello, Mr. Beichuan," Hirabashi Ichiro reached out his hand.

"Hello," Beichuan Si replied expressionlessly, shaking his hand.

After the handshake, Hirabashi Ichiro turned back to Master Yutian, rubbing his hands together, "Master Yutian, do you think... should we go see Hikari first?"

Normally, they should have offered Master Yutian tea first according to etiquette, but Hirabashi Ichiro, consumed with worry for his son, dispensed with the formalities.

Master Yutian clearly noticed this as well. Making a Dharma Seal with his hand, he said, "Don’t worry, let’s resolve Young Master Hikari’s issue first, then we can catch up, Mr. Hirasaka."

"Then, please follow me this way, Master Yutian. We will make sure Mr. Beichuan is separately attended to—"

"My apologies, Mr. Hirasaka, but since Master Yutian, as an elder, hasn’t yet had tea, it’s only proper for me, as his junior, to wait outside. After Master Yutian completes the exorcism, I will join him," Beichuan Si stated, his face without expression.

He was actually worried that Master Yutian couldn’t handle the situation, as it seemed that the golden aura surrounding Master Yutian had already been heavily depleted during the last incident at Yutian Temple and had not yet been replenished.

He stood outside the door, which at least provided some backup.

"Let’s do it Mr. Beichuan’s way," Hirasaka Ichiro agreed without hesitation.

After all, Beichuan Si came with Master Yutian, and he couldn’t afford to offend them. Plus, since Beichuan Si was only waiting outside, and it wouldn’t affect the exorcism, Hirasaka Ichiro was naturally fine with it.

They treaded on the wooden floor and quickly entered the inner chamber.

As previously mentioned, Beichuan Si waited in the outer room while Master Yutian and Hirasaka Ichiro went directly into the inner chamber.

He took out Nishijou Kurenai, allowed her to get some fresh air, and then sat quietly on the tatami mat.

Beichuan Si wasn’t idle; he surveyed the rooms of the Hirasaka’s house, already considering what handy object he should grab to rush in and take care of the angry spirit if Master Yutian was unable to handle it.

After all, he couldn’t let Master Yutian see him using the death aura or Jian Ding; if the Hirasaka family had something that could be imbued with the death aura, that would be perfect.

Of course, if Master Yutian could handle it himself, there wouldn’t be much of a problem.

He glanced left and right and immediately spotted a vase about twenty centimeters tall on a shelving unit in the room.

Beichuan Si’s eyes lit up.

This thing wasn’t bad.

He stood up and walked over to the vase, gripped its neck, and weighed it in his hand.

Not bad, the weight was just right. With the death aura attached, he would send it crashing down—be it a beginner-medium or even a beginner-high-level spirit, Beichuan Si felt confident he could smash it dead with one blow.

Off to the side, Nishijou Kurenai was also a bit excited; she had somehow climbed to Beichuan Si’s shoulder, waiting for him to rush in so she could herself feed on the pure resentment.

Beichuan Si, holding the vase, sat back down and listened intently to the sounds from the inner chamber.

At the slightest sign of trouble, he was ready to charge in, vase in hand!

He was ready, and so was Nishijou Kurenai.

The mismatched pair were both cooking up their devious plans.

Another ten minutes or so passed.

Suddenly, a crazed and brutal hoarse male scream came from the room, followed by the terrified voice of Master Yutian.

Without a second word, Beichuan Si picked up the vase.

His eyes sparkled with determination, ready to hand over the spirit to Nishijou Kurenai for absorption.

"I’m coming! Where’s the angry spirit?" he kicked open the sliding door and stormed in, stepping on its frame.

Hirasaka Ichiro, already lying limply aside, twitched his mouth at the sight of him, seeming unable to speak.

No need for Mr. Hirasaka to tell him.

Beichuan Si’s eyes brightened.

Who else could that young man entwined by the angry spirit be if not Hirasaka Hikari?

Just the beginner-medium level spirit he needed!

This was what he had prepared for Nishijou Kurenai!

Beichuan Si, holding the vase, charged forward amidst the astonished expressions of the audience—

and brought the vase crashing down onto the crown of the angry spirit’s head.
