’Did that bastard blast a huge underground water system? Is he planning on flooding the entire forest?’ That is the thoughts running inside Luis head as he feels the tremors on the ground.

He has a strong inclination to kill an asshole right now!

Luis looked down at the intricate magic circle that sucked Nereen and he pressed the desire to destroy it. He knows nothing about how this thing works so he isn’t sure if once he destroyed it, then Nereen will be saved.

’What if destroying this equates to his demise?’ The moon elf lord can only grit his teeth. ’Magic! He needs to study magic after this!’

"We need to go back to the surface now." Luis declared. His two subordinates nodded even though their chests were booming due to nervousness.

Olyn subconsciously hugged the sleeping moon elf child in his arms. The things that he saw today literally turned his world upside down so he tried to seek comfort from the poor child.

"My lord! The child is breathing weakly now!" Olyn almost jumped up after he found it out.

"Let me see," Luis reached to check the child’s pulse then he scanned his body with his Cosmic Sense. The child is showing signs of physical and mental fatigue but thankfully, the core and plate are not harmed at all. Or else it will be dangerous given the time and situation.

"Revitalize," the moon elf lord didn’t think twice to activate his skill.

Luis hurriedly collects his weapons, especially the twin short sword. They are about to fly up when he suddenly realized something very important. His future baby daddy!

"Wait, where’s Xagrien-," Luis doesn’t need to finish that when a strong hand holds his waist and someone swiftly princess-carry him.

"Xagrien!" Rion, Olyn and Luis are shocked by this sudden move. Rion was surprised due to the intimate action. Olyn was caught off guard due to the ’disrespectful’ action of the male, he didn’t manage to yell or anything due to shock.

Luis, on the other hand, has the utter gall to feel romantic excitement in this situation! The anger and worry that he had earlier lessened to a few levels. Xagrien and his effects on Luis.

"Dad-," The moon elf lord’s instinct was to flirt; however, he stopped midway due to the grave expression on Xagrien’s face. "What happened?"

Xagrien just shook his head and said in a very serious tone, "Later."

The male didn’t think twice to jump up and run his way up the hole. His movements are hasty.

Thankfully, Luis quickly maneuvered nature’s energy around them and he flew Olyn and the child up. Upon seeing the powerful move of Xagrien, Rion felt a sense of competition and utilized his wind powers to propel his body back to the surface.

It was a close call since right after they took off, a black, red with faint yellow substance came flooding inside the underground place where they are in. The magic circle is submerged in no time but the shining outline is still visible despite the thick and black disgusting substance. It was moving in a circular motion as if it was being stirred.

"This is straight up from hell," Luis uttered while looking over Xagrien’s shoulder, giving him the chance to smell the natural scent of the male god. His eyes turned smaller in appreciation of the pleasant smell of his future hubby.

’Xagrien’s scent is musky. It even overpowered the bloody stench of this weird substance-’

The moon elf lord’s wandering thoughts are immediately collected upon realizing something.

"Fuck, I have a very terrible idea." Luis subconsciously uttered to Xagrien’s ears. He failed to notice that since he is deep in his thoughts.

If this is indeed blood, then Luis can only think of a few specific places where bloodshed and death are currently happening.

"No matter how terrible the situation gets, I will protect you," the male answered Luis much to his surprise. Xagrien’s eyes reflect determination- and worry?

"What?" Luis is confused by the weird behavior of the male. Did that bastard Lord Isami say anything to Xagrien? He’s been acting this way since he came back.

"You can use me in any way that you want, just make sure that you will be safe," Xagrien replied solemnly as if he was putting his own life at stake. His thoughts lingered at the statement that Lord Isami said.

His eyes flashed a cold light. He will never let that happen.

Luis, on the other hand, is a thirsty virgin whose getting laid is his top priority. These ambiguous words completely steered Luis from the original intention of Xagrien.

’Did Xagrien realize that I am a pervert and he found out that aside from his heart, I am also after his body?’ That thought immediately sent delicious shivers through Luis’ body. However...

’This is not the time to flirt, Xagrien! Oh my goodness!’

And so their first miscommunication happened.

All five of them made it outside.

The sun has already set and the forest is almost shrouded in darkness. Only the millions of stars and the waning gibbous moon served as the source of light.

Thanks to Xagrien for destroying this portion of the forest earlier, the moonlight can easily illuminate their place.

Therefore all of them can see what is happening under the pit.

It is still stably swirling as if it is still waiting for more blood to come. But no one knows how long it will stay like this. His instinct is on level five alert just looking at this goo.

Luis freed himself from Xagrien’s arms. He is certain that if he remains, he will be distracted!

While looking at the accumulating black substance, Luis immediately contacted Legland through telepathy and a yelling voice immediately greeted him.

[My lord! I don’t know if this is a good thing or not but the root crawlers... all of them are gone!] Legland explained excitedly but Luis is quite sure that there’s no joy in it.

Worry and disbelief. They must have saw something that flipped their worldview for the strong and collected Legland to act like that.
