Chapter 1095 - Chapter 1095 Chapter 1095 You May Not Believe
Chapter 1095: Chapter 1095: You May Not Believe Chapter 1095: Chapter 1095: You May Not Believe Yang Qingyin’s expression stiffened, but she reacted quickly, immediately stopping the two guards, “It’s okay, Ziling is just checking on my grandfather. If you’re worried, you can stand by and watch.”
She paused, then quickly said to the person who had just led them in, “Mr. Qing, could you please get me a bottle of disinfectant alcohol?”
The middle-aged man called Mr. Qing poked his head in, looked seriously for a moment, obeyed Yang Qingyin’s command, and someone went to get the disinfectant alcohol. Yang Yuanshan snorted angrily, but in the end, he said nothing more and didn’t struggle further.
Luo Ziling took Yang Yuanshan’s pulse and then checked his breathing and heartbeat.
While examining these conditions for Yang Yuanshan, Luo Ziling couldn’t help but despise the old man.
Yang Yuanshan was just too proud to show his weakness, and in fact, he hoped that Luo Ziling, this bastard, would help him in treatment.
After the examination, Luo Ziling stopped his actions, and then said very solemnly to Yang Yuanshan, “If I’m not mistaken, Sir Yang, you suffer from moderate pulmonary atrophy, only slightly improved after treatment. However, your lung problem has not healed, but is slowly worsening. If you get an X-ray now, there should be indistinct shadows in your lungs, which are precursors of tumors turning into lung cancer. Within two years at most, it’ll claim your life.”
Yang Yuanshan’s face changed instantly upon hearing Luo Ziling’s words, and Yang Qingyin standing beside him turned pale.
“Luo, stop talking nonsense,” Yang Yuanshan said angrily and somewhat embarrassedly, “Don’t think you can muddle through this way.”
Sir Yang may not believe it,” Luo Ziling responded with a nonchalant smile, “If I cared about the past grudges between our Luo and Yang families, I wouldn’t have even mentioned this, not to remind you. But for Qingyin’s sake, I spoke up today, and moreover, I’ll tell you that I can completely cure you without surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy. This is the gift I wish to give you, but if Old Sir Yang does not want to accept, then I won’t insist.”
Luo Ziling said, smiling strangely at an upset-looking Yang Qingyin, then told Yang Yuanshan, “Well, the gift has been given, whether you accept it or not is Sir Yang’s decision. Next, the young man is ready to receive education from Sir Yang. I wonder what Sir Yang called me here today for?”
Yang Yuanshan had indeed had something to instruct or rather to scold Luo Ziling and to warn him to stay away from Yang Qingyin when Yang Qingyin brought him over today. But he was somewhat disconcerted by Luo Ziling’s recent words, and his inclination to scold faded.
Immediately, he waved his hand impatiently at Luo Ziling, “Just go! Both of you leave, it annoys me to see you!”
“Really?”
Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin exchanged looks, both couldn’t believe that Yang Yuanshan was actually letting them go.
It was such a formal invitation, and now they were being asked to leave without even discussing the original matter!
But Yang Qingyin quickly recovered her spirits; she knew that her grandfather was no longer in the mood to chastise Luo Ziling.
She breathed a sigh of relief, quickly tugged at Luo Ziling’s sleeve, then said to Yang Yuanshan, “Grandfather, then you rest for now. We’ll leave, and come to visit and chat when you have time.”
“Go, go,” Yang Yuanshan waved his hand again with impatience.
Luo Ziling didn’t say anything further, gave a bow to Yang Yuanshan, took Yang Qingyin’s hand, and walked out of the study.
Yang Qingyin struggled briefly but failed to pull away, feeling both embarrassed and annoyed.
Yang Yuanshan also saw Luo Ziling pulling Yang Qingyin away by the hand and couldn’t help but feel annoyed again.
However, Luo Ziling walked so fast, Yang Yuanshan didn’t have time to react before Ziling had taken Qingyin by the hand to the courtyard, leaving him no choice but to give up.
Ye Xiaoli parked the car at the entrance of the courtyard, got out, and waited for them inside. Seeing the two come out so quickly and still holding hands, she couldn’t help but be taken aback.
But wisely, she didn’t ask anything, and upon hearing Yang Qingyin say they were leaving immediately, she went to start the car.
During the drive, Yang Qingyin didn’t say much, and even stopped Luo Ziling from trying to say something.
They drove directly back to the house where Yang Qingyin lived. After getting out of the car, Yang Qingyin immediately pulled Luo Ziling upstairs.
“Was what you said earlier really true?” Once they were in the room, Yang Qingyin asked Luo Ziling seriously, “Or were you just trying to scare my grandfather?”
“Of course it’s true,” Luo Ziling replied solemnly. “How could I joke about such a thing?”
Hearing this, Yang Qingyin’s heart immediately sank to the pit of her stomach.
She would rather believe that Luo Ziling was joking, or that he had made up a lie to avoid being scolded by Yang Yuanshan that day.
Although she wasn’t a medical student, she was well aware of what lung cancer meant.
Among the cancers with the worst prognosis were liver cancer and lung cancer.
Yang Qingyin knew that her great-grandfather, Yang Shangming, Yang Yuanshan’s father, had died of cancer, apparently from lung cancer spreading to the liver.
She wasn’t very clear about the specifics, but she had heard about the type of disease from her own father.
She completely trusted Luo Ziling’s medical skills, and hearing that he wasn’t joking but telling the whole truth naturally turned her pale with shock.
Although Yang Yuanshan wasn’t very pleased with her at the moment, her grandfather had cherished her from childhood, treating her better than any other younger relative. Yang Qingyin also had deep feelings for her grandfather, even if he disagreed with her being with Luo Ziling and had changed his attitude toward her because of it.
But she was still very concerned about her grandfather’s physical and emotional health.
“So what should we do?” she asked, clutching Luo Ziling’s hand tightly, a bit helplessly.
“Your grandfather’s condition isn’t severe right now, it’s just that there has been a slight change in the illness. Modern medical diagnostic methods are unable to detect any obvious abnormalities yet. Many indicators are only slightly elevated and aren’t sufficient for a diagnosis. I think even if we were to conduct CT or MRI scans, it wouldn’t be possible to find any significant cancerous lesions. But by the time obvious lesions in the lung are found, it would have already missed the best treatment period.”
Luo Ziling’s explanations didn’t fully clarify things for Yang Qingyin.
He felt obliged to further explain, “Traditional medicine and Western medicine have different principles. One can say that traditional medicine focuses more on curing the root cause. If the root cause is eliminated, the symptoms will disappear. Western medicine often merely cuts off a part or kills the abnormal cells, which, though effective in the short term, can also harm the innocent and might even destroy a person’s immune system completely. Many serious illnesses don’t kill the patient; rather, the patient is killed by the treatment. Traditional medicine may not show quick effects but it cures the root cause. Once recovered, the problem won’t recur. If your grandfather trusts me, I will treat him without charging anything until he completely recovers. But if he isn’t willing to accept my treatment, then there’s nothing I can do!”
After saying these words, Luo Ziling looked meaningfully at Yang Qingyin.
