More shocked than Alix at the extravagance of the Tai family in welcoming Alix was Caishen.

When he saw the golden statue, he scoffed and shook his head.

It was all gold, pure gold which was worth millions.

If anybody had been doubting the love old man Tai had for Alix, they would not be doing so anymore after seeing the statue.

It still blew Caishen’s mind that the Tai’s, all of them had accepted Alix so easily.

It was very unusual for any normal wealthy family to accept an adult non blood relative into their fold, let alone spend this much on them without any other expectations.

Biming lowered the window of the car on his side and he said, “Ah, so this is the statue which caused the tears.

I don’t know why your wife got all teary about it but i wouldn’t mind having one.

Do you think the Tai elder is still looking for children to adopt?”  “He has enough sons and grandsons.” Caishen looked at Biming and he smiled mysteriously.

“Maybe if you grew breasts and…” Loudly, Biming shook his head and said, “Woah, woah, woah!

I like being a man, no breasts for Gu Biming okay, thank you.”  “Don’t say i didn’t try to help you.” Caishen told him.

Biming shook his head and rubbed his hands along his arms, acting as if he was so cold and freezing.

“Don’t help me, please, i don’t need that kind of help.” His mother would faint and die on the spot if her showed up at home with breasts.

“Let’s talk about your wife, are you planning on giving her a big gift after her first win or are you afraid that she will cry again?”  The car arrived at the designated parking.

Caishen looked out of the car window while he slowly answered his friends question.

“I am not telling you because you will tell Fuzi who will tell Jin Kang and that woman cannot keep a secret even if her life depends on it.

And then there is Rongyan who will also tell my sister and my sister is now bestfriends with Jin Kang….., same result.”  Even Alix had warned him to be wary of sharing any unnecessary information around Jin Kang.

If she knew something then everyone in their circle would know about it soon.

“Winter is almost over, her time with Fuzi is coming to an end soon.

It’s going to be weird and complicated….it’s going to be another Beibei and Rongyan situation for sure.” Biming groaned.

He leaned his head back and added, “She is trying to get back with Rongyan by the way.”  Caishen nodded slowly.

He had also heard about this but not from his friend Rongyan.

This little bit of gossip had come from Alix who heard from Jin Kang that had been told about it by Zhang An.

“Has she called or tried to meet you yet?

She called me yesterday and i didn’t answer because i know she wants to talk about Rongyan.” Biming turned to Caishen with a wide eyed gaze.

“Shit, she is going to come after you with fury because your sister is dating Rongyan now.”  “I didn’t set them up and i have been very vocal about my disapproval of their relationship.

Whatever happens, it’s none of my business.”  Caishen stepped out of the car using both of his legs, and then he sat down in a wheelchair which Mo Sen had waiting.

“Take me to my wife.” he ordered his bodyguard.

“Sorry boss, grandpa Tai had ordered that you go and mingle with the rest of the family as his grandson-in-law.

The young madam is supposed to make a grand entrance and he doesn’t want any extra attachments holding on to her.”  Quickly, Mo Sen defended himself when Caishen glared at him.

“These are the words of the elder, not me.”  It was no secret that elder Tai had a love-hate relationship with Caishen.

Many of the Tai’s guessed that this would change if Alix had a female baby.

Of course, there was the possibility of grandpa disliking Caishen even more since he would want the baby to spend more time at the Tai house with him.

Biming laughed in earnest, finding Caishen’s plight interesting.

“Did you ever think that you would marry a woman whose family dislikes you?” “They don’t dislike me.”  Caishen assured him.

Biming shrugged.

“Eh, they don’t adore you either.”  “It’s called supply and demand.

I have the goods which are limited in quantity and they want exclusive access to what i have.

The old man needs to learn how to share.” Caishen replied boldly.

“I dare you to say that in front of elder Tai.” his friend answered.

Caishen folded his lips.

If that old man heard him saying this, he would fake illness an illness or something and Alix would run to his side to take care of him which would mean less time for hubby Zhang and sister Hulk.

“They have gone all out for her.” Biming mentioned.

“She is worth it.” he answered.

“So, will this make her bawl her eyes out too?”  “Probably.”  Caishen sighed.

They would need a bigger box of tissues if she was still as emotional as she had been earlier.

“You know, emotional outbursts are sometimes a sign of pregnancy.”  Caishen raised his head quickly and one of his hands fell to his lap.

Biming had succeeded in shocking him.

Even though he and Alix had not exclusively discussed children, they had agreed to wait until a year at least.

It was way too soon to bring babies into the mix no matter what his grandparents thought.

But, he had not been taking any precautions during their intimacy.

They had been cooking the rice raw.

Alix had told him that she was taking precautions but now that he thought about it, he had never seen her taking a pill or anything.

“No way…” he said unsurely.

He was sure that he would have been able to tell if she was pregnant.

Alix herself had not given any indicators of pregnancy.

There was no morning sickness…..for some reason, he couldn’t even recall other symptoms of pregnancy at the moment.

“Well, she is your wife so you would know best i guess.” Biming slapped him on the shoulder and he saw their friends.

Everyone in their small group had come out, and Holea’s rare writer husband was with the group of men too.

Biming raised his hand and smiled broadly.

“Hey guys,” he called happily.

He matched forward and left behind Caishen who was counting numbers on his fingers.

He was counting down from the last time Alix had suffered from cramps to the current day and he was frowning.
