Chapter 935 - Chapter 935 Chapter 935 Lin Lans Unusual Behavior
Chapter 935: Chapter 935: Lin Lan’s Unusual Behavior Chapter 935: Chapter 935: Lin Lan’s Unusual Behavior Luo Ziling came out of the bathroom to find that Lin Lan was already fully dressed.
With her black leather jacket and pants on, Lin Lan had regained her usual efficient and chic demeanor, making Luo Ziling suspect for a moment that what he had just witnessed was an illusion.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Lin Lan, noticing Luo Ziling’s odd gaze, was a bit annoyed and flustered.
Luo Ziling chuckled and sized up Lin Lan once more, teasing her, “I’m looking because you’re pretty.”
Lin Lan’s face turned red, and she somewhat infuriatedly kicked at Luo Ziling.
Luo Ziling reacted quickly, dodging while also grabbing Lin Lan’s leg.
Lin Lan hadn’t used her full strength in that kick, it was just in jest, so she didn’t follow through with another move.
However, Luo Ziling’s response was extremely swift, and with a few fluid moves, he had overpowered her.
After wrapping his arm around Lin Lan’s waist and immobilizing her at several pressure points, Luo Ziling laughed, “Still trying to sneak attack me!”
“You’ve learned something new. I can’t muster any strength when you press here,” Lin Lan said, surprised.
“Using medical techniques in combat can greatly enhance one’s fighting abilities,” Luo Ziling responded mysteriously. “Wait until you come back, and I’ll teach you what I’ve recently discovered, so you can surpass Phoenix. What do you think?”
“Sure,” Lin Lan agreed readily.
Luo Ziling then let go of her body, but to his surprise, Lin Lan suddenly hugged him from behind and said softly, “Don’t move, let me hold you for a while!”
Luo Ziling really stayed still, letting Lin Lan hug him from behind.
“This isn’t how you usually act,” Luo Ziling lamented helplessly after a while.
Lin Lan said nothing but let go after a short embrace and walked away with long strides as if nothing had happened.
Outside, the snow had grown heavier, blanketing everything in white.
Stepping from the warm house into the outside, Luo Ziling felt a chill assail him and couldn’t help but shiver.
“This afternoon we can definitely build a snowman and have a snowball fight,” he said, a bit excited.
Lin Lan glanced back at him, seemingly wanting to say something, but ultimately remained silent.
By the time they arrived at Li Haiyang’s place, Li Haiyang was already having lunch.
It was half-past eleven in the morning. Luo Ziling had spent around two hours treating Lin Lan and slept for a little over an hour. Even though he had arrived at eight o’clock, it was undeniably late.
“Let’s have lunch first,” Li Haiyang instructed his staff to prepare a few servings of food for Luo Ziling and Lin Lan.
“I also have two companions!” Luo Ziling remembered Yang Xiaodong and Wang Zhenjun.
“I’ll go arrange it. You start eating,” Lin Lan said as she turned to leave.
In fact, she knew that Li Haiyang had something to discuss privately with Luo Ziling, so she wisely chose to leave for the time being.
“Then, let’s eat together,” Li Haiyang invited Luo Ziling to sit down.
At that moment, a staff member brought Luo Ziling a meal, including two dishes and a soup.
Luo Ziling didn’t stand on ceremony and took a seat next to Li Haiyang.
“You’ve stirred up quite a fuss recently,” said Li Haiyang with a half-smile, “unwilling to take my advice?”
“Not at all,” Luo Ziling quickly shook his head, “I couldn’t possibly ignore your advice, senior. It’s just that often I find myself in situations out of my control. I don’t trouble others, but when others trouble me, I’m not one to swallow my pride, so conflicts arise now and then.”
Li Haiyang sighed, “But you need to understand that being ruled by emotions can often ruin things.”
“Thank you for the reminder, senior,” said Luo Ziling with a wry smile, “Ah, sometimes the people who should be rivals become friends, and those who should be helping each other turn into enemies. Some opponents even emerge without reason.”
Saying this, Luo Ziling’s expression hardened, “That’s just the way I am–I can’t be pushed around. If someone tries to make my life difficult, I am determined not to let them get their way. I’ve already decided that if worse comes to worst, I’ll return to the South, or go back to the Northwest. The world is so big, there must be a place for me to settle.”
“It’s good that you think that way,” Li Haiyang knew that Luo Ziling was quite stubborn, which explained the numerous unreasonable things he had done.
Still, he advised earnestly, “Your mother is a member of the Ling Family, and right now, they are your biggest support. There’s no need to be so inflexible with the Ling Family. After all, they are your elders; you can’t just do whatever you want because you help treat them.”
Luo Ziling didn’t want to argue with Li Haiyang over this and quickly agreed, “I’ll definitely remember the lesson, senior, and try to avoid conflict with them in the future.”
“Even if you do have disputes with the Ling Family, choose someone of your own generation. Your elders, you still need to respect.”
“I understand!” Luo Ziling had an epiphany.
Seeing a change in Luo Ziling’s demeanor, Li Haiyang knew he had taken the point and said nothing further.
The two quickly finished their meals, and after eating, Li Haiyang stood up from his chair, steadied himself on the table, and with a smile, said to Luo Ziling, “Actually, I wanted to tell you some good news today. I can finally walk on my own, a miracle you have wrought.”
As he spoke, he let go of the table and slowly but surely took a step forward.
Then another step… two steps… three steps…
