Chapter 154: Eight Out Of Ten Similarities Is A Coincidence?! (4)
The cool breeze of the wind blew and it swayed sparse leaves that the so-called Heart of the Forest.
The three figures standing nearby were filled with caution against each other or so Luis thought.
"Hahahahaha!" The man who introduced himself as a kin of dragon race laughed hard.
The gracefulness in his demeanor slightly faltered but this doesn’t spoil the good looks that Xerxes had.
His peach blossom-shaped eyes slightly squinted and guffawed as if a seasoned comedian joked in front of him.
Luis looked at it and he cannot help but take note of the resembling features of this Blizzard Dragon with his man. That gorgeous plum blossom-shaped eyes, high nose bridge and thin lips perfectly match that of Xagrien’s.
Add to that the striking silver hair.
The only difference that Luis could point out is that Xagrien has that "the man amongst men" charm. Meanwhile, Xerxes has this "gentleman’s" charm.
What Luis wanted more? Of course, it’s the one who looks and is proven to be wild in sex. No further questions were asked.
Xagrien for the win!
"Do you take us as a joke? I will make sure you will regret it!"
Xagrien got ticked at the unserious behavior the man exhibited towards him. In a fit of irritation, a purple lightning shot towards the laughing man.
But instead of getting hit it only permeates to Xerxes’ body. "An illusion?"
Xerxes collected himself and stood straight. Just like that he resumed his unparalleled gentle demeanor that rivalled even the ancient scholars.
"Sorry, I just find it funny that you thought that I have a little desire of attacking you in this state," the Blizzard Dragon explained.
"And to answer your question if this is an illusion," Xerxes used his hand to show his entire body. "It is not. It’s just a part of my soul that I cut before I die. A product of practicing Dark Arts of Magic. It’s not something that a child like you should dabble in so I will not give you any information beyond that."
Luis felt that the silver-haired dragon in front of them lingered his cold blue eyes on him. "Since if you are staying with the Moon Elf Lord, then you are bound to learn more things in the long run. Who knows you will stumble on examples like this again?"
"Okay. I don’t care," Xagrien answered without batting an eyelash. "Then why are you here?"
"I just happen to stray here in my final moments. Nothing else," the man spoke with absolute confidence.
"This is my secret place of solace back then. So I find myself going back here right after I let pregnant Mori go 20-plus years ago." Xerxes looked directly at the young moon elf, his words are like bombs to Xagrien and to Luis of course.
Xagrien was visibly taken aback by the sudden mention of his late mother’s name. The pain that’s been buried within him jolted once again.
This time, Luis while his heart was beating fast, could almost hear the uneven breath of Xagrien.
Losing your parent in such an unfortunate accident will undoubtedly cause trauma to children. The Moon Elf Lord knows that full well so he decided to give his lover the support that he badly needed at this time.
"I’m here, Xagrien," he whispered.
From the back, Luis snaked his left hand to hold on to Xagrien’s, wishing that this could somehow calm the storm that may be wreaking havoc inside him.
And unbeknownst to Luis, it worked like magic, "So you did know my mother?"
The man nodded and he vaguely said, "As close as what you thought we should be. I assumed that you are here because your mother told you about me and you needed help to properly stimulate your Draconic Blood?"
Xagrien stiffened and trembled upon hearing Xerxes’ words. Shouldn’t this guy know that his mother-bearer is already gone?
Luis decisively stepped forward and answered for the sake of shaken Xagrien.
"We are on our way to discover Dragon Veins to mine mana stone. It just so happens that we stumble across your summoned ice lizard head and manage to meet you here."
"It’s illusory minions," Xerxes said dismissively, he sounded as if he spat his words.
"Pardon me if I strike you as a rude individual. It’s just, I don’t have any positive opinion towards lords especially if they are from an enemy race."
Luis doesn’t know if he should be mad at this Blizzard Dragon. Like ice, he smoothly yet coldly told him off in such a polite way.
Should he say it’s okay?
That he could understand the racial indifference?
Or it’s better to deal with it with none of the above?
Luis’s final answer that he came up with was to just shrugged his shoulder and treat the other as air. He was asking for it.
Luis rubbed Xagrien’s arm in a soothing manner. It’s better to focus on his man rather than on someone who has irrational hate towards him.
Haters gonna hate anyway.
"Don’t bully my mate," Xagrien suddenly croaked in an overpowering tone.
The moon elf lord thought that he sounded like a true alpha making his already severe admiration even worse.
Xagrien, on the other hand, is full of gratitude and love for his moon elf lord because, with his help, he could find himself and recollect his composure.
"My mother has already passed away 12 years ago. I thought you already saw it in my memories since you said almost the exact final words that he spoke to me," Xagrien answered. His right hand is firmly holding on the right curve of his mate’s waist.
For him, that heat flowing from his bearer’s skin is what balances his emotion. Without it, saying those words would make him crack.
This time, it was Xerxes who became flabbergasted at the fact presented to him by Mori’s son himself.
"You’re kidding..." he utter stupidly to which Xagrien didn’t respond.
He just looked at him, his expression was the same as an undisturbed lake.
Seeing that the child doesn’t seem to be joking, the smile on his face vanished.
Now that the smile and poise vanished, Luis could finally see the uncanny resemblance between the two.
Eight out of ten. That is how much they resemble each other and Luis wouldn’t believe it if someone said that they are not related in some way.
Luis looks at the two men feeling a painful irony in his heart. Two men who are closely looked alike are currently lamenting over the loss of one amazing bearer.
If the meeting of these two is not fate then he will no longer believe in destiny.
"How did he... lose his life?" Xerxes’ question cut through the emotional silence. He walked around, his eyes are only focused in one direction.
Luis somehow felt pity for this man. He looked lost, in disbelief even. He and Xagrien’s mother should be "really close" for him to have such a strong reaction.
Xagrien answered, "Mother died protecting me. An Earth Dragon ended him but he slayed the beast before he fall."
His voice was firm and had no signs of emotion. But having no emotion while saying such a heart-wrenching experience says a lot.
The moon elf lord knows it too well as Xagrien told this story without hiding his vulnerable side.
Luis found himself tearing up. How can he not? Such motherly love is something that is hard to come by in the apocalyptic earth where he came from.
In that place where morals and responsibilities are diluted by the call for survival, anything and anyone could be the next someone’s sacrificial lamb.
Stories of unconditional love are a guaranteed tug to his heartstrings.
"Don’t cry," Luis suddenly felt that his tears are being wiped away by his gorgeous man.
Xagrien felt melt at his lover’s reaction. How can he cry over his mother’s memory when someone is already doing it for him?
Not caring about the presence of the third person, he kissed Luis’ lips. It was just a smack but he made sure that his and his moon elf lord’s heat will share with each other.
Luis looked at Xagrien with wide eyes. His daddy is getting too shameless! It hasn’t even been a day since they shared their body and yet he became uncontrollable like this!
He slapped Xagrien’s bare chest and turned to face the other man.
Just in time, Xerxes faced him with a sense of sadness and anger reflected on his face. "Earth Dragon?"
The man clenched his fist and it trembled, due to anger.
"So that means those bastards didn’t stop hunting your mother, huh?" The man who introduced himself as the Blizzard Dragon mumbled it isn’t exactly addressed to anyone but Luis and Xagrien heard it.
Xagrien’s heart pounded. Does this mean that his mother’s death is not an accident but a deliberate attack?
Anger started to rise in his chest as his mind trod on these thoughts. The flashbacks of his mother’s last moments played in the back of his head and his eyes slowly started to transform once again.
"Xagrien," he heard Luis’ voice and once again, he found his calm. The transformation didn’t continue and it remained the usual.
However, before he could ask anything of Xerxes, the dragon suddenly spoke straightforwardly. "If you want to know more then I need to talk to you alone, child."
The man’s cold blue eyes looked like he is not taking any compromise, he is adamant in his decision.
That is to exclude Luis from the important conversation.
