There's Something Wrong With You, My Lord!
Chapter 76: Testing the Limits! (8)

Chapter 76: Testing the Limits! (8)

After those words were said, a creature flew from the shadows. It was a bird with dirty and messy feathers.

It was an owl with two identical scars on both of its black eyes.

"An ugly owl just talked!" Olyn blurted out behind Luis.

The three moon elves are in for another shock after seeing someone bleed with mud because they have never encountered an animal or mystic beasts that could talk intelligently like them.

Two of them entirely spent their life within the Amber Forest while Xagrien only managed to roam a part of Immortal’s Glade throughout his young life.

This time, aside from the complicated feelings of seeing a supposedly deceased friend alive, Xagrien felt danger and he raised his vigilance.

Intelligent beings are afraid of anything that is unknown to them, Luis knows it best.

[Gather yourself together since this could possibly be a dangerous encounter. Save your shock for later, do you understand that?] Luis seriously warned the three.

[Yes, my lord!] Olyn and Rion answered.

While Luis’ eyes met with Xagrien’s. The male timidly nodded.

The moon elf lord’s eyes tightened into slits and he looked at the flying owl directly.

Standing in front of this so-called "Lord Isami Kolioda", Luis felt a strong repulsion for this bird.

"Lord Creator? What kind of mental illness do you have? Not that I care because all I wanted to say is that," He paused for a while and said dangerously, "You shouldn’t mess with any of my people."

Nereen or the child moon elf inside that body and even the clans that are currently fighting for their life. Luis was speaking for their sake.

The moment this ugly bird introduced himself. He knew that he came face to face with the asshole that he wanted to kill.

"So tell me, while I still have the patience, what the hell is going on here." Luis seemingly asked a calm question.

But deep inside his heart and mind have storms rampaging around. This is the first time in a long while that he felt such strong loathing towards someone.

"Oh, you’re not going to charge and kill me just like your two subordinates?" The male voice that came from the owl mockingly said.

"Will there be any merit if I do it?"

Kill this ugly owl?

Yes, Luis can easily kill this single bird. However, a man who can scheme for centuries wouldn’t walk carelessly into the enemy’s territory without any assurance that he can leave unscathed.

"This image that you have now is nothing but a decoy right?"

Luis also thought that it is worth it to at least observe the behavior of his possible archnemesis in the future. He would love to grasp the personality of the man behind this ugly owl.

A maniacal laugh thundered.

"That’s right, nothing will change even if I die at this moment. I can swear that in my title as the Lord Creator." The owl’s body glowed after uttering that oath.

"Oh well, it seems that I cannot provoke you at all." Lord Isami sounded as if he lost an expensive bet.

"I was just bored since your reactions are too dull even after you saw your dead comrade alive. I am kind of expecting that one of you will step up to protect his deceased friend and initiate a fight among your group." The man sighed. "What an utter disappointment."

Olyn and Rion heard this and they simply couldn’t believe it. They look at both the moon elf lord and Xagrien’s expression and they know that it is the truth.

How is that even possible? That defies the laws of nature!

’You overestimate the moon elves,’ Luis whispered deep inside. His subordinates and even Xagrien are caught off guard by this weird turn of events. They have little to no encounter with magic.

"Well, it’s my pleasure to be your disappointment,"

Luis stole a peek at the stiff body of Nereen and the mud is still slowly flowing from his cut hand.

He is not sure if this is good or bad. Right now, his focus was to rescue the child that is stuck inside that body. It was ruthlessly used as a damn power supply. Luis’ priority is the child. Which among the two is Nereen? He doesn’t care about that anymore.

Luis tried to talk with the child with telepathy but it failed, once again.

"It appears that you’ve taken a liking to my rejected goods?" Lord Isami provocatively said after noticing that Luis’ eyes landed on Nereen. "You may have called him Nereen. But I call him First, the oldest and the most outdated tool in my arsenal."

Right after that statement was said, Luis saw a change in Nereen’s brown eyes. A flicker of emotion was seen in its original still gaze.

Luis had been trying to connect with him telepathically multiple times and this time, he was successful.

However before he could even talk to the child, Luis was silenced with a flash of a scene that appeared in his head.

The place was inside a bright laboratory that has a Victorian-style interior. Glass flasks and other delicate laboratory instruments are set carelessly around the table but the atmosphere seemed to be comforting and serene.

The image darkened for a while as if the owner of this point of view blinked. It opened again and this time it was looking down at its own body.

It isn’t the body of the child moon elf but instead, it was a miniature body that is made of brown clay.

It was so tiny that it could even fit in Luis’ palm.

’This should be the memory of the other being that resides in Nereen’s body.’ Luis thought.

The point of view was raised and from there he saw a young man whose entire head was blurred that he cannot make out what the other’s race was.

"Yes! I finally did it! I finally made a golem that has consciousness!" The young man said excitedly, it was pure happiness. "First! I will name you First since you are my first success! With this name, it will always remind me of my first milestone! You will always be the most special to me!"

Luis only saw the memory for a short time, but he could feel all the feelings of the memory’s owner. The happiness, affection, and undying loyalty that sprung from that simple given name. The moon elf lord felt them raw that he even felt influenced by it somehow.

He can almost see the damned Lord Isami’s words crushing everything that Nereen cherished. It was as if he was being ripped from inside out or stabbed multiple times.

’Fuck.’ Luis inwardly cursed as he felt a sting in his eyes.

"Lord Isami..." Nereen/First uttered in a rugged voice. It was then that Luis was cut from the memory and he came back to the present.

Nereen’s state hadn’t changed; he was still trapped in the confines of the earth pillars made by Olyn. What changed was his two eyes. One was brown and the other was silver.

But even with this stark difference between the two, there is one thing that is common: both eyes were full of pain.

Fat drops of tears are cascading in Nereen’s eyes.

[Moon elf lord!] A child’s voice cried through the telepathic connection that he forgot to retract. It isn’t the adult voice that Luis heard before. It was a real child. He sniffed for a couple of times, [First is- no, Nereen is a good person! He was being used by that man in that big house!]

[I understand.] Luis collected himself. Anger and sadness danced in his chest. [What is your name, child?]

[Nereen.] The child panicked to explain. [You see, moon elf lord. I am Nereen but for some reason Nereen no, First certainly did it because of my-]

[Don’t worry. I get what you’re trying to say.]

"He was now useless so I thought-," Lord Isami apathetically declared from the other side but Luis ruthlessly interjected it.

"I am sick of listening to this guy’s bullshit. The Xagrien, fry that bird’s ass for me." Luis’ eyes had a sharp and cold glint.
