Chapter 84: The Start Of A Legend (4)
The smoke remained for a while.
However, when all of these subsided, it was revealed that only a small portion was chipped away.
"This is hopeless." One sentinel sighed in the middle of the silence that followed after the smoke disappeared.
It was as if they were doused by cold water.
They might have the numbers but they can only do so much. This is true for the three-star warriors. They can only cause minimal damage to the golem much to their dismay. The level of their cores is the reflection of the destructive force of their elemental power.
Only Legland can inflict significant damage among the present warriors. This Stone Golem has a lot of advantages against them!
Aside from its towering height that surpasses most trees in this forest and tough boulder-like body, this golem appears to be smart from the way it counterattacks, giving them too much of a hard time dealing with it.
The eyes of moon elves and orcs shook.
"Just how did our moon elf lord and that lightning power warrior manage to handle this monster before we came?" Rolan asked with a grunt.
He was currently being attended by a temple priest since he broke three of his ribs. The fire-power sentinel was unfortunate enough to get caught in the destructive attack of the Golem earlier.
"That only shows how powerful our lord and that young male are. And we will be fine once our lord comes!"
Koniel said while he was busy treating other warriors. There are a lot of injured, both sentinels and warriors. But it is fortunate enough that there are no fatalities so far. ’Oh, Moon Goddess! Please help us get past this!’ Nicol’s assistant priest can only pray silently while both of his hands are busy.
The atmosphere was no longer enthusiastic as before.
It was at this moment that a figure came flashing. It was a certain someone who is coated with dancing strips of purple lightning.
"Xagrien!" Sylis exclaimed once he distinguished the identity of this warrior.
All of Xagrien’s friends felt that a weight was lifted from their shoulders.
The lightning power warrior zoomed past his friends and whispered to them.
"Don’t worry, we will be complete once again."
Kalux, who seldom showed his emotions, has a crack in his expression. His smooth forehead wrinkled in confusion.
"What do you mean?" Sylis asked but Xagrien was already distant from him.
"Kalux! I need earth pillars please!" Xagrien shouted.
Kalux sighed, "You should have told me right away." And he rode the waves of the earth to catch up.
The two cooperated tacitly and Kalux erected a pillar right where Xagrien was standing. It then followed by another one then two, until it was near the location of the golem. "Now finish it, Xagrien!" Kalux’s whisper was carried by the night breeze.
"I will!" Xagrien intended to use those pillars as a foothold to hop towards the enormous stone golem.
"Arghhhhhh!" Xagrien yelled as his entire body was totally covered with hot and violent lightning. His silver hair stood to its ends, each strand having a faint hue of purple at its tips. Even his eyes are emitting thin strips of lightning. The male moon elf was preparing to utilize all of his remaining energy for this one big move.
"Immediately back Xagrien up!" Legland yelled the soonest he read the intention of this young warrior. Xagrien meant to deal with the final and decisive attack to end the Golem.
And he knew that this should be their last opportunity to pin down the Golem.
Legland doesn’t care about the fatigue. "Focus your attacks on this Golem’s knees and let’s bring him down!"
The head sentinel blasted his way towards the left knee. Other moon elves who still have an ounce of energy, steeled themselves up and fired their elemental powers.
"Bring that golem down!"
"Give it your all, warriors!"
"Don’t stop even if you collapse, damn it!"
"Go throw more trees at it!" Even the orcs who are in their semi-beast form, uprooted the dead trees and threw them directly at the Golem.
Legland incessantly slashed the knees until it kneeled in one knee. Then the other knee gave away after the concentrated and all-out attacks from the warriors.
"Yes! We did it!" They cheered once again. Their expression looked as if they finally regained their confidence.
On the other hand, Xagrien was ready to pounce. "Thank you," he silently whispered as he looked directly at the left waist of the Golem.
’I will finish it once and for all! And I will bring you back, Nereen!’ Xagrien gritted his teeth.
Armed with his conviction to help his moon elf lord and his friends, he jumped towards the mountain-like Golem in front of him.
His entire body became a spear of lightning that zigzagged from pillar to pillar until he reached the golem’s left waist.
The discharge of energy was so fierce that it burned Xagrien’s animal skin armor. Revealing the muscled yet bruised upper torso of the male. It was a terrible mix of black and blue and it was a wonder that Xagrien could still move.
Boom!
"Kiiiieeeeekk!" The golem shrieked as if it felt pain.
Xagrien’s elemental power and the tough stone armor collided and it made a thunderous sound.
He landed a heavy punch that caused an explosion that was much more powerful than Legland’s attack earlier.
The stones that protected the Golem broke and it fell one after another. His fist impaled through the same part where Luis’ blade was stuck earlier.
A huge chunk of the golem splattered after the impact. Stones, the stringed transmitter stone, and the blood of the root crawlers, all of this disappeared in that certain part and it revealed the white and black sphere that contains Nereen’s consciousness.
Xagrien reached out to get it with a little difficulty since his strength was almost emptied by that great move.
Just a few more inches and he will finally touch the sphere when the yellow-brown crystal string that was once a transmitter stone weaved together to protect the sphere.
"Damn it!" Xagrien repeatedly and frustratedly punched it but to no avail. His thoughts are mainly dominated by the moon elf lord’s face and his worries about the consequences that may happen once Luis was left to deal with it.
’I couldn’t bear to see him writhing in pain once again!’
How much more if the moon elf lord dies? That will drive him to madness.
Xagrien knew that in his heart that if he ever lost his bearer then he would lose a big part of him. His knuckles were already bleeding from all the reckless punching.
He threw continuous punches without caring about his environment. It was for this reason that he failed to see the approaching crushing palm of the golem that could potentially crush him soon.
"No! Xagrien! Watch out!" His friends worriedly yelled. They all ran towards the golem without caring much for their own safety.
"You need to move away, Xagrien!" Legland also yelled and he blasted his way up, trying to reach for the young warrior who was not that far from meeting his doom.
At the height of emotions and desperation, no one seemed to notice the hair-raising changes that appeared in the night sky.
The originally waning moon became complete once again.
