There's Something Wrong With You, My Lord!
Chapter 142: Dragon Vein (3)

Chapter 142: Dragon Vein (3)

In the center of the Inner Circle of the Shane Greenwoods, there is a lone small tree that is taking root in the mana stone-covered ground.

It stands about 400 feet high. Looking relatively small compared to the other trees in Shane Greenwoods.

One figure of a tall man was seen standing beside the trunk, he is wearing a white robe that has blue linings on the edge. It is made of brocade garments that are embroidered with perfectly outlined snowflakes.

However, no matter how flowy or lively this robe was, it didn’t move at all despite the occasional blowing of the cold wind.

His long silver that’s tied by a purple string is cascading on his shoulder like a free-flowing waterfall.

He is the person behind the veil of the Inner Circle for 400 years.

The guardian of what lies in the middle of the Inner Circle.

"I’m not sure if this is fate but I am happy that I get to meet you before I disappear," The gentleman who wears the robe whispered.

He was smiling like he was looking at a precious gift while he was watching over the situation on the edge of the Inner Circle. His eyes shone with fondness at the young man who was fighting with his lizard-head minions.

’Seems like you got all the strong suits of your both parents, I am glad.’ the man in the robe smiled.

He witnessed through the shared senses with his minions as the young silver-haired warrior dodged and attacked his minions with great precision despite the fact that he is consumed with great hunger for the mana stones.

"The companions of that young moon elf completely fell to your compound magic circle. They must be under an inescapable illusion and hypnosis. Shouldn’t you let the child exit the forest with his friends? That spell will only be broken once they leave the forest, right?" says a voice that didn’t belong to that tall and gentle-looking man. A small green light came out of the tree.

It landed beside the robed man and then it transformed into a small python.

"He is not in a reasonable state to do that. We need to bond with each other for a while." The man lightly said, a slight arch evident in his lips. "I will have the other minions escort them out just like usual."

"Can you still do it? You’re having trouble using your magic these past few days," the snake, whose body is made up of spirit, said concernedly.

"I can. I came from the apex race in this world."

’This proud man...’

The python looked intently at the expression of the man and realized something from the energetic glint in his eyes.

"You’re enjoying poking fun at that young man."

The silver-haired man who appeared to be 30 to 40 years old laughed.

The python looked relieved when he saw his old friend laugh. They both knew that time is not on their side and that any moment their companionship will cease to exist.

"I am not toying with him, I am saving his life. He badly needs to consume mana stone in order to instigate his growth phase. However, it should be in good moderation."

"Why? Because of complications?"

The man nodded, "If I leave him to overconsume mana stones then he will explode."

The python sassily hissed, it acted the usual. "Oh? More like food training for your race, you say. But why did he look like that? He looks like a moon elf."

It slithered around the handsome man in robes, scrutinizing his appearance. "Both of you had this shiny silver hair and were handsome but that was it. He doesn’t appear to me as your own."

The little tree spirit innocently spoke the truth.

The man with fair skin that is as white as snow wore a small yet beautiful smile on his face.

Just a simple smile and his handsome features are magnified at least ten times. His high and perfect nose bridge added a sense of elegance to his expression.

"He looks like a moon elf because he is indeed a moon elf."

"But you’re training him using the ways of your race?" The tiny translucent python asked critically. If it has an eyebrow, then maybe it is raised high up to the sky.

"Because he is also one of us." The handsome man simply said.

"You mean to say that two different races breed offspring?" The innocent tree spirit asked as if he just heard the most incredulous thing that he heard in years of existence.

The man gracefully nodded.

The python with a translucent body moved left and right in front of his friend, its consciousness full of intrigue.

"Wait, you are talking as if you are familiar with this half-half young man. Don’t tell me you are related to each other?"

An inexplicable emotion flashed in the man’s pair of deep blue eyes and gave an elusive answer, "Maybe yes. Maybe not."

The two stared at each other for a while. Two pairs of eyes that has vertical pupils are caught in a locked gazes until one of them pulled away.

The little snake stopped moving and sighed as surrendered. It shook his head left and right.

"Beings of flesh are really complicated. You procreate in a way that I can never understand and that is why you have a lot of issues and conflict! Thankfully, I’m just a simple tree spirit," the python hissed smugly when he said the last sentence.

"Not so simple though, since you are the Heart of the Forest."

"Yeah, right." The snake that has a spiritual body said sarcastically. He has that noble identity yet a moon elf lord tried to turn him into ash. He just hopes that he wouldn’t meet a moon elf lord for as long as he exist.

They are moving catastrophe!

"Make sure that they wouldn’t mess around. My roots are important. I can’t afford to have one of my roots damaged or else I will let a part of this forest die. Just like what I did before!"

Its eyes suddenly flickered as if it saw something.

It stood stiffly as if it turned into stone. "Hey Xerxes, can I ask, what kind of illusion is cast in your spell?"

"It’s just an illusion that portrays their daily lives. The situation selected is when they are the most comfortable and at ease so that the possibility of breaking from it is close to zero." Xerxes explained. "With this way, they will also fail to realize that they’ve been influenced by my compound spell."

"Oh no, something is wrong with one of the bearers. He is moving in a way that he shouldn’t?!" The python slithered restlessly. If this spirit has skin, then it would probably have goosebumps.

"What do you mean? Anyone under the effect of the spell is hypnotized to walk back from where they came from." Xerxes answered.

Seeing the weird aura that his friend’s spirit, he connected his senses to one of his lizard head minions and looked for the said bearer.

"Oh..." the handsome man stared at the air wide-eyed with a faint blush on his face.

This is a dilemma that they never foreseen!
