Chapter 908 - Chapter 908 Chapter 908 Regretted

Chapter 908: Chapter 908: Regretted Chapter 908: Chapter 908: Regretted Ling Zhengping heard the conversation between Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan, but other than a snort of anger, he showed no other reaction.

“You all may go back,” Ling Mingrui personally instructed the visiting doctors, “Do not concern yourselves with the matters here.”

“Yes, sir, we will leave,” the two relieved doctors said, with one of them then signaling his colleague to leave.

“Is it really nothing serious?” Ling Mingrui walked over to Luo Ziling, and asked in a low voice.

“Unless there is an unforeseen issue, there should be no major problem. In disease treatment, one can never guarantee 100% eradication.”

Hearing Luo Ziling’s response, Ling Mingrui silently nodded, then said nothing further.

Ling Jinhua did not come out immediately, but stayed in the bathroom.

After remaining silent for a while, Ling Mingrui quietly instructed Ling Zhengping, “You go first, come back tonight to visit your grandfather.”

Ling Zhengping was somewhat reluctant, but ultimately did not dare to defy his father’s wishes, and prepared to leave after replying.

“How can you leave?” Luo Ziling stopped him as he saw Ling Zhengping about to leave. “We will wait here for the old man to regain his strength. Once he wakes up from his sleep, we will confront this face-to-face. I need to know how you are going to handle the situation where you’ve slandered me.”

“Get out of the way.” Ling Zhengping almost rushed forward to beat Luo Ziling half to death, “Don’t think you can clear yourself of suspicion by acting like this.”

“What if I say you added a bit of croton seed to the old man’s medicine?”

“What?” Ling Zhengping was enraged again, glaring coldly at Luo Ziling. “You’re talking nonsense, do you think you can bear the responsibility?”

“You baselessly pinned the blame on me; anyone can make up such tales. You can’t produce any evidence, yet you’re ready to dump the blame on my head, so I can do the same.” Luo Ziling angrily told Ling Zhengping. “Do not think that just because you are a bit older, you can spout nonsense. You might think yourself formidable and influential, but in my eyes, you are nothing but scum.”

“What did you say?” Ling Zhengping was so angry he wanted to hit someone.

Being called scum not just once, but repeatedly, in front of his own father and sister by an outsider, made him murderous.

At this moment, Ling Mingrui coughed lightly, and seeing his father’s changed expression, Ling Zhengping ultimately did not erupt in anger.

“Just now, in front of so many people, you recklessly accused me of poisoning the old man. Later, we must confront this in front of the old man,” Luo Ziling glared at Ling Zhengping with a determined look, “I don’t care who you are or how important your position is, you have no right to frame me.”

“Ling’er, let him go,” Ling Ruonan, feeling very troubled, watched in silence for a while and finally spoke up to ease the tension, “Your uncle still has things to do.”

“He does not deserve to be my uncle,” Luo Ziling did not respond, but glared furiously at Ling Zhengping. “A person of narrow mind and low character does not qualify to be my uncle. Being my mother’s brother does not automatically make him my uncle. Ling Zhengping, you are scum.”

“Stop causing a scene,” Ling Mingrui finally could not stand it anymore and loudly interrupted the two, “Everyone, go inside and stay put; no one leaves.”

As he spoke, Ling Mingrui walked between Luo Ziling and Ling Zhengping, surveying them with a very stern gaze, then snorted coldly and turned to walk back into Ling Jinhua’s room.

Ling Zhengping looked at Luo Ziling with a murderous gaze before he turned and followed Ling Mingrui into Ling Jinhua’s room.

Outside Ling Jinhua’s room, there was a small reception area where Ling Mingrui and Ling Zhengping sat down.

Ling Jinhua had already fallen asleep. Because they were worried about the old man’s safety and because Luo Ziling had recklessly caused a commotion with Ling Zhengping, Ling Mingrui didn’t dare to leave.

“Did someone beat sense out of you?” Ling Mingrui coldly snorted as Ling Zhengping followed him inside, “Without any verbal evidence, you actually jumped to the conclusion that the kid poisoned him? Are you just asking to be slapped in the face?”

Ling Zhengping remained silent, his head lowered, the scars on his face appeared even more ferocious.

These scars were the marks left from an accident in the office.

The incident in the office was also the main reason Ling Zhengping lost his composure today.

He believed it was Luo Ziling’s doing.

Luo Ziling was highly skilled, and he had several retired elite special forces soldiers around him.

If they decided to mess with him, they could definitely make his life miserable.

Thus, when he learned that the old man had shown symptoms of poisoning after taking the medicine prescribed by Luo Ziling, he couldn’t control himself, and the moment he saw Luo Ziling, he exploded. Of course, another reason for Ling Zhengping’s uncontrollable rage was something Ling Mingrui had just told him, which was roughly that the old man had been very upset these days because of Sir Luo.

Many factors led to Ling Zhengping losing his temper and eventually losing his composure under Luo Ziling’s retort. Ling Zhengping had not expected Luo Ziling to disrespect his elders, to publicly insult him as “scum,” and even “worse than pigs and dogs.”

Ling Zhengping couldn’t understand how someone could be as shameless as Luo Ziling. He also couldn’t comprehend why Ling Mingrui remained indifferent after his own son was insulted. Didn’t that insult include Ling Mingrui as well?

Actually, before seeing Luo Ziling, Ling Zhengping had not thought he would react so inappropriately.

Seeing Luo Ziling’s provoking demeanor, his anger uncontrollably arose and eventually led to them shouting at each other.

However, after being silent for a while, Ling Zhengping quickly apologized to his father, “Dad, seeing Grandpa like this, I was very anxious, so I couldn’t help getting angry. But I won’t let today’s insults slide; he insulted you too.”

“The old man behaved like this on his ninetieth birthday, and he did it again today, what’s so surprising about that?” Ling Mingrui said indifferently, “That a young lad could so easily provoke you shows how poor your cultivation is. Remember, he’s just an untaught wild child. Are you really worth stooping to his level? Reflect on this when you go back, or Grandpa will be disappointed in you.”

While Ling Mingrui didn’t emphasize his words much, they struck Ling Zhengping like thunder, making his heart pound.

Ling Zhengping knew what his father’s words implied; and of course, they weren’t just his father’s thoughts, but Grandpa’s.

Grandpa must have learned about his actions. His loud quarrel with Luo Ziling in the yard certainly must have alarmed Grandpa.

Grandpa being angry was truly the most terrifying thing.

He truly regretted his irrationality today…
