Chapter 977 - Chapter 977 Chapter 977 Seeking Help
Chapter 977: Chapter 977: Seeking Help Chapter 977: Chapter 977: Seeking Help After dinner, Yang Qingyin and Yang Qingye returned home together.
On the way back, Yang Qingyin sent Luo Ziling a message, asking if he would like to have tea together.
Luo Ziling certainly wouldn’t say he was unwilling.
Thus, the three met at the tea house where they had tea last time.
“Brother-in-law, I was too impulsive last time. Please forgive me,” Yang Qingye apologized as soon as they met, “I was angry at the time, so…”
“Alright, alright, let’s not talk about that,” Luo Ziling patted Yang Qingye’s shoulder, “It’s all in the past now.”
“Ziling didn’t mean to scheme against you, and he didn’t push you into a pit of fire,” Yang Qingyin whispered, “If he had such ulterior motives, he wouldn’t be planning to give you the entire Night North Bar. From this alone, you can see what kind of person he is.”
“My brother-in-law is the best man in the world, otherwise why would my sister fall for him?” Yang Qingye giggled and joked.
Yang Qingyin’s face immediately turned red, and she lost her temper at Yang Qingye in annoyance and embarrassment, “If you talk nonsense again, see how I’ll deal with you!”
“Sis, I daren’t anymore, brother-in-law save me!”
Watching the siblings act like this, Luo Ziling couldn’t help wanting to laugh.
It seemed like this was always how siblings behaved, with the elder sister often losing her temper at her mischievous younger brother. But if it were an elder brother, he would definitely protect his younger sister and be her guardian angel. Luo Ziling thought that if he had a younger sister, he would definitely do everything he could to protect her.
If he had an elder sister, perhaps she would be like Yang Qingyin, expressing her dissatisfaction with him from time to time, but still caring for him deeply. At this thought, he was reminded of Luo Yuqing–this woman also often showed her dissatisfaction with him.
If she were really his sister, she would surely care deeply for him, Luo Ziling believed this wholeheartedly.
In the end, Yang Qingyin did not reprimand Yang Qingye further in front of Luo Ziling, and after some frolic, the three settled down for tea.
“Did you get scolded again when you went back?” Luo Ziling asked the siblings proactively.
“It wasn’t too bad thanks to my mom. Otherwise, I would have really been scolded, or even beaten up, by my dad,” Yang Qingye spoke quickly and openly, “I don’t know what got into my dad’s head, he’s just not satisfied with us siblings.”
“It must have to do with me,” Luo Ziling said with a wry smile, “If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t be getting scolded, right?”
Yang Qingye smiled, “That probably has something to do with it, but it doesn’t matter. It’s just one of those things. Anyway, he can’t dictate who we befriend, we’re adults now, we have our own judgment on many matters, and he can’t make decisions for us forever.”
“My dad’s resentment towards you has deepened,” Yang Qingyin said, looking expressionlessly at Luo Ziling, “He thinks you’ve disrupted the harmonious relationship our family of four once had. He also said he wants to come confront you again, so you’d better hide far away next time and avoid any conflicts with him.”
“Your dad is going to come find me again?” Luo Ziling appeared very surprised.
Yang Qingyin’s father, Yang Yunlin, had already sought him out once, and her mother, Chen Qiaoyu, had come to him several times–Luo Ziling thought Yang Qingyin’s parents were somewhat odd.
“Well, I’ll stay away to avoid causing you trouble,” he could only agree and then curiously asked, “What else did your dad scold you about?”
“He didn’t get to say much; he was called away by a phone call,” Yang Qingye chuckled, “It seemed to be something urgent and important, probably related to a patient in the hospital. Anyway, after he took the call, he left. Lucky for that call, otherwise my sister and I would have definitely gotten an earful.”
Luo Ziling knew that Yang Qingyin had some things to discuss with him alone, but seeing that she didn’t suggest that Yang Qingye go back first, he knew it wasn’t urgent, so he didn’t press the issue and instead started chatting casually with the siblings.
The three of them also discussed how the Night North Bar was being managed.
They were deep in conversation when Luo Ziling’s phone rang. Surprisingly, it was Wu Mingyun calling. Luo Ziling gestured to Yang Qingye, who was enthusiastically sharing his views, and Yang Qingye immediately stopped talking.
“Hello, Dean Wu,” Luo Ziling answered the phone courteously.
“Ziling, where are you?” Wu Mingyun asked, sounding a bit rushed and skipping the pleasantries.
“I am having tea with a few friends at the tea house by the school gate,” Luo Ziling honestly revealed his whereabouts.
“I am at the First Affiliated Hospital of Yan University. We’ve encountered a tough case and I was wondering if you could come over and give us a hand,” Wu Mingyun said.
“Dean Wu, what kind of help do you need?” Luo Ziling asked, sounding quite surprised by Wu Mingyun’s request.
“Recently, we’ve had a high number of patients with respiratory infections, and some have not seen improvement despite prolonged treatment. A few cases are quite serious and our respiratory departments are full. The current treatments are not very effective, so I thought of you and hoped you could assist us. Why don’t you come over and take a look? We have many critical patients in urgent condition.”
Hearing Wu Mingyun ask for his opinion, Luo Ziling felt a bit embarrassed and quickly agreed, “Alright, I’ll come over and take a look.”
Wu Mingyun said he would have the hospital send a car to pick Luo Ziling up, but Luo Ziling declined and told Wu Mingyun that he would go there on his own.
Wu Mingyun told Luo Ziling to come directly to the Respiratory Department on the first floor when he arrived at the hospital, as he would be there for consultations.
Luo Ziling agreed to this as well.
Wu Mingyun was the Dean of Yan University Medical School and also the Vice-Dean of the First Affiliated Hospital of Yan University.
Many teachers from Yan University Medical School held positions at several affiliated hospitals; and experts from the affiliated hospitals often taught classes at the medical school. This was a common practice at medical schools and their affiliated hospitals in China.
When someone of Wu Mingyun’s standing asked for his assistance, Luo Ziling naturally could not refuse.
“Senior sister, Qingye, since Dean Wu has personally requested my help, it would be rude not to go. Perhaps you two could continue enjoying your tea while I head over there,” Luo Ziling stood up, preparing to leave and asking Yang Xiaodong to drive him to the affiliated hospital.
“Brother-in-law, we’ll come with you to take a look, how about that?” Yang Qingye also stood up. “We have nothing else to do tonight anyway, and I’m sure my sister wouldn’t be thrilled to just have tea with me. Why don’t we all go and take a look? If they have a problem they can’t solve and you help them out, then by following you, we can… bask in your glory! Sister, do you want to go see what’s happening?”
“Hmm!” Yang Qingyin nodded in agreement.
Seeing that Yang Qingyin was also keen to go, Luo Ziling did not refuse in the end.
So, he asked Yang Xiaodong to get the car ready, while he ran back to his dorm to grab the necessary equipment.
On his way back to the dorm, he ignored the questions from Cao Jianhui and the other two guys, hastily grabbed what he needed, and dashed off.
Yang Xiaodong had already prepared the car, with Yang Qingye sitting in the front seat and Yang Qingyin in the back.
When Luo Ziling got into the car, he noticed that Wang Zhenjun and Ye Xiaoli were following in another vehicle.
Without further ado, the two cars headed straight for the affiliated hospital, which was not far away.
But what Luo Ziling, Yang Qingyin, and Yang Qingye had not expected was that upon arriving at the affiliated hospital, they ended up seeing Yang Yunlin.
