Chapter 223: Welcome to the Redhill Peaks, My Lord! (2)

The metal clans of Redhill territory felt like their asses are on fire. They simply cannot settle in one place, and at any second, several of them are seen walking around, fidgeting. One would think they are anxious based on their body language, but if they look at the faces of these moon elves, something is sticking out like a nail’s head. The corners of their lips are twitching and forming a faint arch. They are gleeful and excited.

These reactions may account for overacting, but it is considered nothing compared to the innocently exaggerated ones.

"Is everything prepared now? N-Nothing forgotten? Is everyone’s clothes presentable? We can’t afford to neglect a single detail here now! Our Moon Elf Lord is coming to our territory!" cried an old man with a burly body and ashen hair. He is standing tall in the crowd and has an intimidating aura about him because his face is covered with a scruffy beard. His name is Lacques, the former clan patriarch of the Feran clan.

This older man is respected for being one of the strongest fighters of his generation, and aside from that, his chill and level-headed temperament earned him recognition within the united metal clans. However, the man’s present state was far from what he was known of. Nerves overrode Lacques, and it seemed like he was in too deep. "Ready the gongs! Ring them once our Moon Elf Lord appeared out of the Transportation Circle, understood? We must make him feel honored to be the guests of our Redhill Peaks!"

Logan, the present patriarch of the Feran Clan, awkwardly approached him, "Father, let’s stop for a moment and calm down. Everything is already well and good. There is no need to stress yourself."

"You’re acting out of your character for the Moon Goddess’ sake!" those words are at the tip of his tongue. However, his respect for this formerly valiant warrior stopped him from doing so at the last minute.

Lacques crossed his arms and breathed successive deep breaths. "I am not stressing myself. All I wanted was to make sure that everything was perfect because technically, our territory is the third place that our Moon Elf Lord has ever visited! We must make it special and, at the same time, better than the ones he experienced from the Hyon Clan and the former settlement of the Lune Clan."

Logan was mummed by his father’s reasonable excuse. So, in the end, he ultimately covered silence himself.

"No need to go over the top, Lacques. The Moon Elf Lord is the type who appreciates genuine feelings more than fancy things." a haughty voice suddenly sounded behind them.

"Master Feren!" the two of them called the name of the man who suddenly appeared like magic. He is accompanied by a golden-furred husky that seems to reflect the fine rays of the sunlight.

"How are you, Master Nero?" Logan respectfully called the dog. Nero is someone who came to be thanks to the powers of the Moon Elf Lord and a being sent by the Moon Goddess. That is why it is fitting that they treat him at the level of a four-star warrior.

"I am now adequately rested. Thanks for all of your consideration." Nero spoke as his tails leisurely moved from left to right. "Master Feren is right, by the way. The Moon Elf Lord is sentimental, so staying real when interacting with him is best.

"Oh, as expected of someone close to the Moon Elf Lord! Thanks for saying that, Master Nero," Lacques nodded.

On the other side, Feren looked as if he just swallowed a whole lemon, "It was I who said that first. Why did you thank him instead of me? Don’t tell me you don’t trust me?"

Everyone turned silent. That is enough to answer Master Feren’s question.

"O-of course, we believe you! You are our clan’s most trusted guardian. There’s no way that we will doubt your words," Logan answered stutteringly after a while.

"I don’t think you answering it late is believable," Feren murmured lowly.

Playful giggles popped up in all directions.

One nervous moon elf who found calm in their warm yet laugh-inducing exchange joked, "We love and respect you, Master Feren. You are our treasured elder."

Feren deadpanned, evidently unimpressed, "Oh, is that why you are excited to bury me like a prized treasure?"

"My, I didn’t say that, Master Feren! You don’t have to act self-deprecating...Hahaha!"

"Again, the laugh doesn’t make your words believable!"

This time, the crowd of metal-power moon elves and some representatives of the fire clans who joined them in researching the steel burst out laughing. Even Nero chortled.

At the same time, when everyone’s nerves and emotions had simmered down, the bluish-white light suddenly erupted in the direction of the Transportation Circle.

"The Moon Elf Lord is finally here!" Master Feren loudly informed everyone. The ones responsible for banging the gong assumed their stance seriously like warriors ready to strike.

Frankly, their hearts started beating fast even before they banged the gong. In their heads, they are screaming: The Moon Elf Lord is here!

The light intensified, and the audience felt an overwhelming fusion of emotions in their chest. Excitement, happiness, and awe. All these three combined to create moistness in their eyes slowly.

As the magical light reached its penultimate glow, they started seeing the bodily outlines of the group.

"Oh, Moon Goddess, our Moon Elf Lord’s presence is simply otherworldly!" someone from the crowd gasped loudly.

They are seeing the activation of the Transportation Circle for the first time. That is why this visual feat is like a miracle from heaven for them, the moon elves who need to be adequately knowledgeable about magic. Add to that the Moon Elf Lord was using it for the first time. Things will inevitably turn into something dramatic.

Fortunately, Luis is oblivious to how his subjects in the Redhill Peaks see him as out of this world, or else, he would have choked on his saliva before he could even birth his peanuts.

On the other hand, Luis is currently feeling the nausea he was warned about, which was unbearably terrible. Everything that he could see was just the blueish-white light. "Xagrien, holy crap. I think I can’t control my balance."

And right after he said that he felt himself falling forward. Luis’ eyes widened in panic. "No, the babies!"

The man beside him was also slightly disoriented because of the foreign experience that the long-distance teleportation brought them. In his ears, his beloved bearer’s voice sounded very far from him. It may be his instinct or intuition pulling him, but Xagrien stretched his arms in time to catch Luis in his arms.

And Xagrien and his draconic sense succeeded, but since he was a beat late, the hunky and ever-reliable future daddy fell forward too. His protective instinct made his body move so that he would be the one who would fall to the ground.

All Luis could feel was the mixture of soft and hard flesh, acting like a cushion for his fall. He doesn’t need sight to know who it is because, with just the natural scent that he sniffed, he could recognize his savior.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Xagrien... Daddy..." Luis uttered at the same time the gongs sounded. The clangor pierced his hearing, but it was not enough to overpower the strong beating of his heart. Or maybe it was both of their hearts that were making a fuss.

"Oh, fuck it. This feeling feels extremely good. I love it," Luis thought in reckless abandon. The light gradually disappeared, and the sight came into full view. It was Xagrien’s handsome face.

"Do you feel fine?" Xagrien asked; his voice was throaty, as if he was parched.

"Yes, I am okay. I don’t feel any pain at all because of you," Luis leaned in and whispered suggestively. "We are not harmed because your bulges served as our cushion." He finally ended it with a chaste kiss on Xagrien’s lips.

Collective gasps sounded in the background, but not all of them were as timid as the majority.

"My lord and his dead-faced obnoxious brat, I am certain this is not the perfect place and time to do such a thing. Especially not in front of a virgin, unmated old man like me," it was unsure if they were playful or condescending, but it was sure that Master Feren, the speaker, is a huge bitter gourd.

"My Lord, uh, we arrived in the Redhill territory, and..." Legland’s face was flushed due to the secondhand embarrassment, but still he persisted in informing the Moon Elf Lord. "They are here, too. I think all of them."

Bang! The gong once again rang, but this time it sounded broken. The gong player dropped his beater due to the shock. They thought they were meant to surprise their Moon Elf Lord, but as it turns out, they are the ones in for a surprise!

Truthfully, their pitch didn’t stray far from Luis’ reality. The words uttered by Legland exploded in his head like a bomb.

"Holy shit!" He cursed inside his head since he forbade himself from saying any curse word. He slowly looked up and saw the entire crowd of constituents looking at him with their hands covering their mouths and their eyes about to roll on the ground.

Logan, who is lost on how to deal with the situation, could only make an awkward and desperate save. "Welcome to the Redhill Peaks, My Lord..."
