Chapter 1474: Chapter 1474: True Nature Revealed

The crowd in Muslim Street was incredibly dense, making it seem as though they might get separated at any moment.

Luo Ziling, worried about an accident, asked Ouyang Feifei to walk a bit closer to him.

Instead of grabbing Luo Ziling’s arm, Ouyang Feifei simply held onto his clothes.

This made Luo Ziling sigh in relief.

However, after walking for a while through the bustling Muslim Street, Luo Ziling gave up all hope of running into Yang Qingyin tonight.

In fact, he didn’t even want to meet Yang Qingyin in such a chaotic and noisy place.

He hoped to encounter Yang Qingyin in a more romantic setting, and preferably without Ouyang Feifei by his side.

Ouyang Feifei hadn’t expected Muslim Street to be so crowded either. After walking for a while, she started to reconsider.

"How about we just find a random place to eat and then head back?" she suggested quietly.

Walking amidst so many people made her feel unsafe, even with Luo Ziling by her side.

"Alright," Luo Ziling agreed without hesitation.

They went to a well-known snack shop and bought two Chinese hamburgers, two skewers of lamb, and a pomegranate juice for each of them.

After buying the food, Luo Ziling suggested they eat while they walked. He originally thought Ouyang Feifei would surely refuse—after all, a goddess-level woman like her wouldn’t behave as casually as regular people.

But to his surprise, Ouyang Feifei actually started eating the Chinese hamburger right on the street. Even the greasy roasted lamb skewers were devoured with relish, and she sipped on pomegranate juice between bites.

Luo Ziling stared at her in disbelief, utterly dumbfounded.

"What are you looking at?" Seeing him gaze at her in shock, Ouyang Feifei rolled her eyes at him. "Are you thinking that I look completely different from my usual dignified self? I’m not as detached from the real world as you think. In the right environment, I can let my guard down and act like a normal woman."

"Alright, I guess I underestimated you," Luo Ziling replied with a smile, saying nothing more.

By the time they exited Muslim Street, Luo Ziling had already finished eating, but Ouyang Feifei couldn’t handle all the meat, so she offered the remaining half of a lamb skewer to him. "I can’t eat anymore. This is for you."

"You’re seriously giving me something you already ate?!" Luo Ziling refused outright.

"My saliva didn’t even touch it, so what’s the big deal?" Ouyang Feifei insisted on handing over the leftover skewer.

In the end, Luo Ziling accepted it and finished it in two bites.

After finishing her pomegranate juice, Ouyang Feifei handed the trash to Luo Ziling and said, "Now’s the time to be a gentleman."

Luo Ziling silently took the trash and tossed it into a nearby bin.

"How about we take a picture by the Bell Tower?" Ouyang Feifei asked as they walked out. For the first time, she grabbed Luo Ziling’s arm. "The Bell Tower is a symbol of Chang’an, and the night view is stunning. Let’s go take a few photos, okay?"

"I feel like you’re acting nothing like your usual self tonight," Luo Ziling said, looking at Ouyang Feifei with confusion. "Did someone else take over your body?"

"You just don’t understand me," Ouyang Feifei replied, slightly annoyed as she looked at Luo Ziling. "I told you earlier—you’ve only seen one side of me. You haven’t discovered the other aspects of who I am. I’m no different from regular girls. I don’t want my youth to disappear behind a mask of icy indifference. It’s just that the people who can make me laugh freely, let me be unapologetically happy, and allow me to drop my guard are very, very rare."

Seeing Luo Ziling’s unusual expression, Ouyang Feifei softly added, "Today, everything aligned perfectly—time, place, and people—so you’re seeing the most authentic version of me. Alright, let’s go. Stop dawdling; we should head back early to rest."

With no better option, Luo Ziling followed Ouyang Feifei and let her drag him toward the Bell Tower.

Ouyang Feifei handed her iPhone to Luo Ziling, found a spot she liked, removed her glasses, tilted her head slightly, and asked him to take a picture for her. Looking at the glowing "Chang’an Year, Most Chinese" sign near the Bell Tower, the dazzling array of lights, and the stunning beauty of Ouyang Feifei, Luo Ziling felt as though everything was surreal.

He had come to Chang’an intending to find Yang Qingyin, but instead, he ended up spending time with Ouyang Feifei.

He couldn’t help but wonder what Yang Qingyin would think if she saw this scene.

"Hey, handsome! Could you help us take a picture?" Ouyang Feifei’s voice interrupted Luo Ziling’s daze.

A couple happened to pass by, and Ouyang Feifei called out to the man, who looked quite dashing, asking him to take a photo for them.

"Of course!" The man was immediately thrilled to be addressed by such a beautiful woman. However, upon getting a good look at Ouyang Feifei and Luo Ziling, he felt a bit crushed. Their looks were outrageously stunning, as if designed to blind others.

Nevertheless, he enthusiastically helped them take a photo together.

Luo Ziling was still in a daze when Ouyang Feifei suddenly grabbed his arm and rested her head on his shoulder. Only then did he snap out of it, instinctively trying to push her away. But Ouyang Feifei held on tightly, leaving him unable to break free immediately.

In that brief moment, the helpful man had already taken several photos of the two of them.

Only then did Ouyang Feifei release Luo Ziling’s arm. She thanked the man repeatedly and took her phone back.

"What are you trying to do?" Luo Ziling asked irritably as he watched Ouyang Feifei delightedly review the photos.

"Relax, I won’t show them to anyone. I’ll just keep them as a memento," Ouyang Feifei said, ignoring his annoyance as she smiled happily. "This is our first photo together. We look great! Want to take a look?"

She extended the phone toward Luo Ziling.

But just as he reached to grab it, she pulled it back.

"Never mind, I won’t let you see it. You’ll probably just delete it anyway. Besides, you don’t want to see it, right?" Ouyang Feifei teased, showing a coy, girlish expression before grabbing onto Luo Ziling’s arm again. "So, should we head back to rest now, or keep exploring a bit longer?"

Luo Ziling didn’t respond. Instead, he sped up, using the motion to free himself from Ouyang Feifei’s grip.

Ouyang Feifei didn’t seem to mind and quickly kept pace with him.

"It’s been so many years since I’ve gone out so relaxed like this. Honestly, it feels amazing," Ouyang Feifei murmured softly. "Seeing so many people enjoying themselves made me realize how much of life’s pleasures I’ve missed out on over the years."

"At least you’re better off than I am. During the holidays, it’s usually just my grandfather and me," Luo Ziling retorted bluntly.

His reply didn’t dampen Ouyang Feifei’s mood. She continued with bright enthusiasm, "I didn’t expect one impulsive decision to make me understand life’s true meaning. No matter what, I need to thank you. You’ve brought a huge change to my life."

Luo Ziling glanced sideways at Ouyang Feifei but didn’t say a word.
