435: Hidden city 435: Hidden city Somewhere deep inside the large compound which was the headquarters of the ministry of water resources, in a lab that only a few people were aware of, a close study of the objects purchased from Alix’s mall was underway.

The cats were in a large well organized room which had been designed to look like the pet shop in Alix’s mall.

They even got to keep the little hats on and someone had bought more from the pet shop.

There had been some puppies in the shop and they were in a separate room opposite that one.

Both rooms had transparent glass walls allowing the observers to keep an eye on the pets all the time.

In addition to that, security cameras were installed above and a team watched the animals twenty four hours a day.

At the moment, resident veterinary doctors were checking on the cats and drawing some blood.

Standing outside and observing was a different group of people, some in white gowns like doctors or researchers and others in different outfits.

A few were dressed like soldiers serving in different branches of the army.

“Have you guys seen this?”  A teenage girl in round dorky glasses that seemed to be too big for her face asked the others.

She held up her phone and showed them the video of Royal, grandma Tai’s cat feeding himself milk.

“Awww, that’s so cute Suri, where did you get that?.” a woman asked.

“Where else if not the nations number one cat lady.” A different woman answered.

She was the one that always watched Alix with the magpie, the one they called Mantis.

She had been a regular visitor because she was hoping to adopt one of the cats.

Alix was not aware but in this group of people, she was commonly referred to as the cat lady, the very words Pang Ji De had used on the show lets get physical.

“How come these ones don’t do things like that?

The vets keep saying they are normal.” A man asked.

“Who cares, they are adorable and that’s all that matters.

As soon as they are declared available i am taking one of these furry little babies home.” Mantis said.

She rubbed one of her fingers against the wall and smiled at the black and white cat in the checked detective hat.

“That one, it’s the cutest of them all.”  A young man that headsets over his ears and a phone in his hand which he was using to play a game walked up to the group and stopped.

He looked at them lazily and then said, “Meeting, now.

It’s time to approach Lin Alix.

Captain Ho is looking for volunteers just in case she freaks out and turns into a dragon.”  “I am not going.” the young girl in the glasses announced firmly.

“I am afraid of fire.” she added.

“You are afraid of everything Suri.” Mantis reminded the girl.

The young girl practically lived down here in the lab, never leaving if she didn’t have to.

She had already been eliminated from the list of people that were going to approach Alix and explain to her the real reality of the world they were living in.

The group broke into pairs and they took an elevator which sent them even deeper underground.

When the elevator stopped, they stepped out and got onto an underground bullet train, a black one that looked nothing like the ones used for transport normally.

For one, it was an AI operated train with technology that was not being used above the surface.

The train travelled for thirty minutes and stopped.

Everyone got off and they entered a different elevator which took them up.

They came to an entire different place that was like a small city beneath the city.

It was not just any normal city but a whole research city, a place filled with wonders like robots carrying equipment, people flying and animals walking on two legs or holding conversations with people.

Some of those animals like the bear which passed by them was dressed in a lab coat with glasses over its eyes.

It was carrying a binder in it’s hand.

One of the men leaped up and tapped his hand against it’s paw.

“Whatsup professor J.”  “Hello Macau.” the bear answered.

After answering, it morphed and turned into a human.

He was large in size just as he was in his bear form.

While he was a black bear when he morphed, he was awfully pale as a human.

He looked like he only saw the sun once a year he was allergic to it’s rays.

“Are you all here about the newbie?” he asked them.

“She is not one of us yet so she is not a newbie.” Suri informed professor J.

“Is it true that the Americans caught the guy who was causing all those changes in the weather?” Macau asked the professor.

“I don’t know.

Where did you hear that from?” the professor in turn asked a question of his own.

“Less talk, more walking.” Mantis reminded the men.

Everyone hastened their feet and they walked to a large boardroom which could sit one hundred people.

Already, it was occupied by other people so the group broke up to find seats in the available places.

A different group of people, all dressed as either soldiers of researchers walked in.

A woman leading the researchers stepped up to a podium without wasting time and commanded the big screen behind to turn itself on.

Alix’s pictures, both dragon and human were displayed.

In the corner above her human picture was one of Majesty too.

His normal fat size and then his shrunken size.

“Without wasting time, let’s discuss Lin Alix.” The woman said authoritatively.

She spoke as she looked, tough.

She was quite buff for a researcher and most people that were arriving in this underground city for the first time had a habit of assuming she was a soldier at first glance.

Her name was Nuwa, Su Nuwa.

The magpie raised his hand before more could be said.

“Yes,” she sighed.

Nuwa was not a fan of the watchers, they were know it all’s who believed they knew better than everyone else because their strength was in collecting information.

“She goes by Tai Alix.

Recently, she was legally adopted by the chairman of TFK and his wife.

Two weeks ago, there was a big celebration at their home where she was introduced to the world as Tai Alix.”  “Thank you.” Nuwa smiled dryly.

The magpie was not finished.

“She has quite the temper so addressing her as Lin Alix could result in one ending up with a broken jaw.

I just want to make this clear so that whoever makes the introduction does not mess up when they meet her.”  “Thank you Maggie.”  The magpie frowned.

He hated being called Maggie which was got from his bird form, the magpie.

Still, it was how he was addressed by almost everyone there and he could do nothing about it.

“Let’s continue.” Nuwa said.

“Tai…” She looked at the magpie and emphasized the name Tai.

“Tai Alix is a confirmed dragon and we think she has a dragon morphing system.

She also has a special cat that can inflate or deflate it’s size accordingly.

She has been tagged as active so it’s time that she is brought into the fold.”
