Chapter 174: Welcoming

The arrival of the Moon Elf Lord was received with great fanfare from his people.

Since the rumors would never be contained even in the confines of a four-walled room, it has to be said that they knew the Moon Elf Lord went off to someplace and since then, they’ve been eagerly waiting for their lord to come back.

Luis was dumbfounded seeing the rows of moon elves and orcs waiting for them.

"Is this some kind of hero’s welcome?" He asked with a small smile plastered on his lips.

"They must be looking forward to your return, My Lord," Legland said lightly.

"I don’t know what I should do to these guys," The Moon Elf Lord said as if he was stressed out but in reality, he was pleased to see them.

Seriously, Luis doesn’t know if he should be ashamed since he sneaked his way out of the and yet he received such a great welcome or let himself be happy knowing that these people were eagerly waiting for him.

This certainly looks like a home.

"We are finally back."

The Moon Elf Lord’s words traveled to the ears of everyone present, giving them warmth and blood-pumping excitement.

No one knows who started shouting but the voice of thousands of jovial people thundered throughout the entire Woodrill Plains.

They spoke a loud and resounding, "Welcome back, My Lord!"

Clapping sounds erupted within the crowd, causing a demure blush to bloom on the Moon Elf Lord’s face.

"Okay, settle down, guys."

"My Lord, let them applaud your greatness. You deserve it!"

"Olyn, you too! Oh, goodness, stop!"

"Hehehe."

Xerxes and the little tree spirit watched this spectacle that was full of warmth.

With the same idea lingering in their minds. The Moon Elf Lord was a well-loved person.

It is not just because he is the lord that rules over them or he is the one who dominates an entire race, it is obvious that the Moon Elf Lord won their hearts for a reason.

Xerxes watched as the powerful bearer casually exchanged banters with his subordinates. No lord has ever acted this way based on what he saw and experienced.

’Even I, who has a thick personal connection with the Dragon Lord, didn’t get to act informally like this and yet...’ Xerxes halted his thoughts as he witnessed the friendly atmosphere between the Moon Elf Lord and underlings.

"How envious..." he found himself uttering that.

"No bearer shines like my Moon Elf Lord. Unfortunately for you, he is already mine," Xagrien brutally interjected him.

As if he was electrified, Xerxes snappily turned his head to face the young man.

’This child is hopelessly whipped,’ he thought, seeing that Xagrien’s eyes were glued to the laughing bearer.

"Don’t worry. Never even in my dreams did I wish to be with the Moon Elf Lord."

’I haven’t moved on from your mother,’ Xerxes kept this thought to himself.

"The Great Moon Elf Lord was right! There are a lot of moon elves and orcs here!" The little tree spirit blurted out. Although he is nervous, the excitement was almost tangible in his voice.

’Accepting the Moon Elf Lord’s offer is definitely the right decision. The nature’s energy around this place was abundant and I don’t think I’ll ever get bored starting today.’ the Winged Serpent thought as he energetically flapped his wings that are made up of leaves.

"Fine! Let’s have a grand feast tonight!" The Moon Elf Lord’s voice once again boomed.

With that, the Woodrill Plains welcomed a day full of liveliness and positivity.

After the fun-filled welcoming, Luis and his subordinates are currently taking a stroll on the Woodrill Plains’ edge- or should he say, the outskirts of their city.

The roads are now paved with evenly cut black stone slate, giving a clear outline of the city that is slowly taking form in this land.

This part of the land has been completely transformed into a residential area with all the neatly set rows of well-made stone houses.

Each of them is a two-storey house that is built with smooth and sturdy stones and the ultra-tough timber that Luis made.

They give a rustic charm that the reincarnated Moon Elf Lord adores way back in his previous life.

"I love this," Luis could stop himself from saying his appreciation for his people’s work.

"How did you even manage to finish all these? I am only gone for two days and two nights! You didn’t overwork yourself during the short time of my absence, right?"

He faced the crowd that’s been tailing him.

Almost everyone who went to the Inner Circle was present, except for Rean, who immediately went to the infirmary to do his job, Ilian, who voluntarily and even a little hastily bid his goodbye by saying that he needs to meet his clanmates, Rion, who was pulled by his responsibilities and duties as a sentinel and finally, his brute lover Xagrien, the tall, dark and handsome moon elf slash dragon told him that he needed to do something.

Although he is curious about what made his lover busy the moment they reached home, Luis didn’t ask.

Now, the remaining four subordinates were joined by all the folks from the Tribunal and the people in charge of construction.

So yes, they are a big crowd.

Luis is now like a mother hen with a brood of little chicks following him.

With his phoenix-shaped eyes, he scanned the expressions of the silent representatives of the Tribunal and the construction head, Manulus.

They felt as if their tongues were tied.

Luis knows what this silence means so he nodded his head, "I see, call off any working schedules for today. Everyone will have two days of rest."

Every subordinates’ eyes turned round upon hearing this. Not because they are thrilled that they have a day off. Actually, they strike like someone who just heard their death sentence based on their reaction.

Manulus’ twin brother, Kalux took the initiative to raise his arm, "My Lord, I think there is a misunderstanding here. The reason why we managed to finish almost half of the planned residential houses is because we noticed a significant improvement in the physique and elemental powers of everyone."

"That is the truth, My Lord! We found out that our powers became three times more effective and it is easier to control. That is why we, from the Hyon Clan, managed to bind these rocks on the ground in just a day!" Hylolas, the patriarch of the Hyon Clan chimed in.

They are the clan in charge of road paving projects.

"Really?" Luis knew how upright this man was so he just crossed his arms over his chest and took a minute to think if the said statement was true.

Seeing that the Moon Elf Lord was contemplating, the others took advantage of the silence and politely said their testimonials.

"My Lord, that is indeed the truth. My wind blades could now easily make a cut on the reinforced lumber that you made. Before I was struggling to even make a dent being that I am only a two-star wind user but now, I can at least make a half-cut!"

"My lord, I can easily control the heat of the kiln. That’s why I can precisely make sturdy brick tiles for the roof."

"My Lord..."

"My Lord..."

Forget about contemplating, how can he even have a sound mind when these leaders joined their forces to bug him to let them work?

"Alright, stoooop!" Luis waved his hand and balled it into a fist.

The noisy leaders are rendered silent by that gesture.

"Oh, that’s impressive," Xerxes silently noted.

"I didn’t expect that the Great Moon Elf Lord would have stressful moments like this," the Winged Serpent uttered to Xerxes.

"Actually, the lords have their own troubles."

After saying that, the dragon who disguised himself with a cloak, stared at Luis who is massaging his temple. ’But none of them stressed over the fact if their subordinates have a proper rest or not.’

"The Moon Elf Lord is a very interesting creature."

Luis, who is the subject of their conversation, is clueless that he is being talked about.

Even if he knows, it is certain that he wouldn’t even care. He is helpless in the face of his enthusiastic subordinates.

"Okay fine, work will resume," Luis’ words earned a triumphant roar from the crowd.

’Would you look at these guys, most of them are 150 years old but they are acting like college frat boys,’ Luis thought with pursed lips.

He just shrugged it off and added, "Buy for today, will only be done half day."

The crowd became silent.

"Did you guys forget that there will be a feast later this evening? You do not expect that the priests will forever be your cook and the sentinels as your hunter, right?"

Luis turned his back and readied himself to stroll some more. "It is a happy day because we successfully discovered Dragon Vein in our territory and you guys achieved a milestone in both your job and elemental power. Don’t you think it’s worth celebrating?"
