Chapter 1195 - Chapter 1195 Chapter 1195 Quarrel
Chapter 1195: Chapter 1195: Quarrel Chapter 1195: Chapter 1195: Quarrel Luo Ziling had finished treating Li Haiyang and then stepped out of his room.
Li Haiyang fell into a groggy sleep.
After a morning of treating two people, Luo Ziling also felt quite tired.
Upon leaving Li Haiyang’s room, he naturally made a few gestures of shrugging and flinging his arms.
But he stopped halfway through his movements because he saw Phoenix and Lin Lan standing at the door.
“What’s with you two, not cold or what?” Luo Ziling looked at them with puzzlement, “Endurance training in the freeze? Or eavesdropping on our men’s conversation?”
“Like I’d be as bored as you,” Phoenix glared at Luo Ziling disdainfully and then ordered, “Come with me!”
With that, she headed towards another small building.
“Why should I do what you say?” Luo Ziling did not follow her but stood still, shrugging and flinging his arms, “If you want to talk, can’t you just say ‘please’?”
Seeing Luo Ziling and Phoenix at loggerheads, Lin Lan got a bit anxious. She tugged at Luo Ziling, “Come on, she has something to discuss with you.”
“Not going,” Luo Ziling chuckled at Lin Lan, “If she has something to discuss with me, shouldn’t she be the one to lower her stance?”
Phoenix heard what Luo Ziling said and stopped in her tracks but didn’t come back.
“If you don’t want to come, that’s fine, but don’t regret it,” after dropping these words, Phoenix walked on, turned a corner, and disappeared from sight.
“Come on, why the vanity?” Lin Lan was a bit exasperated, smiling ruefully as she pulled on Luo Ziling’s arm, “Let’s go!”
“I’m not her underling, why should I obey her commands?” Although Lin Lan was pulling him along, Luo Ziling still felt a bit reluctant.
Lin Lan wasn’t as icy as before, patiently explaining, “You are an external member of Dragon Rise, so of course, you count as one of her subordinates. Besides, she has important matters to discuss with you.”
In truth, really cold and aloof women are not that common. Even the coldest of women will reveal their true nature in the presence of certain people.
Just like Lin Lan now.
With Lin Lan acting this way, Luo Ziling didn’t feel good about refusing any longer and followed her.
After walking some distance, Lin Lan let go of his hand but didn’t leave, instead accompanying him as he walked.
“I’ll treat you after lunch when I have some energy back,” as they walked together, Luo Ziling said softly to Lin Lan, “Make sure lunch has plenty of meat, or else I won’t have the energy to treat you.”
Lin Lan blushed slightly at whatever she was thinking of but didn’t say anything, just nodded gently.
Lin Lan led Luo Ziling to Phoenix’s residence.
The door was open, and they walked straight in.
“If Peacock hadn’t cleaned up your mess, you’d already be taken away by the police,” as soon as they entered, Phoenix coldly said, “If you can’t handle things, then don’t do them; otherwise, you just cause trouble for everyone.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Luo Ziling was getting a bit annoyed.
This woman, what’s gotten into her today? Why was she being so opinionated towards him, constantly in a bad mood?
“If you wanted Chen Jiahai dead, why bother like this? Whether it was you or someone around you, there are a hundred ways to make him die without a trace,” Phoenix seemed actually a bit angry and, regardless of Lin Lan’s presence, started to scold Luo Ziling, “Using a woman who shouldn’t even be on your radar, idiot.”
Although Phoenix spoke irritably in the previous sentences, Luo Ziling wasn’t particularly offended, but the last “idiot” made him jump up: “What did you say?”
“You’re an idiot,” Phoenix said, not caring about Luo Ziling’s explosive reaction, “During the study class, you were always together, and before the class ended, she died in Chen Jiahai’s villa, ruining him as well. Even without any evidence, who would believe you had nothing to do with this?”
Luo Ziling stepped closer to Phoenix, took a deep breath, and said earnestly, “Even if I don’t do anything, everyone knows that Chen Jiahai and I have a conflict. He’s tried to kill me more than once. If something happens to him, whether I’m involved or not, I’d be a suspect, right? If I died, he would be the prime suspect, wouldn’t he?”
Phoenix hesitated for a moment, suddenly unsure of what to say.
“He had that woman undergo plastic surgery to approach me, trying to ruin me. I just wanted to disgust him, letting the woman turn around and ruin him instead.” Luo Ziling didn’t hide anything from Phoenix and Lin Lan, saying agitatedly, “Let him reap what he sowed. If they suspect me, let them, because I really know nothing about this affair. They’ll think I’m involved regardless, without evidence, they can’t really do anything to me, can they?”
“You really are an idiot,” Phoenix cursed Luo Ziling disdainfully again, pointing at Lin Lan, “Do you have any idea how much she’s done for you? You went into that woman’s room, and you were caught on the hotel’s surveillance. Your calls and messages with her could be used as evidence of your conspiracy to kill Chen Jiahai. All these things, it was Kong Que who erased them for you. She didn’t tell you, and you thought things would just work out like this? Let me tell you, if this brings trouble to Kong Que, I won’t let you off the hook.”
“Hot-tempered women don’t get husbands, did you know that?”
Luo Ziling’s untimely comment made Phoenix freeze and stunned Lin Lan.
After a moment, Lin Lan almost wanted to laugh.
No one ever dared to yell and be so disrespectful in front of Phoenix. Luo Ziling was the first.
Moreover, he used the threat of her being unmarried to ridicule Phoenix.
Phoenix was already twenty-eight, and in many people’s eyes, an unmarried woman of her age was considered leftover.
Even though Phoenix wouldn’t care about these things, the direct mockery from Luo Ziling, Lin Lan knew, would definitely anger her.
However, she didn’t know what to say.
Phoenix just glared coldly at Luo Ziling for several moments, ultimately letting it go without making a fuss.
Of course, she really wanted to stab Luo Ziling dead.
This damn man was too detestable.
“From now on, don’t help him with these pointless tasks,” Phoenix instructed Lin Lan, “He has his own experts, he doesn’t need your help. Besides, he might not even appreciate it. Such a temper, you ask for his help, and he doesn’t want to.”
“Why are you talking so much today?” Luo Ziling looked at Phoenix in surprise, “Are you stressed out or what?”
Phoenix glared at Luo Ziling for a few seconds, then ultimately said expressionlessly, “Enough about that, it’s all in the past. Remember this, don’t bring us trouble. Also, never reveal your Dragon Rise team member identity lightly, or we will revoke your credentials.”
“Take it back then, what’s the big deal,” Luo Ziling said, pulling out his credentials from his pocket and handing them back to Phoenix.
Phoenix was a bit surprised but didn’t say anything, simply extending her hand to receive the credentials Luo Ziling handed over.
