This Holy Knight is So Despicable! -
Chapter 35 - Thirty-Five: You Call This a Simple Chop?
Chapter 35: Chapter Thirty-Five: You Call This a Simple Chop?
As one of the five apprentice saints, Lette certainly knew Adros.
His mother came from a noble lineage, and his father was a high-ranking official in the Black robed Holy Hall. He himself was also very outstanding, with a performance that could be described as perfect.
Moreover, he was good at social interactions and had a diplomatic talent, becoming a frequent guest in many circles of the Holy Empire at a young age.
The nickname "Holy Light Young Master" was indeed quite fitting for him.
Everyone thought he would definitely join the Red Robed Holy Hall and shine brightly, or become the backbone of the White Robe Cathedral, using his charm and talents to promote the Holy Light.
But unexpectedly, he decided to go and train at the Black robed Holy Hall.
However, Lette seemed not at all surprised by this decision.
"That lad admires his father greatly, so going to the Black robed Holy Hall is probably to follow in his father’s footsteps."
Lette chatted casually with those around him as he walked, and hearing this, the little girls following them were suddenly enlightened.
Flander’s girlfriends apparently considered this Holy Light Young Master as their idol, and upon hearing that Lette and his group were going to meet him, they quickly gathered to plead for him to take them along.
Lette naturally did not mind, after all, in his view, it was just a normal meet-up, nothing special.
Taylor, however, hesitated to speak, as if he anticipated something but couldn’t say it outright.
The Judgement Court was not too far from the Pope Palace, and as they neared the place, Taylor grabbed Lette.
"Boss, how about I go ahead and inform them?"
"No need!"
Lette revealed his Holy Light Medal, "I have this, all clear. Even if three years have passed and the people in the Judgement Court don’t recognize me, they’ll at least recognize this thing, right?"
"Boss, you’re overthinking this. How could they not recognize you? Hey? Boss! Boss, slow down!"
Lette led the group straight toward the Judgement Court, and the soldiers on the tower spotted them early on.
It wasn’t that the soldiers had good eyesight; mainly, their group was too conspicuous.
Although the Judgement Court was located in the core of the Holy City, the surroundings were basically empty and deserted.
It wasn’t that they had delineated a restricted zone, but it was because of its infamous reputation that no one wanted to go near it, not even birds would fly over without detouring.
Their group, with Lette leading and many colorfully dressed, chattering girls, was way too conspicuous.
But what happened next was quite bizarre.
"Clang clang clang! Clang clang clang! Clang clang clang! Clang clang clang! Clang clang clang..."
The large bell on the tower of the Judgement Court was ringing furiously! The four guards at the gate, as if facing a formidable enemy, turned and ran into the courtyard, slamming the door shut with a bang, and activated the Array.
Inside the Judgement Court, dust was flying, and the yelling never stopped, just listening to it made one feel like it was chaos.
For the girls, it was the first time seeing such a scene. Emily couldn’t help but ask.
"What happened? Did a criminal break out again?"
Taylor sighed and spoke hauntingly, "No, a prison break is signaled by three bell strikes, a jailbreak by five rings, a major accident by seven rings, an urgent crisis by nine rings.
The highest alert is thirteen rings, only occurring when the Holy City faces a catastrophic disaster."
"Then... what does it mean to keep ringing?"
"The Holy Sin is approaching."
Suddenly, the girls’ gazes fell on Lette’s back.
Lette turned around and gave an awkward smile, "Ahem... um, if I said they were too happy and celebrating, would you believe me?"
Lilith patted his shoulder, "You might fool others, but don’t fool yourself."
"Perhaps they’ve discovered your true identity now!"
"Willing to doubt your own coating skills rather than doubting your own reputation? Let me tell you, when I first came to the Holy City, I visited the Judgement Court several times."
"I’ll peel off your layer now! Then drag you inside!"
"Come on! Come on!"
A sharp clang interrupted the two’s bickering. The crowd looked up at the Judgement Court to see that the bell had also stopped ringing.
"Ha! See! Didn’t it stop now? It wasn’t as mysterious as you said!"
"No, boss, I think they broke the bell."
"Taylor."
"Huh?"
"Come over here, I’ll give you a gift."
"Well... um, thank you very much, Your Highnesses, for showing us the gate of the Judgement Court!"
Flander’s girlfriends retreated while saying, "Um, we suddenly remembered we have things at home, so we won’t disturb Your Highnesses.
Flander, take care! We’ll, we’ll go now, goodbye, goodbye!"
The girls said this and quickly ran away, disappearing around the corner in no time.
Taylor looked on disdainfully, "These girls are terrible at lying. Something at home? Such an excuse wouldn’t even get them a leave slip at our Holy Knight Academy.
Clearly frightened and won’t admit it, wouldn’t you say so, boss?"
"Taylor."
"Huh?"
"Come over here, I’ll give you a gift."
Taylor scratched his head, "Boss, I think I just heard that! Is it an illusion?"
Lette rubbed his temples and led the remaining group to the entrance of the Judgement Court.
"Open the door, it’s me, Lette."
A panicked voice came from inside, "Lord Lette, today is the Judgement Court’s non-open day, please go back!"
"What nonsense! Open the door! I tell you, I have the Holy Light Medal! Do you not even listen to the Pope’s orders?"
"Your Highness, calm down! It’s just that someone of your esteemed status, we dare not receive privately. Black robed Archbishop Cadwen is on his way!
Please wait a bit! Please wait a bit!"
Flander couldn’t help but murmur, "The Archbishop’s status is second only to the Pope. Even if the Pope came personally, he wouldn’t need the Archbishop to come specifically to welcome him, right?
Is the Judgement Court stalling for time, trying to cover something up?"
Next to her, Lilith sneered, "No, they’re merely scared. If there’s any organization in the Holy City that fears this esteemed Holy Sin Turbid Light the most, it would undoubtedly be the Judgement Court.
Because of their negligence, Joanna was attacked. Compared to the reproach from the Holy Light Church, they fear facing Lette’s overwhelming anger more.
In my previous visits to gather intelligence, the people of the Judgement Court all looked like they had lost the will to live.
They’re calling in the Black robed Archbishop probably hoping he could stop Lette enough so they won’t die as miserably."
Lette’s voice suddenly turned cold, "Open the door, or don’t bother opening it at all."
"Your Highness, please wait! The Archbishop, he..."
Lette took two steps back, extended his hand to summon the Holy Sword Sin Light. Then he lifted his other hand, performing the Holy Healing Technique·Revised on himself, greatly enhancing his physical body.
He raised the Holy Sword and fiercely struck at the Judgement Court’s door!
Amid the sound of cracking, the door and the Defense Magic Array were cut down simultaneously, leaving a deep trench on the stone road behind the door!
Such a mighty strike stunned everyone, with Emily even exclaiming.
"You! Didn’t you say that to wield the power of the Holy Sword, you have to say some fancy words and strike a pose?"
"This isn’t the Holy Sword’s power, it’s my power. Even if Sin Light is slacking off, it’s at least a regular Holy Artifact that cuts through iron like mud.
If the skill doesn’t work, regular slashing is still fine."
Looking at the one-meter-thick magical alloy iron door and the gradually collapsing multi-layer Defense Magic Array, Emily and Flander stared at Lette as if looking at a monster.
"You call that a regular slash?"
