There's Something Wrong With You, My Lord!
Chapter 225: Metal Clan’s Steel

Chapter 225: Metal Clan’s Steel

"You are really pregnant, My Lord? And there are two confirmed babies?" Old Man Feren’s loud voice caused the plates and the wooden cups to vibrate. His scruffy face, which is covered with a thick beard, was flashing with obvious disbelief as if someone told him that the sky had broken into two.

They are presently having a meal with all the patriarchs and elders of the Metal Clan. But since Luis likes to keep their lunch casual, he initiated some pep talks to catch up with the others since it’s been a while since he met these folks. That is the gateway that opened the topic of his pregnancy, and he didn’t expect that the man who shouldn’t be surprised about the news was the man who exaggeratedly raised his voice to a few octaves.

Luis can’t understand why the older man acted like it was his first time to hear about his pregnancy because, in the first place, Feren was still in the Woodrill Plains when the unverified news of his pregnancy circulated.

"Don’t tell me he didn’t really believe that news? While that is still a rumor during that time, it should be more than believable to Feren because he is one of the few people who must have an idea how intimate I was to Xagrien," Luis thought as he stared at Feren with his lips are pouting.

"Don’t look at me like that, my Lord. I trust you unconditionally, My Lord. And I even believe you now that you said you have two growing babies inside you. It’s just that..." Old Man Feren paused and turned to look at the ever-silent Xagrien with his lips pouting.

"How can I say that I didn’t believe it back then because his mate looks like a possessive bastard who would lie about everything just to make sure that no males would ever swarm around his bearer?" Feren thought, exposing his dilemma.

Luis was intrigued about the sudden silence of the quirky elder, so he abruptly pressed on, "What do you mean with it’s just that?"

Old Feren was caught off guard by Luis’ straightforwardness that it made him thoughtlessly blurt out his deepest thoughts.

"I didn’t believe the first time I heard this because I got a feeling that it was just a ruse devised by Xagrien to shoo away all your potential mate candidates! Ah! What the—" Feren covered his mouth upon realizing that he had made a blunder, but that only lasted for a split second as the old man shrugged it off by saying. "Oh, fine. I said it. It’s no use to mull over it."

Luis would take off his hat for this unbelievable half moon elf-half dwarf.

The folks of the Metal Clan are wearing an exasperated expression. They can only pray to the Moon Goddess about Old Master Feren’s mouth to grow a stopper.

On the other hand, Legland could only utter a helpless "Master..." while rubbing the side of his forehead. Thankfully, everyone who came with Luis is not judgemental, or they will give the Metal Clans a bad name in his head. Baku is as innocent as he is, Sibal has the tact of a gentleman, and Denzel is a military man through and through. He is not the type who would thoughtlessly open his mouth to speak of things he isn’t supposed to say. The last concern is Xerxes, but he is a man who does not meddle with the affairs of the moon elves. He is a devoted guardian and teacher to Xagrien, and that’s it.

"Well, I can’t deny that you accurately pointed out my intention of making it known the earliest time," Xagrien suddenly said. His entire expression reveals that he is more than serious about all his words. "But when I said that my bearer was pregnant, I am absolutely certain that he is bearing my seed inside him. I know it in my heart and my gut."

Luis can’t explain why, but as of now, Xagrien is the most attractive. Maybe it’s his blind faith that he found it sexy? The pregnant lord doesn’t know. Whatever it is, he just wants to touch the man, so he does it— under the table.

Xagrien flinched when he felt someone touching his thighs. He is supposedly meant to punch the courageous one by reflex, but upon realizing the familiar warmth of his bearer and the slight naughty arch on Luis’ lips, he finally left the hand alone to roam.

"You confirmed the Moon Elf Lord’s pregnancy using your gut feeling? Is that even possible?" asked the male moon elf who bitterly never experienced being a father.

"It’s in his blood, Master Feren," Luis concluded the topic with meaningful words.

Feren spent about two seconds pondering a bit and nodded, signaling that he remembered the talk they had previously had in the woods. Feren is the only person, except Luis and Xerxes, who is aware of Xagrien being a half-blood moon elf. And even now, they still vow to keep it a secret.

And so Old Man Feren veered off from that topic and instead asked how they discovered that there are two children. Luis and Xagrien joined forces to recount their experiences enthusiastically. Everyone who could see the Moon Elf Lord agrees that the picture of their leader is that of total happiness, and the Metal Clans are touched by it greatly.

"We will support your pregnancy, My Lord," Logan and the other four patriarchs of the Metal Clans said in chorus. Their voice is loud and clear and impossible to mishear.

"Well, thanks in advance," Luis responded after a while. It was accurate to say that those simple and genuine words touched his heart. The moisture on the side of his eyes was accumulating very slowly, which was fortunate because he did not want to dampen the jovial atmosphere.

The lunch ended a little late due to the enjoyment of all parties. But that in itself is not without merits. Luis had gathered much information about the Metal Clans between their conversation and meals to support the Metal Clans the way he received such warm-hearted support.

And his focus? What else fuels life aside from food and water?

That is why he instructed Sibal to run an errand in his name while they checked the steel jointly produced by the Metal Clan and some representative from the Riz Clan.

Luis, Xagrien, Legland, Xerxes, and the folks from the Metal Clans are riding at the back of gigantic Baku as they make their way to one of the fabled red mountains in Redhill Territory, where the smithy allotted to create steel was created.

Seeing the tower crimson mountains was a novel experience for Luis, and he immensely enjoyed it. However, there is one who doesn’t seem to be as thrilled as he is.

"Baku, hang on for a while. It won’t be long before we will come back to the Metal Clan’s woodlands," Luis tried to pacify the massive Bakunawa like a child. Now that this big boy’s slowly developing intelligence, he has the emotional quotient of a three-year-old kid, which he found really endearing and, at the same time, challenging because of occasional tantrums just like the present.

Baku is making weird hissing sounds using his entire body. And sometimes, he would flick a protruding stone with his tail.

"My Lord, I think the great Baku doesn’t like us being here," Logan worriedly whispered to Luis. We are willing to walk our way to the smithy. Don’t worry about us. We are used to walking in between these steep mountains."

"Worry not, Logan. Baku’s concern is not you or anyone. It’s the soil. Baku is made from trees, so in a sense, he could sense what soil is good for him and what is bad. It was his first time encountering soil with a high metal concentration."

"All of these iron. I suppose?" Luis guessed as he looked directly into the red soil that they were passing by. "A lot of plants cannot survive on earth that contains a lot of iron deposits. Even if some managed to sprout, they will most likely stunt their growth, or their green leaves will become bronze colored."

"Only a few plants could thrive in such a harsh environment," Luis turned to face Logan. "That is your main concern, right? Don’t worry. This Moon Elf Lord will help you out."

Logan and the other patriarch are more or less surprised about the Moon Elf Lord’s confident declaration, but none of them question Luis’ claim. Instead, they silently placed their trust in Luis.

The smithy built for steel production was located at the foot of the mountain. Even from afar, he could see the heaps of steel plates and bars crafted by the reliable Metal Clans.

Luis finds it hard to believe that after more than a week, they managed to create steel and produce many of them. But they managed to do it for real!

’You guys are the best!" Luis cried in joy. He was happily laughing as he held a piece of steel plate.

"The luster was great, and the weight is heavier than the one I remembered," Luis murmured as he checked the product. "As for durability..."

"Xagrien!" Luis called his handsome and hunky mate, "Punch using your pure strength while I am holding this steel plate, please."

"Alright, but make sure to protect your hand with nature’s energy," Xagrien said, which Luis soundlessly followed.

Bang!

The ear-splitting sound of colliding metal disturbed the silence of their surroundings.

It was a heavy blow, even for a purely physical punch. In a simple iron plate, that force is enough to crumple it like a piece of paper.

"There’s only a little dent!" Luis excitedly looked at the steel plate and then at Xagrien. That must have hurt his beloved hottie, so he asked, "Are you okay?"

"Just pain," Xagrien showed his red and swollen knuckles.

The Moon Elf Lord did not waste any time and pulled the man towards him and activated his Healer’s Touch. A faint green light kissed Xagrien’s injury, and the inflammation showed signs of subsiding. Only then did Luis breathe a sigh of relief.

He faced Logan and the other patriarchs, giving them two thumbs up.

"You outdid my expectations for you, Metal Clans! You created an extremely durable steel!"

Logan and the other patriachs look as thrilled as the Moon Elf Lord. They bowed their heads while saying their thanks. But after a while, their smiles looked a little awkward.

Luis sensed they wanted to say something to him, so he motioned his hand to let them speak.

"That... My Lord. The Metal Clan could promise to produce this steel that is enough for your needs to build the infrastructure needed. However, after that, I think we cannot continue casting steels."
