The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system -
Chapter 509 - 509 Again, don't believe the news
509: Again, don’t believe the news.
509: Again, don’t believe the news.
In the morning, Alix was gaming with joy when suddenly the gaming glasses from her eyes, disconnecting her from the game.
“Heeeey.” she whined.
She was not alone in her whining, Majesty was the same way and so was Baby.
They all looked at Caishen as if he had lost his mind.
Caishen was not in the least bit frightened by their piercing and complainant gazes.
It was not as if they could attack him anyway.
“There is a a story on the news this morning about thieves breaking into the home of the deputy minister of foreign affairs and starting a fire.
We both know this particular deputy minister is the bureau minister for foreign affairs.
The deputy minister is nowhere to be seen but they found blood in his house and it is being assumed that he has been kidnapped or killed during the robbery.
There is also a speculation that he died in the fire.
What exactly did you do with Mantis last night?
I have been checking the website and all mention of minister Wei and everything related to him is banned.
There are sites which registered system hosts can access but i can’t since i am our secret weapon.
I am certain that there must be something on those other sites.
Would you like to fill me in?” “We didn’t kill or kidnap him.” Alix answered honestly.
Caishen raised his eyebrows, encouraging her to go on.
She sighed, “Look, maybe i burned his feet a little and Mantis stung him just a bit but we didn’t kill him.
Also, i would have told you about him but you were gone when i returned.
You were at the basketball game with your father and you slept at the old mansion.
How could i reach you?” Caishen directed his eyes to the phone besides her on the bed.
“I called you before going to bed last night, you could have filled me in.” “Your grandfather was calling for you and it sounded urgent.
It’s important to spend time with family hubby, more important than my little trip to the minister’s house.
Anyway, all we did was break into his house, kill his robots and punish him a little.
Someone else cut off his hand, which is why there is blood at the scene.
Hubby, you know better than to trust the news lately, they do not report the truth anyway.
They haven’t reported anything on the illegal nine billion he had accumulated, the gold and all other tidbits in his safe.” Caishen sat down, expressing his interest in what she had found in the minister’s house.
“Nine billion,” Alix nodded.
“In cash.
It’s too bad i had not gone with my bag or i would have packed it all away.
I couldn’t even take a note because the bureau had a watcher keeping an eye on us, a little sparrow that trailed us from here.
Also, there were two other system hosts with us so i was not eager to share my secrets.
To top it off, most system hosts have cameras in their eyes which are supposed to be activated when they are on missions.
I couldn’t even help myself to a single thing in that safe.” She crossed her arms, “Mm, the fire was not my work.
When we left, the bureau had all sorts of officers and agents pulling in.
They must have set the fire to cover their tracks.” Satisfied with the answers she had given Caishen looked at her arms, neck and legs.
“Were you injured?” “Of course not, i am little superwoman, invincible Alix.
Host of the mightiest system that ever lived.” While praising herself, she pulled on her gaming glasses and reconnected to the virtual world.
Caishen kissed her on the head, ruffled her hair and left the bedroom.
Her character in the game came back to life in the exact position and place where she had been.
When she noticed that Dark Death was hiding behind an old hole riddled space ship, she did the same.
While she was gone, Dark Death had continued playing so she understood the situation better than her.
“Why are we hiding?” “We have company, these bastards are using our strategy to rake up their body count now.
Everyone is using our game plan now and looking for monster rest stops.” On the virtual screen, Alix saw other players in the same area as them, looking for any intact door.
Because of the popularity of Alix and Dark Death’s self sacrifice when they blew themselves up to die with the monsters, it had become a popular go to move for most players now.
Almost all the players had become deranged suicide bombers whenever they run into a hoard of monsters.
In fact, the style of playing had changed.
Players formed teams, two people were used to lure the monsters and the rest rushed over and exploded with them.
Thanks to this, it was difficult for a single player to maintain the top position as it was constantly changing every hour.
The rifts were becoming smaller and smaller, indicating that they were running out of monsters to kill and soon, those who qualified to face the final boss were to be announced.
“You cracked the code of the fourth world and started a trend.” the blue elf commented.
“What are you going to do now?” Alix looked at her ice guns and put them away.
From her bag, she retrieved different guns, normal ones.
She tapped Dark Death on the shoulder and told her to get different weapons as well.
“What are we doing?
Normal guns don’t kill monsters?” She was confused, if they confronted the monsters with normal weapons it would be a disaster for them.
“Let’s kill the other players, when resources become scarce only the strong should eat.” Alix moved her right leg but Dark Death held her back temporarily with a question.
“Hey, have you tried to take any of the cores from this world into the real world, your world?” Alix shook her head, she had not been very interested in doing that.
Her system had told her the cores were too dangerous to have laying around so she didn’t bother to keep any of the cores she collected.
“Why?” Dark Death had this big frown on her face when she answered.
“Tell her to shut up and stop talking right now.” Alix’s system yelled.
It was too late however as Dark Death was already providing Alix with an answer.
“They don’t leave the game, you pack them to go but when you disconnect from the virtual network in your house or office, they are gone, like ….” [Players are forbidden from talking about real world affairs.
Players Alix and Dark Death have broken this rule and will be banned from the game for forty eight hours.]
