Chapter 164: To Live And To Exist (3)
"Moon Elf Lord?"
"Who else? Why don’t you open your eyes? You are not a goner yet!"
The annoying voice of the Moon Elf Lord once again grated the inside of his ears.
Not wanting to impair his hearing, Xerxes did as he was told and opened his eyes.
"What are the two of you doing?" He couldn’t help but blurt out.
Xerxes belatedly flinched once he realized that he could now see, talk and move his neck to witness the couple who were standing near his deceased dragon’s body.
No, to be exact. Xagrien was supporting the bearer from the back while the bearer was raising his hand in the air and a huge sphere of mana was accumulating over their heads.
Then from it, small rivers of mana are connected throughout his corpse. Replenishing the mana that he is losing at a rapid pace.
His dragon body is slowly becoming solid once again due to the persistent efforts of Xagrien and the Moon Elf Lord.
"What do you think?" Luis sarcastically responded to the question Xerxes unwittingly asked. "Now do you believe that I can help you, Xerxes?"
A thin strip of blood exited his nostrils as he continuously used his new skill Suckers Touch. Luis badly wanted to laugh to despise himself for being pathetic.
This caused him many repercussions yet he didn’t handle it all by himself.
"Don’t push yourself too much, let me be in control of the mana since I am better at managing it because I am a part dragon," Xagrien whispered to his ears.
"I know. I will rely on you, Daddy." Luis didn’t let this opportunity pass without flirting.
"These two! Why are you doing this? You knew that even though you are trying to replenish the mana in my body it will inevitably break down and my soul will disappear after that!" Xerxes raised his voice. "This excessive effort is just a waste of time. No one can fight against nature. This is how life goes!"
"Don’t lecture me about that because I know that what I am doing is just a quick fix," while being embraced by his lover and his arms raised high, Luis threw a side eye at Xerxes.
"So do you want to stay or go? You need to answer that so that I will be able to do the second step!"
Xerxes pushed himself to stand and just like a miracle, he managed to do it with a little extra push. He saw the blood dripping from the moon elf lord’s nose and he couldn’t stop himself from being moved and at the same time, bewildered.
Why did he go this far when he isn’t one of the Moon Elf Lord’s people?
Because of the tree spirit’s request?
Because of his vaguely exposed relationship with Xagrien?
Xerxes doesn’t know what this lord of the moon elves is thinking right now but he is dead sure that this is another kind of eccentricity.
His chilly blue eyes momentarily exchanged gazes at Luis’ and he could see the question depicted in those dark green eyes. "Answer!"
Luis doesn’t exclaim that because he is angry at Xerxes it’s just the difficulty of using the skill that got him good. His head and arms are on the verge of swelling due to overexertion.
Xerxes could vaguely guess that it isn’t I’ll intentioned as he could see the flowing sweat and scrunched expression of the Moon Elf Lord.
"I will... stay as Xagrien’s tutor for now..." he finally said
That is the cue that Luis was waiting for and in an instant, he pulled out the item that he got from the golden easter egg.
"You were lucky I got this. Congratulations, you are meant to be here." Luis finally said as a silver light suddenly broke out in front of him.
The symbol of a leaf patterned crescent moon appeared on his forehead, making Xerxes stunned as the man was looking at Luis’ side profile.
’Sigil! That legendary Sigil!’ the adult dragon screams internally as pulsating energy fills the air.
"What is this?" Tongue-tied, Xerxes could only ask that question over and over again as he watched this unfamiliar phenomenon happening.
Was it magic? He asked himself but he scraped it as he could feel that it isn’t a power made of mana.
Xerxes thought of nature’s energy but just like mana, there is not a trace of it coming from the silver light.
What kind of foreign power is this?
Xerxes isn’t sure if this feeling is coming from the Sigil since he only experienced the presence of that symbol once and it was almost 500 years ago.
How did the Moon Elf Lord get the Sigil in the first place?
While Xerxes is driven to daze and disbelief, Xagrien didn’t let go of worries that this action would take a toll on Luis. He continues guiding the mana towards the body of the Blizzard Dragon and at the same time, his palms are serving as an anchor to Luis.
"So beautiful," he murmured as his eyes feasted on the silver light radiating from Luis’ palm.
Goosebumps started appearing on each of the males with dragon blood while they were being touched by the silver light.
Meanwhile, Luis remained focused and not too long later, the light subsided and it revealed an eye-catching artifact.
It is an artifact made up of glossy hard metal and is shaped and looks like a water flask.
[Quantum Storage Flask
Class: Gold-tier Artefact
Current Owner: Unnamed Moon Elf Lord
Description: A spatial item which came from a distant advanced civilization that could time-seal and store 500 tons of non-living matter and all types of energy. Bought for 3000 interstellar star coins.]
This is the reason why he is brave in convincing the fallen dragon. Never mind the questionable origin, just the description of the artifact shows an undeniable relationship with his new skill. Its functions compliments Suckers Touch a lot so it is a no-brainer to think about what the intention of the system was.
To keep and help Xerxes.
Actually, it baffled Luis as to why it wasn’t outright stated in the quest but in the end, it works well for him. He will just ask the bitchy admin later on.
"I will need to move beside the dragon’s body, Xagrien."
Luis doesn’t mean anything aside from just simply telling it.
Xagrien replied, "I understand, Luis," and then the brute carried him towards Xerxes’ physical body.
"I will store your body so that it will not disintegrate. This way, the dark magic art that you perform on your lifeless body will be kept on going, hence you will still be able to continue living or existing. Whatever, you decide for yourself. But here’s the thing, you will continue being the teacher of my mate and at the same time you will impart your knowledge to some of my subordinates."
Xerxes, who just experienced a shock that is comparable to a heart attack, answered, "Yes."
"I will entertain questions that I can answer later," Luis said to Xerxes.
The two love birds approached the huge body of Xerxes and Luis couldn’t stop his grimace upon seeing the horrible wounds around the dragon’s body.
"Xerxes suffered greatly before he took his final breath," Luis murmured.
"That’s why he is worthy to be given a second chance," Xagrien replied in a very gentle tone.
"Father?" Luis raised a brow at Xagrien and the other only replied by shaking his head from left to right.
"Oh," this is a matter worth investigating later on, Luis mentally noted.
The Moon Elf Lord touched the dry scales of the dragon and he manipulated nature’s energy to raise its body. He opened the lid of the flask. To Luis’ surprise, a black hole appeared in front of the flask’s mouth.
This is like his space power! Luis couldn’t help himself but tremble in excitement. How long has it been since he experienced using spatial ability? It felt like an eternity to him!
"Anything wrong?" Xagrien worriedly asked upon noticing the pause Luis made.
"I am happy," Luis vaguely answered.
Xagrien leaned on Luis’ temple and placed a short kiss on it, "My kind mate..."
It’s obvious that Xagrien misunderstood something but Luis didn’t bother to correct it. Why should he when he has been rewarded a kiss because of this?
Luis placed the dragon’s body through that black portal and it was gradually swallowed by it.
"What was that, Moon Elf Lord? My body what...Is it alright?"
For the first time, Xerxes felt like he is an ignorant bumpkin who hasn’t seen the world yet.
The moment it completely entered the black hole, he could feel that his mana was no longer leaking.
Xagrien and Luis faced the stunned Xerxes calmly.
"Just imagine that your body found a new house," Luis said nonchalantly as if he didn’t make a mountain-like body of an adult dragon vanish.
So casual?
Xerxes looked at the disheveled Moon Elf Lord with his brows twitching and he couldn’t help but ask, "Are you still a lord?"
